The Shamy - Season 7 Spoilers Only Discussion Thread

Yes, I think that is exactly the purpose of the daydream, so when the SIK happens it will be way more organic than if it just happens.

Also, and I know this is going to sound freakin' crazy, not every viewer is as primed for this as we are. But a little touch like the day dream here and there... they are definitely building it up. Maybe that's why they didn't do it on Valentine's Day, they hadn't built up the romance enough to make it sweeps CLASSIC!

Remember we also have the "I like you, quirks and all" also coming up

@Adorkablyme. It's a pattern. Since S4 the 10th ep on the season has always been meaningful to Shamy:

4x10_ Alien Parasite with Sheldon getting sorta jealous of Amy wanting to have sex with Zack and their first hand holding

5x10: He asks her to be his girlfriend

6x10: Fish Guts

For those of you not on Tumblr, I asked inouken some further questions about the taping report and thought I would share them here.  MaJim are going to be the death of me yet with their adorableness!  Was also happy to hear that from another clarification another poster sent her that Amy has her harp back!   She evidently takes it with her to the hotel and she was unsure whether she had it at the hospital or not, but I was happy to hear it was back, especially after she mentioned it in 7.03!  Love the writers are going back and reading things they did before and adding back in that consistency!  :clapping::girlsmile:

Were Penny and Amy at the hospital to when the boys serenaded Bernie?

Also, in the near kiss scene, how close did they get to each other.  I mean were they almost touching as far as their lips and did they have to hold in that position for any length of time?   Were Shamy holding hands or touching in any way while on the couch before her daydream or during it?

Yes, both Penny and Amy were at the hospital to sing the song to Bernadette and make sure she was okay!

Sheldon and Amy weren’t touching during the daydream.  As to whether they were touching before, WELL. Canonically, no.  The final scene starts with the daydream, but fanfiction can patch that over nicely and expand on the daydream altogether, since the show cuts to reality before it reaches its conclusion, amirite. :>

For the almost!kiss, I would say their faces were a few inches apart at their closest. Jim and Mayim did have to hold the position for awhile before the director called it a wrap, and then they broke into really adorable grins and oh gosh.

The dream is going to mean nothing more to me than pure eye candy ;) Sheldon can be as out-of-character as he likes in alternate universe, it doesn't bother me much. Amy was clearly looking for a short-cut to get to the good part of her dream, so I'm not surprised he was off.

Also am I the only one who thinks it would be weird for Sheldon to have a daydream about kissing Amy on the couch when he was sitting right next to her in reality? If he wanted to do it that much he knows he could just go for it and Amy would have no complaints. And before people say germs, I don't know about you but I wouldn't daydream in a good way about something I had a phobia of....but that's just me. They love and trust each other very deeply too, so he shouldn't have fears about it being so "weird" that he could only dream about it.

Amy having the dream was totally her, and though it didn't show any progress I don't think it meant anything bad at all, plus it gives us something pretty to look at :)

7x15 should be February sweeps.

@Raz, I personally didn't mean an actual Sheldon daydream. I meant something along the lines of a proper dream or something like that. Sheldon daydreaming about this makes no sense, of course.

Oh good ;) I was a tad confused. Well in that case I agree that an actual Sheldon dream would be cool to see, but I can live with what we've got at the moment :p

4.05: "Amy Farrah Fowler, that’s the most pragmatic thing anyone has ever said to me."

7.06: "That is the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me."

I see a trend here.

I remember what Amy said before that line Sheldon said in 4x05? Amy said: "Don’t be absurd. I find the notion of romantic love to be an unnecessary cultural construct that adds no value to human relationships."

Sheldon: "Amy Farrah Fowler, that’s the most pragmatic thing anyone has ever said to me."

7x06: Sheldon "That is the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me."

Finding romance unnecessary cultural construct was pragmatic for Sheldon in season 4, but now he thinks Amy being embarrassed of him is romantic from his point of view? And romantic was meant to be something that did not have a value in Sheldon's mind? Oh how the times change, Sheldon...

Btw that new Sneak peek is adorable... Sheldon is so way too enthusiastic over her and her seeing the film he loves. I love love love that scene.

I know! it is so sweet! It's been 3 times now that Sheldon has expressed Amy has "trumped" things for him, becoming (paraphrasing Sheldon) "the most ____ in his life", becoming the most memorable person in so many aspects for him.

I just love love love how romance for them is still so unique and different from everyone else's. Like Jim said "Does he know romance? Yes. He knows what'll get her." And viceversa.
