And, not to beat a dead horse (but I just have to), but this episode also supports my view that that Penny-jealousy line from the last taping is a pile of nonsense. Amy knows how to handle him: check. Amy knows how to make him do things and give him advice: check. Sheldon is EXTREMELY comfortable around her: check. Whoever wrote that line needs to sit in the corner and think about their actions. :p

I have this theory for the finale. With all the stuff piling up, Sheldon might have a meltdown, and this meltdown can lead to shamy goodness! It could be:

1. Sheldon isolating himself and only letting Amy talk to him

2. Sheldon's mom coming over and having a talk with both of them

3. Hopefully this doesnt happen but I'm putting it out there. Sheldon get's overwhelmed by stuff happening that he breaks up with Amy (but realizes he cant live without her a few episodes after or maybe within the episode itself)

4. Sheldon gets overwhelmed, does something crazy like get drunk and confesses everything to Amy.

I want to see Sheldon grab her wrists and pull her arms up around his neck, before grabbing her hips next time! :D

:girlsigh:   :swoon:

Was it me or did it seem as though all they did was press their mouths together?  I said in another thread that Sheldon loves to do research so he needs to research this and they can practice on their next date night.

Do you think Amy was so stiff because he gave it to her well, LOL?  Or maybe she's still a little surprised he loves kissing her and doesn't know how to react?  Great topic at the next girl's night!

Ahh still haven't seen it yet .... But y'all are getting me through with all these details, I'm gonna look for all these little things while I'm watching it later today.... Just gotta get through this school day

I'm sorry you haven't gotten the chance to see it yet.  :-(

I can't wait until you finally see it and let us know what you think of it!

Ok so now that I've had the chance to get some sleep, calm down and rewatch a little, this was hands down my favorite episode this season, and probably one of my all time top 3 for the entire series. I mean it was just laugh out loud hilarious all the way through, even the Raj plot lines which usually I don't like as much.

Let's start with the obvious - THAT KISS. My initial reaction - OMG. First, it was not at all how I pictured it. In a weird way, it was better and more in character than what I had going on in my head. It somehow came off as a couple newly in love mixed with ubber nerdyness (the talking part was cute but omg so f'ing weird in a totally shamy way), sexy but awkward looking as hell. I LOVE IT. Secondly, I also love that she didn't touch him at all during nor get more into it. This plays into so many possible scenarios for where they could take this (Amy is too inexperienced, or shy, or just shell-shocked, or feels she's lacking that emotional closeness component). It was brilliantly written and acted cause now the door is open to explore ANY of those scenarios and they would totally make sense continuity wise. Plus when they finally do have her really kissing him back, it's going to be just as exciting. Again, brilliant way to keep things exciting between these two. And Sheldon's confidence level in just grabbing her like that, touching her (totally didn't notice the hip/lower back/butt? touching the first time around). Hello Sheldon ;)!

THE BUTTER SCENE was just the funniest thing I think I've ever seen them do. Mayim was on fire and my husband (who is not easily moved by anything) was just dying with laughter! At one point he even exclaimed "OMG Sheldon, she's mocking you, you moron!" It was again, so, so good.

I honestly don't know anymore which way the last two episodes are going to go at this point, but if I can judge by what I've seen the writers do recently, so long as they don't break them up or something, I will be very, very pleased with whatever other scenario plays out for them.

And end gushing :)

just checked out a website..

ppl are bashing amy so badly...

i am speechless! r we we even watching the same show?

What website? Probably overrun by a bunch of Shenny shippers or Sheldon purists. I wouldn't worry about it as I believe the majority of fans like the Shamy and the direction they're headed. Haters gonna hate, right? ;-)

I love it how he doesn't care if anybody sees him kissing Amy either...

TRAIN KISS = FULL OF PEOPLE
DATE NIGHT KISS = DOOR WIDE OPEN

I love this Sheldon. Don't know about you guys but I cant wait for when we get to the point where its so indecent that the door needs to be CLOSED.

Hot dayum!  :swoon:

If it was Shenny HQ, and you like Amy, I'm sorry you saw what you saw and suggest you avoid it in the future.

As for your question, Koops asks me that at least on a weekly basis, and my answer is always no.

Viewing comprehension is always a tricky thing. As far as I am concerned, when one Mary Sues themselves into a show, or overlay their emotional needs and fantasies onto a show, it's a recipe for disaster in the long run. There is the reality of the show and characters, and the further away one is from the reality the quicker the show disappoints as it starts to fail to meet your perfect head canon. Where the separation starts to happen is varied; you may start to think Amy is just like you, or just like someone you know, and if Amy goes off your mental picture or script of that other person, you feel it's wrong or OOC when it really isn't. An example of that would be someone saying: I am just like Sheldon and I hate public displays of affection so I don't believe Sheldon would kiss her on a train in front of other people. Despite the fact there's no evidence to support the idea Sheldon gives a damn what other people think, hates PDA, or is being written as based on you, that seems a rational argument and diminishes someone's enjoyment of the show.

Or you may love the characters and then be unable to watch them suffer or go through conflict or indignity, so you object to Penny taking the Serial Apeist job because it's beneath her. I don't find rationale for that either; acting is a dirty job. Was it beneath Jim Parsons to play the man raised by wolves in his Quiznos commercial when he was a "nobody" in Hollywood? I don't think so; this is the reality of building an acting career, which is exactly what the show is trying to convey.

I don't have any quibble with fantasies inspired by the show or actors, or attachment to them, but one has to keep them in check to a certain degree or the actual show will start to disappoint because reality can never match up to idealistic, personal mental perfection. It's a trap of shipping; I am sure I am and have been as susceptible to it as anyone. But it's why I prefer to discuss what's actually happening on the actual show vs. dreams, sex fantasies, speculation which goes too far ahead or doesn't have evidentiary support of the canon. I know those are the points where I will fall into the trap and get screwed because I'm in love with what I project onto the show rather than what's really there.

Shenny shippers were some who had the absolute hardest time with this; they completely believed something was coming which wasn't and now they hate watch the show if they watch it at all. "Sheldon Purists" have the same issues. To be clear, there are many among them I find decent people and very intelligent, and it saddens me to be separated from people I like and respect by a very polar opposite experience and world view, but I don't understand certain perspectives. The difference between what the writers want to say and their analysis is, to my mind, just huge. However, it has taught me that superimposition of the ego onto fictional characters is extremely common and trying to fight it is an exercise in wasting my breath. Doesn't mean I'll stop trying from time to time; TBBT brings me a lot of joy and amusement in life, and I wish the same for everyone else too.

Is anyone else really psyched by the fact that once again, Amy was NOT wearing tights? Not on date night nor at best buy last night, and we know she's not wearing them next week either, or the episode after that. Go Amy > :)

and she is NOT wearing t-shirt under her shirt!!

I noticed all of these but that's not a surprise. Omo what is next? No cardigan? I like her cardigans, though. Her less chunky shoes were totes adorable. Omo I can't wait to see her tightless again next week. Hoo boy.

OMO? Is that Oh my Oprah? LMAO!

Indeed, btw, she's not wearing a cardigan in the next episode, she only has a jacket and a shirt on. There's definitely something going on in the wardrobe department right now, with Leonard too. To be honest though, I miss her striped cardigans, those were the best.
