I understand why you'd be nervous but if Amy is that timid kissing him, there's no way she'd allow them to have sex yet. I know my gurl.

It might be just me, but I don't really feel like anything is missing between them right now. I mean, there's plenty of improvement that can be made, particularly on Sheldon's side in terms of being less self-centered and making her feel special, but overall I think they're in a very good place that, to be honest, I didn't even feel the necessity of the events in Anything Can Happen to move things forward even more in such an anvilicious (and randomly inconsistent) way. I feel like they've made enough progress this season that they could let them cruise happily where they're at: comfortable, touching much more, getting used to kissing and so on. If it weren't for the fact that I now want to see the ACHR's events amount to something, I would have been very content with no other major progress this season. I really don't feel like I need anything to happen right now other than confirmation and consolidation of the progress they've made. 

 

The other thing is that I'm very happy we didn't hear a line about a pre-determined duration of the kiss, which would make it seem like they are kissing for a long time just because it's in the contract, but that we can interpret it as being a long kiss just because that's how they kiss. I think they're developing their own style of kissing (hands on hips, mostly closed-mouth smooching), which is great. My headcanon is just that they enjoy kissing  

 

Ok I watched the episode. I know I liked it very very much - actually it was one of the best of s7 - but all I wanna talk about is that kiss!! I don't know I loved every minute of it!!! The fact that Amy did ask for the kiss tells me that she enjoys kissing him and I melted at her shy tone. But I loved his smile!! He was ecstatic to kiss her!!!When he realized what she asked he was like ''OMG I really get to kiss her tonight yeahhh''. The way he smiles against her lips is just soooo sweet!!! Tbh I love every minute of it. Her being shy, him being so sure about himself. I mean he not leaves all proud and cocky but he actually walks into the kiss that way. He has that ''I am sexy and I know it'' attitude!!! And it is so adorable considering he barely moved his head and she did nothing. I bet in their minds these closed-mouth innocent kisses equal with wild love making. Also I love that his expression while talking is different than while kissing. When he wants to talk he has that cute smile and then he goes all serious and loses himself to the kiss again. And I liked that their eyes are closed the whole time.

 

Actually, after watching the scene two things popped to mind. I don't know if the kiss was directed to be like that or if it was Mayim's interpretation of the character(which isn't really important cause if the writers/directors meant something else they would have made her play it otherwise) but not for a second Amy looked like she was manipulating him or holding back as part of a plan to let him come to her. She looked genuinly stunned. She was shy to even ask for the kiss, then she did nothig(I mean Sheldon obviously tried but can't say the same for Amy) and at the end she looked like she was about to faint.

The bold part in particular is spot on, IMO. To them this is probably the hottest thing ever and that's why they're so endearing. And why I don't even know that Amy is conscious that she's just standing there. I mean, from what we heard from Penny, she made it sound like their train kiss was a makeout session, which is so damn cute. These babies, they're so adorable. 

 

The last thing I was wondering was the scene at the Best Buy. The scene where she tries to touch his back just breaks my heart. It is a bit odd contrast to me that while Amy had absolutely no problem with leaning on him on the floor, as soon as they get up and he gets anxious and crying, she hesitates to support him by touching him again as they walk away. She tries but has no courage, there is some hidden obstacle for her to do it. Why she doesn't have the courage? She wasn't either responding to his kiss properly nor touching him by her hands. I know later she will support him to bed when he is drunk and has touched him earlier but somehow I get the feeling Amy has become more cautious about that matter. This brought me to think: was it really Amy who wanted to lean on him in the first place?  I think it was Sheldon who sat down first. I wonder if he then asked for her to support him and therefore she sat down too and leaned in towards him to support him. If she hesitates so much to touch him slightly with her hands (as in the Chirstmas episode too, and Sheldon was not crying there or in an anxious condition) how come she has the courage to lean on him with all her weight and in front of every other guests of the store if it was her idea? Or then there is some difference here I don't understand. Could it be it was Sheldon who asked her to support him and thus lean against him? I may be totally wrong with this, but I'm just curious about this mix of leaning and no touching.

 

I get the feeling that Amy is very very cautious of spooking Sheldon when he's having one of his meltdowns. That's been rather consistent so far, asking if she could hug him in Cooper/Kripke and here being all hesitant like she's trying to figure out the best way to calm him down. I think the hesitancy on the staircase at Xmas was more because she was in this overwhelmed, star-struck mode, like she couldn't believe he was there with her and real. But, like I said before, if she were really so hesitant to touch him, she wouldn't be asking for kisses or to hold hands. I think she is very aware of what he likes and doesn't like and tries to respect that, but at the same time she's not totally negating herself everything. I do think that she will loosen up once Sheldon loosens up himself and becomes more open with her about what he *does* like about their touching and intimacy. 

 

I don't mind all this hesitation and clumsiness though. It makes the story more interesting and gives us more milestones to look forward too, rather than worrying that they will break them up or have them cheat or something stupid like that because they run out of ideas.

Ignore my ignorance but who is ausiello and why would they even know anything about finale episodes let alone was he/she even talking about tbbt? Those episodes haven't filmed so isn't it all still up in the air? Personally i'm good with the Shamy this season, i mean good god look how far they've gotten just this season! Honestly at this point any more progress is totally icing on the cake

He's basically the number one source of spoilers. I would also be fine with no more progression IF we haven't been getting such obvious clues in the next couple tapings. I mean the psychic scene? There's NO way they aren't working toward something big for the finale.

I saw mention that given the edits of the kiss they chose, it looked as if there was writing on the board that wasn't there as Sheldon left. When I was at the taping, I believe they only did 2 takes of the kiss and the first was the one where the audience went wild. I don't recall anyone writing on the board so take take from that what you will. Maybe they reshot the end deliberately.....seems to be a lot of Shamy reshoots after taping this season. Like I always say: these writers are smart people, and I have a feeling they have big plans for Sheldon and Amy!

Okay, so I'm feeling kinda sick with this low grade fever, then I come across THESE, and my temperature totally goes up while I'm making this weird noise between giggling and sobbing while fanning myself while my husband freaks out that I'm having a stroke or something. Calmed down now.......never a dull moment here.

 

Now that my brain has stopped frying, I am one of those who don't want to see sex just yet. As much as I am dying for it to happen, in the words of most others here, I am comfortable where they are at as long as we see more small moments. However, I wouldn't say no to ILY in the finale. I really feel like they are taking us somewhere important, even if it is Sheldon realizing he needs to be more giving to Amy because, well, he loves her.

He sinks down to her level and wraps his arms around her waist. When they break apart;

I personally love Ausiello's May Sweeps Scorecard.  followed it last year.  Shamy's D&D scene ended up in the " Number of couples having sex, kissing or saying I love you for the first time".  It was footnoted that it was a virtual experience. 

 

He has also interviewed the cast on many occasions, the best ones are from Comic Con a few years back. He's an unusual interviewer and they, as a group get  snarky and rambunctious when he let's them have free reign.  He started one of the interviews with the cast by stating (paraphrased) "Every year you come here, the show is a bigger hit and you even are more obnoxious".  Things fell apart pretty quickly after that
