Chiany Posted November 16, 2013 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Here's a interesting topic for discussion: are the writers holding off on Sheldon kissing Amy because they know that coitus wouldn't be much further down the road after that? Before answering this question, here is one of mine? How many Shamy kisses have seen? 2 right? The drunken Amy one, and the Tiara one, right? So why we all are waiting for a SIK, Amy has not made a real, sober attempt imho. But to respond to your question, I personally think there will be a long time between the kiss and actual coitus. Here is a off the top of my head timeline: - 2nd half of s7 a real sober kiss - beginning s8 regular onscreen kissing - 2nd half s8 Leonard moves in with Penny - final episode s8 Amy moves in with Sheldon, with a cliffhanger about shared bedroom or not. - begin s9 they do not share bedroom, but are regular seen cuddling and kissing. - 2nd half s9 Amy proposes, Sheldon accepts in a Sheldon way. - rest of the season preparations for the wedding. - beginning s10 actual wedding. - somewhere 1st half s10 Sheldon asks Penny for advice about how to bring having Coitus up to Amy. - 2/3 of the season, actual Coitus. - after that either end of show, or Amy gets pregnant somewhere down the line. I think your timeline is pretty spot on. Although, I don't think we will actually see a lot of kissing/cuddling. And we def will not see coitus, it will probably be the aftermath as mentioned above. Ow ofcourse, we won't see the actual coitus onscreen, they have never shown that with both P/L & H/B . I see it as equal....they both do. If anyone of them does lead, I'd choose Sheldon. After all, he's the one who asked her to be his girlfriend. He's the one who drew up The Relationship Agreement and expected her to follow it. He's the one who thought of spanking her to "keep her in line". Haha. He's the one who lead sex role play. Yeah, Sheldon wins. LOL. Buttttt, Amy has him whipped and he listens when she tells him to do something. People see Amy as leading because Sheldon is perceived to be more immature in many respects, and rightfully so, and because she has him wrapped around her little finger, emotionally. If she broke up with him, I don't think he would ever recover. But Sheldon has indeed made all the first moves (except for the drunken kiss), and she's happy letting him lead in those contexts where she knows he has issues to overcome. For that reason, I don't see Amy initiating any major milestones, I think she's happy with letting him be in control of that (although she will probably nudge him along, of course). He has also demonstrated more maturity in other contexts where she was the one being immature (like 6x10, 6x15).  I don't know if we'll ever see a proposal, but I'm sure that the writers will come up with an original way to do that if they want to go there. I actually wouldn't be surprised if instead of a proposal we will see them just mutually deciding they want to get married. I know it's not romantic in the classic television sense, but I think that could work really well for Shamy. If you think about it, Howard proposed to Bernadette, traditionally. Penny will propose to Leonard, with a gender reversal. I could live with this  i don't think there will be another AIK till after the SIK, cause they are clearly dragging it out for a SIK...at least in my zone. Yes, of course I'll be happy if it's the case but I don't particulary focus on it like a goal to reach. All I want is to see our lovely couple of wierdos and how they handle their life, intimacy, love, hobbies and work in their unique quirky manner... That's what brought me here in the first place. Howard and Bernadette's first date anniversary was actually only one episode off this year, and Shamy's second year anniversary last season was exactly two years from their first date. They also had a lot of nice little nuggets of continuity this season, like Amy's "vixen" and the bracelet that says what medication she's allergic to (both S5 stuff) and Sheldon's dislike of lamb (from S4).
