Martin Pollard Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Star Trek Enterprise or Voyager? Sheldon mentioned Voyager in "The Rothman Disintegration," but deliberately skipped Enterprise, which I'm pretty sure was the joke. PaleLeper Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I remember sitting in my kitchen, playing a game of "Magic" with a bunch of friends, Jodie (yes there are cute nerd girls" and her boyfriend Hank were there playing. Hank and Jodie had been fighting, so Hank decided to up the stakes with this famous line, he looked at us all and said "Do you know what is wrong with the new show Star Trek Voyager?" We all said that we did not know, at that point he looked at Jodie and said "The Captain is a woman!".....yea you can guess what followed! rrtaylornz Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Why do the Boys never mention ....the following TV shows .... the Flash TV series from 1991. .....the 1966 Batman TV series .....the TV show Fringe.... (come on, that just has to be right up the boys' alley ! It's got arguably the best mad scientist on TV, besides Sheldon and Sheldon would have loved the Observers) ....the TV show Supernatural.... If they have mentioned any of these, please let me know. But, as far as I know, the boys have dodged these shows, which seems a bit odd, although I suppose they'd have to bring them up in a way that's funny. cheers. ..... phantagrae Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 They've barely mentioned The X-Files. So what? I don't think they have to mention every genre show or character. They have whatever preferences they have. I like ST:TOS and TNG, but don't really care about the others. They certainly don't have to be aficionados of every sci-fi show or comic book character. That's true of course, bu they are BIG Star Trek fans (they even get the girls to dress up in ST uniforms).....but never mention, even in a "they were rubbish" way STV and STE, yet ST Deep Space 9 gets quite a few mentions.....just struck me as strange. djsurrey Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) The writers stick to what they know as a group. Stargate sg1 (1997-2007) was still running when tbbt started I think. It ran for 10 years and had two spin-offs. (Edit). OK I was wrong. I did find one reference. They actually filmed some on location stuff here in Surrey BC Canada. I came across them shooting a scene for the episode "it's good to be king" in Tynehead park. This is not the same scene I saw but it is the right location. There are parts of the park that are less natural and more kept for picnics. There are also parts that are all big cedars and ferns. . http://www.metrovancouver.org/services/parks_lscr/regionalparks/Pages/Tynehead.aspx Edited October 6, 2013 by djsurrey
