[email protected] Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 When Penny sees Sheldon's board there is a joke at the bottom... Can anyone explain that joke to me??? I have wondered about it since day one... HELP!
Tripper Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 This information from our Wiki might help: Sheldon's Whiteboard: According to him, his board contains some quantum mechanics along with a little string theory, plus a joke, a spoof of the Born-Oppenheimer Approximation. The BO Approximation is a bit of a short-cut used to work out quantum chemical calculations which would otherwise be extremely difficult and time-consuming to solve. Since using the Approximation gives less than perfectly accurate results, Sheldon may be poking fun of it and suggesting that when he works out the energy and wavefunction of a molecule, he actually works it out entirely instead of taking the imprecise short-cut of the BO Approximation. http://wiki.the-big-bang-theory.com/wiki/Sheldon's_whiteboard

Emma Frost Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 In this episode it looks like Sheldon is trying to pickup Penny when he chillax's against his board. Lol moment. Changed his character a bit. Yep, I've noticed that too.
Steve Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Sheldon's character has changed a LOT since the pilot! Notice, for example, that when the guys are at the High IQ Sperm Bank and Sheldon says "I don't think I can do this!", Leonard responds that he's "practically a pro", suggesting that he knows that Sheldon masturbates regularly. The Sheldon character that has developed over two seasons is very much non-sexual and Leonard would never make that kind of comment about him now. zedlord Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 The Sheldon character that has developed over two seasons is very much non-sexual and Leonard would never make that kind of comment about him now. But how should we know that he doesn't masturbate regularly? He might do it and there is no reason to mention it. He can have some explanation for it. In this episode it looks like Sheldon is trying to pickup Penny when he chillax's against his board. Yeah, it might look like it but it's only time one time. He didn't try it again, before or later in the episode. If he tried to pickup Penny he would try again, because he doesn't yet know the protocol of not "stealing" friends "girlfriend".
