Episode 3.01

Recommended Posts

I agree the whole penny/Leonard thing was rushed and thrown together rather quickly dated back to season 2 they were just friends and penny says leonard's name while making out with Stuart and then doesn't won't Leonard to go to the Artic because she'll miss him and can't keep her hands off of him the minute he returns, as for leonard being a jerk due to not getting any he's gone more than three months before and hasn't acted like this, I didn't like this episode because of the way he could care less about his supposed best friend Sheldon and just wanted to get in her pants he couldn't take 5 minutes to apologize, and then when Sheldon left he cared even less, good thing penny put Leonard in his place or I won't have hated it even more.

After looking at this thread I can honestly say, even if I am disappointed in an episode, it seems others love it and when I loive it it seems others do not.

That makes it pretty diverse.

I can tell from my short time here if Steve, Pomita or Irvine like and episode...I, 4ofN and smeghead will not and vice versa (Euclid Alternative is one of my favorites)

Small changes in humor.

I find the revelation fascinating and will give BBT a shot this season, as I am sure as with Season 4 I will like more episodes than loathe...but even then, I can complain about the ones I don't on here :)

Sorry to bring an old topic but here I go:

Oh, guys, remember when everyone was outraged about Leonard messing up Sheldon's research results and all? No one talks about that anymore!

I only bring it up to make a parallel with the ''Ranny'' incident from the season 4 ending! In a few episodes we won't even remember it! ^_^

This episode is on right now and truth be told, what the guys did to Sheldon was really unforgivable. Just mean. I don't find it amusing at all that they let it go as far as they did - I can see messing with him for a few days up in the Arctic, but to let him come home thinking he'd really proved something groundbreaking? That's not funny. :icon_frown:

I love everything with Sheldon's mother and it's still a funny episode, but this one really toes a line.

I totally agree with you too many people on here just brush it off or try to downplay it, what made me so upset is there really was no reason for it, they said he was being difficult did they just met him? It was just brushed off like no big deal, and Leonard could've cared less all he cared about is Sheldon was affecting his alone time with Penny(which what is that about all of a sudden she's hot and heavy for him, did they get the script from a porn writer? Talk about just throwing a couple together and not having them lead up to them getting together), talk about lacking compassion just his academic integrity is damanaged and might never be repaired. If I was Sheldon I'd kick Leonard out and throw his stuff out on the street andconvince Penny to take my side(not that it would take much).

Not to mention Leonard wasn't even the one that told him it was raj and Howard and Leonard just brushes it off and then in Texas the guys give him some lame apology.

I completely agree Steve. Leonard deserved to get smacked this episode. And for some reason Sheldon's mom seemed a lot more mean. also, Sheldon seemed a lot more emotional, which was good, but got tiresome after a while. Raj is the one character who doesn't disappoint. I love his one-liners! And also, penny. She was a better friend to Sheldon than Leonard was! overall the episode wasn't that great, but it had it's moments.

Once again:

BAD P/L!!!

1. What the hell happened to sweet Leonard? the nice one who wouldn't (as Steve stated) take advantage of Penny? I know we said to get a backbone, but to Penny, not his friends. He refuses to even think about anything but sleeping with Penny. And karma made it so the sex was bad. :p Sorry Leonard.

2. LMAO At peoples reactions to the beard kiss. Obviously Penny is a furry-lover!! xD

This Leonard might had taken advantage of penny at the party if he thought it would lead to sex, right about the karma but shouldn't the sex be bad when he's involved, and what the crap was the speech about at the end, those are normally the best relationships.

Yay, finally found a way to see the episode! And although I didn't want to believe it, when I read your comments on it: Leonard IS a jerk

But to his defense: He waited so long for Penny to feel about him the way she suddenly does, when he returns... He was probably afraid she might change her mind again.... I can totally understand that!

Anyway, I hope he goes back to the way we know him. And I hope they're going to recover from all the weirdness. :D

I love Sheldon in that episode and I really love the scenes with his mother, where he is always forced to pray and respect religion. Haha, I don't think he'd be doing that for anyone but his mom!!

Then Leonard shouldn't went, want he did to Sheldon and getting with penny are separate Sheldon isn't keeping them apart.

I laughed so hard when Sheldon said: 'I don't have a sad-song, I'm not a child'.

soo funny

I think the episode was pretty good, great perfomance by Laurie Metcalf too. 'Just pretend he's Chinese' and 'Evolution is your opinion', are there really Texans who are so backwards and won't recognise the truth??

(this is a question I want answered :p)

I'm not sure what you're asking are you saying religion is backwards or just Christians? Texas is in the bible belt and has the highest churches per capita in the country, not everything scientific or evolution is a fact, you have your beliefs and they have theirs.

Bilkis: I don't think Sheldon never had respect for religion. Though he is no strong believer, he did reference Christianity a few times

(''For what it worths, my mother say that when we deceive for personnal gain, we make Jesus cry'') and respect the fact that others can be religious, even if they are not really (''Oh, dear God'' '' I'm sorry I didn't knew I was interrupting your morning prayer. When you're done we can go''). I think what annoyed Sheldon this time is those whom beliefs exceed moral issues and contradicts scientifical evidences (such as the creationnist/evolution case pointed in this episode).

Actually, Sheldon is an atheist: Raj confirms that in one episode when he says to Sheldon, 'you begged a deity you don't believe in to end your liffe quickly'

Ever so true of Sheldon! This is of what his upbringing is made of. Moral consistency all the way throughout.
