Thanks Chloe!!!! I don't get why they wasted the pants dropping on the promo.. Probably to attract the vewiers but it would be a nice surprise.. Also, is it just me or Amy was super cute when she laughed and said ok that's pretty good?? Again!!!! I love the way she says it they kind of feel like good old quirky Shamy right?? :girlsigh:

Yeah I don't like that they show these things in a promo, but yeah it will draw in more "casual" viewers.

Amy was very cute, but she always is when they have a private Shamy moment.

I'm guessing that Penny actually suggests her and Leonard move in together.    That would be a staggering step forward for  her.

I figure the title is going to refer to Leonard's reaction.   Remember  Leonard had a girlfriend (the doctor who had been Howard's date) who wanted to move in with him and he suddenly backed away from it.

Also Leonard wonders if her sudden willingness to move forward with their relationship is because she has failed in her career yet again and is kind of "rebounding" from that.

But then Leonard worries that if he hesitates that he will "never get this chance again".

In all fairness, Stephanie never asked Leonard if she could move in with him, she just started bringing her stuff over and putting them in his bedroom while at the same time removing his things.  I can understand why he backed away from the situation, they hadn't really known each other very long and it was pretty aggressive of her to just move in.

I think that Penny will ask Leonard to move in with her, and I agree that he will not do it because he thinks that he will be taking advantage of depression because of her scene being cut from NCIS.  I am sure that he will be sorely tempted, but IMO if he really loves her he will turn down her offer because he will be thinking of her and not himself.

If Amy has such a problem with Sheldon's quirks why the hell doesn't she break up with him. Gawd! THAT's his girlfriend? I can't even…. pfffff!

Because of one line she said?

She clearly stated earlier this season that she likes his quirks, as she did last season too in the spoiler episode.

But just keep on hoping "old", pre Amy Sheldon will come back...

Well she obviously lied. The only time she is happy with him is when she thinks she's getting somewhere. The rest of the time she has a face like thunder now.

And Penny is only happy when she drinks, so she should break up with Leonard too.

And don't even get me started on Howardette.

You're deflecting. The whole justification for bringing Amy in was that she was supposed to relate to him. She's simply a means to an end now. They would have been better off keeping them on the same wavelength, then anything that happened would seem natural. Now she's like a therapist attempting an illicit affair with a patient.

Believe me there are certain times that I wonder the exact same thing - maybe from a different perspective but it doesn't matter. But we all know how annoying Sheldon can be when he becomes obsessed with something. Plus when he is trying to achieve something (especially something he is not very good at) he tends to overdo it and drive the most patient person(aka Amy) mad!!! That is the thing he tries too hard and he obviously fails which in some point becomes incredibly annoying. You answered to Chiany that she is a means to an end now and at some extend you are right but the way that storyline goes proves that they are on the same wavelength. I mean obviously to most people someone dropping their pants is either a sexual suggestion or just weird IMO is not the funniest thing to do. But Amy laughs and she thinks it is just funny. Once she said that he is the funniest person she knew and this is proved by her reaction. They are a couple of weirdos and from the taping report and the promo I believe this is the point they try to make.

I think what this shows us though is that the writers have been less careful as they should be about making sure to not show Amy so far apart from Sheldon that most people don't get it.   As you said, they are trying to show by her laughing that they are on the same wavelength, but many many not catch that.  Sometimes the writers have been too subtle in showing them on the same channel where the casual viewer is not going to catch it.   So they may feel as Moonbase has stated above and wonder why they are even bothering with the couple.  They need to be a bit more overt now and again to make it very obvious that these two are still both weirdos that "get" each other and also are not really that far out of sync with each other.   While Amy may be more advanced socially, I still say that as far as physical relationship, she wants affection, not a full on physical relationship so isn't really that far ahead of Sheldon.   While she may want affection, I think she would be very shy even with him initiating a kiss with her.   I like it when they give us glimpses of her shy side.  It shows that they still are very much aligned.

I completely agree with that!! I found myself agree with Bernie when she implied that Amy could do better than Sheldon. Not because he is not good enough and I loved it that she was offended by that but sometimes they feel really far away. IMO this has more to do with the writers rather than with the shamy. We know that when convinient they use Amy as a plot device and they ''normalise'' her just to make her weird and odd again and treat her like a real character again. Fortunately, IMO again the good times are way more than the bad ones and that is why I am still here. And I agree so so much with the part about how shy Amy is. Everytime things get more real(and I include her daydream on that because that is how she thought she would react) she dismisses her bold self and she becomes incredibly shy. I think they should have gone with the kiss at the V-day episode last season but no matter how much Sheldon drags it out it is obvious that he is more mature on the physical issues because he never does or says something unless he is certain he wants it and can handle it and the best example is the D&D episode. He said once he knows exactly how he feels about anything and I believe him. I really really hope that moments like that quirky shamy sense of humor will come up again to close the gap that sometimse seems to exist between them.

(I think I said wayyy too much about the shamy on the episode thread..sorry I just couldn't resist!!!!!!)

Sheldon was better off on his own, than with her. He doesn't suit being in a relationship like this, it just makes the character unfunny and annoying. The things you mention are not the Sheldon I started watching the show for. He was fantastic, everybody loved him. Now he's an idiot and it's all to service a romance that never fitted him. I maintain that if Sheldon was ever going to meet a girl she should have been a gamer and shared his TV cult obsessions. They could have had a lot more fun together, Amy doesn't fit. There's someone off kilter about them and they never seem right. For the record, I don't think the dropping pants thing is even good. Or funny, and this is what I mean.

The views on whether Sheldon is unfunny or was better off on his own can vary significantly from one to another. I have to admit that I enjoy Sheldon just as I enjoyed him on the earlier seasons. He would always annoy me and I would always love him. Honestly I don't see anything different now. This is exactly how it was with Sheldon trying to built the perfect lie. He went so far as hiring an actor because he was obsessed with it. He overdid it then and it was pretty annoying epsecially for Leonard given that it could destroy his friendship with Penny. Because at some point we all said to a friend we had ''a thing'' just to avoid a social event but that is ok that is a white lie. But to hire an actor and create a far fetched story like that that is something else. If Amy is complaining he obviously did something like that again. But it doesn't have to do with her. It could be Leonard or Penny or Howard in her place. The difference is that she laughed because she thought it was funny while the others would just mock him. And as you said it isn't really funny I mean in Amy's place I would laugh akwardly and be rendered speechless but seeing Sheldon just do that without even saying a word that was pretty funny to me. I don't know if you read the taping report and this isn't a spoiler thread so I won't say anything else just that when I read the scene I thought it would be really funny and it was justified why Sheldon would do something like that. Now if that move has a deeper meaning about him and Amy or if the writers want to take this somewhere that I don't know. I can only hope!! I honestly don't think it was about the shamy at all and it only proves that he feels more comfortable with her than before.

Now if Amy is the root of all evil..I disagree but I respect your view. I just think that for the show to continue Sheldon should eventually grow since he is a major character. He should be able to give new things but maintain the main aspects of his character. Of course this is too a matter of taste and I understand that we cannot all agree. But even if Amy was a gamer and shared his TV likes things wouldn't be much different. The romantic aspect would still stand and Sheldon should eventually move. And to Amy's defence she did play a video game with Penny last episode I'm pretty sure she does with Sheldon too. Bottom line I think their intellect and science are far more important things than halo and star trek. These are things that can link them together and make them appreciate one another. He respects her intellect and they share a passion for science. He can make her like comics and games and that would be fun to watch!! He could teach her new things and she could teach him the things she likes too!!! I believe that for a relationship to be succesful it isn't a requirment for the couple to have the exact same tastes on everything. It would be a bit boring soon right? But to share a common lifestyle and life principals that is important and honestly they do.

gamer? More fun together? Right. Perhaps he should move back in with his mother also? Sheldon needs to be challenged a little to help him grow up.

Why does Sheldon need to grow up? He's just a fictional character.

Because the show has to grow, if any character (or all) would stay exactly the same, ppl will stop watching.

After season 3 I only continued watching because they added in the girls, which gave the writers lots of new stories to tell.

I know some ppl don't like change, but change is not optional, not even in fictional life.

I disagree with you and I think given that ratings have gone way up since they added Amy and Bernadette (nearly doubled since they joined the show), you may be in the minority.   He is still very funny and it opened up a lot more story for him.  If he had remained single, it would have been like Raj, who they still can't figure out what to do with and that would be a travesty.   It is far more interesting to watch him traverse through a relationship and Amy is a perfect match for him.   Not many girls would be patient.   By the way she does like playing games (D&D, for example, and recently Wii) so she is starting to pick up many of his interests.  She also is more open to reading comic books now.

Sheldon and Amy continue to be one of the more interesting couples on TV and they are very compatible.  Their chemistry is good (which I realize is a very subjective thing, but given how much MaJim support there is, tells me that enough people see the chemistry) and they both have a passion for science.  They understand each other.

They are not going to be for everyone, but that would be true on any show and any cast.   But I would have to say that there are nearly 20 Mil people out enjoying Sheldon and Amy as a couple given the high ratings and the fan responses not only on the internet but at fan events.   They are the most asked about couple at fan events and highly popular on all forum and social media sites.
