MsTeller Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) I saw that. The person who posted in on Tumblr wrote that knowing full well what they were writing isn't true. Honestly some Tumblr users are so disrespectful to Jim, Mayim and Todd for different reasons. Whether it's because they are shenny shippers who make personal attacks on Mayim or whether its deluded people who genuinely say that there is something going on with Mayim and Jim. Mayim is a lovely human being and she doesn't deserve a lot of the things I've read about her. She is deeply invested in her kids and her family and she works very hard at her job. She is caring and loving and while she seems to have a close friendship with Jim Parsons, there is nothing going on between them. And people who say there is don't realize that this is also an insult to her. Does anyone really think that Mayim would be the kind of person to even try and stand in between a stable relationship and pine after somebody who identifies as gay? I mean do people REALLY not see how saying these things leads to a defamation of her character?? She's a successful person and when she's ready can and will likely land herself a wonderful man. I'm utterly disgusted by some people. I don't think I even have to explain why this is disrespectful to Jim and Todd, not to mention I'm sure Jim and Todd would also be unhappy with a lot of things some of his so called fans say about Mayim considering she's a close friend of theirs. excuse the semi rant, I'm just annoyed And I fell right for it I guess. They do look a lot alike and my comment was simply copying over! It was not intended to be disrespectful to anyone. Though I WILL include a gentle reminder that wondering if Mayim babysits for Jim's nephews is NOT the same thing as asking if he is sleeping with her. No it's not the same thing but why in the world would Mayim be babysitting Jim's nephews? As a mother, I can't see any reason why I would feel comfortable letting my brothers co-worker and/or friend babysit my kids. Its like you're saying Julie (Jim's sister) is okay with someone she personally doesn't know (because she currently lives in Texas), babysit her kids. I spent time as a child being babysat by their mutual friends so I did not think about how uncommon it would be to someone else. It was more "look at that, I am surprised to see that." Though, like I said, my parents and their siblings shared the same friends so it was not a big far-fetched leap for me. So I do think it is very possible she knows Mayim as well. And Julie may trust her brother's suggestion. I am sure they are quite familiar with Mayim. She does follow her on IG and I know his mother has met her personally several times. So it isn't far fetched she would have let her son hang out with Mayim and her boys. In this case, it is obviously Miles and not Michael, but still it wasn't that much of a stretch. Believe it or not, Julie and Jim seem very close and I suspect he is just as protective about his nephew as she is. I am sure he would not just leave him with anyone and Julie is aware of that. If they were not close siblings, then I would agree, she wouldn't necessarily go on his saying. I had been under the impression that Mayim was actually friends with Todd and possibly with Jim's family as well. And I don't know if he and Todd are the godparents of his nephews. In some families, aunts/uncles who are godparents do spend some time making sure their neices/nephews knowing their closest friends and their partner's extended family because if (God forbid) something happens to their parents then this is the environment they will be growing up in. So, ironically, not only was I thinking of Mayim as just the babysitter, I was also thinking of Todd as being the other half of their family! This wasn't the previous kiss on the cheek and the hug that was shown on the live stream. It was when the cast was leaving. Mayim went over to Jim to say goodbye and he cupped the back of her head, gave her a quick kiss on the mouth, then hugged her goodbye. I think it's cute, I don't see it as a big deal, I've already kissed a good friend who is gay in the mouth as a gesture of caring and friendship. Jim obviously knew exactly who was there, since he had previously photographed with his mother and with Todd. He knew they were there, so why are people bothered? If he isn't why should they be? I am sure everyone there understands the closeness between MaJim and have no issue with it. Maybe the corner of the mouth (which is what it looks like in the picture), but their lips were touching. It wasn't a big deal at all. Todd was standing right there to the right of Mayim with Jim's Mom. And Jim kissed a couple of other ladies (who had been sitting with his family, so maybe cousins?) on the mouth as well. I think he's just a kisser, lol. And Todd did too. He kissed a few women that were there on the mouth too, so I'm pretty sure this is something that is like second nature and not an issue to them.
