But if this "boring couple" (which I don't think they are) are the best, why should the writers spice anything up?

Yeah, and when they do have L/P talking about sex or being in bed together or whatever, people start complaining that their relationship is just about sex.

I don't think they can "spice things up" very much while they're on prime time TV. I love that they're in a really good, stable place now--no insecurity, no threats of breaking up. They're still going to have things to deal with, but they're happy, and that's a great thing.

The rationalisation i reached is that Penny is under a huge amount of pressure - she has rolled the dice and is waiting for her all in bet to come off. She is not so care free now as she was. Leonard is chewing his nails on the sidelines. So we get less frivolity.

I hope the table is a permanent feature at the apartment and not a one episode onetime deal.  Sheldon trying to update windows 98, even for him, that is too much, not too convincing of an argument.

sorry about previous posting, I m not sure why it came out like that, format.

I liked the storylines in this one.  Amy was great with Raj, I like Amy acting normaly with other people in the gang, every so often.  The part with Penny and Leonard started out a little tense, but the car scene was great.  I like how Howard kept saying he was distracted by Bernadette and I like how she smiled when he told her.  I liked Sheldon and Howard together, but I really don't want them to become better friends, they are too good picking on each other.  I have to say this seems like one of the better episodes this season.

I liked the episode.  I agree that the L/P portion started off rather tense, but I liked how she really let her feeling out about things when her car broke down.  I also thought the part with L/P and his gift to her was great.  I really liked the look on Penny's face.

I thought that the part with Sheldon and Howard was great especially on the plane.  I agree with SRAM.  I hope that they don't totally eliminate the way Howard and Sheldon pick at each other.  The reference to Sheldon looking like C-3PO and Pee Wee Hermon was great!

I really enjoyed the storylines in this one.  Amy was great with Raj, I also like seeing her acting normally with other people in the gang.  The scenes with Penny and Leonard started out a little tense, but the car scene was great.  And I really enjoyed seeing Sheldon and Howard together, And I also I really don't want them to become better friends, they are too good picking on each other. And I have to admit that this was one of the better episodes this season as well.

High Points of the episode:
Howard and Sheldon spending time together on the airplane
Penny getting a car from Leonard to get to her auditions
The scenes with Amy and Raj even though she should have done what Raj did with Sheldon by setting him up with a woman online.

Low Point of the episode:
Penny’s old car breaking down even though that car with the 'check engine light' should have broken down circa Season 4.

Over all this episode is probably one of the better episodes of Season 7 IMHO.

I am probably going to be in the minority here again bit I could only give this a good. While I liked the Leonard and Penny scenes the one at the car was much too short. it could of been similar to the SiK scene but wasn't. I did like the Sheldon/Howard storyline but there were too many scenes on the plane for me. The Raj/Amy storyline I could of done without. they seemed awkward IMO walking outside together and it turned into the usual scenerio for Raj. I think at times they have to have a storyline for everyone. that one didn't work for me.

I loved the episode but went by too fast; I can't really pin point any scene I didn't like, however my favorite part of the episode was when Leonard gave Penny the car keys. I almost teared up watching that scene.

You are right with the too fast part. You almost needed another episode to cover all that was happening.

I'm going to half agree with you regarding the bold part; I thought their scenes were funny BUT I was really, really hoping this was going to be it for Raj. I did not expect the "date" to fall through like it did. I thought this episode was going to introduce "The one" for Rajesh. However I still think Amy and Raj were funny and had great scenes together.

my overall impression:

raj/amy: i dont know if im the only here who thinks this (im sure im not), but the whole thing about raj never getting a girl and being completely desperate and creepy is REALLY starting to get old. I mean, why can't they have him have at least a glimpse of hope? it's not going to destroy the point of the show if he gets at least one date every now and then. I will say that the girl amy tried to pair him up with was a straight up bitch, so im glad at least he's not with her, but c'mon, as someone who's 21 and has never dated anyone, i feel for this man. give him something. (btw raj even makes me look good with kinda stuff). honestly it was the worst part of the story for me.

leonard/penny: started a bit rough between them. i think while leonard had a point about what he said in the beginning, he did go a bit too far. there's such a thing about being too honest. when he said that, i was like "damn". i get that the writers are trying to display conflict for the two, since they fixed the majority of their issues last season, but i felt this argument was a bit too harsh tonight. however, moving on from that, i feel that the car scene and the hallway scene redeemed it. i thought it was so sweet that leonard did that for her, and believes in her, and i love that penny was able to talk out her problems with leonard, rather than avoid it like in earlier seasons. I was so sad for penny when she was crying in the hall. i love these 2 as a couple, they are so sweet and always seem to work out their issues now. i will say that this stroyline seemed to be rushed, and didnt last as long as the other scenes. idk, that's just me though.

howard/sheldon: i thought it was kinda cute that sheldon kept referring to howard as friend howard, and i liked how he freaked out on the plane. Im sure that howard was ready to kill bernadette after the trip was over though. As a member of the audience, i think sheldon's acts are hilarious (most of the time, he is unaware of what he does, which makes us love him even more), but if i was in howard's situation, and i had someone like that around me, i would probably be pretty annoyed too. sheldon's obliviousness never ceases to amaze me. In a way, the two of us are similar in the sense that we both have asperger's syndrome (or at least for sheldon shows many symptoms of it). I will say I do like how sheldon keeps growing in each season though, without changing him too much. he's still sheldon.

anyways, that is my review for this episode. this is the first review i have posted for the show on this forum. let me know what you guys think about it.
