Cecilia
To me Mayim and Melissa were total scene stealers tonight. While everyone was great, these two women were totally on fire. I laughed so hard from them. Both were awesome. ^^ This. I actually thought the L/P interaction especially when they were looking over the script was one of their better moments. They were discussing if Penny should do the movie. Leonard was the one that thought she should do it. She seemed to listen to him and I thought he was the reason that she did it. You appear to be in the minority in regards to liking the episode. I think at times, and I've done this too, that you look for something specific to happen and when it doesn't you're disappointed. Just a theory. I said earlier that I laughed hard and totally enjoyed the episode. And I'm not a big Raj and Sheldon fan. Actually if I am correct Leonard was the only one who clearly suggested that she should take the job. Even Wheaton went back and forth whether that would be the right decision. I think it's pretty sweet she took Leonard's advice. I can see great development since she told him that it actually never occured to her to ask him about her important desicions. I think it was the Occupation Recalibration not sure tho excuse me if I am wrong. I liked it cause I think she realized that Leonard is the one who cares the most and that's why he took his advice. Or that's my head canon and I am not letting it go Edited April 4, 2014 by Cecilia

Or that's my head canon and I am not letting it go I agree. There was a big discussion on the L/P thread about her quitting TCF without consulting Leonard. Most were mad. Recently there's been complaining that their relationship is no further along than at the end of last season. This episode seems to kill two birds with one in regards to that. koops
Now that you mention it I do remember Wil's cameo in Nemesis - and I agree that Nemesis as well as Insurrection were the weakest of the Star Trek movies, I haven't seen either in a long time though, so maybe my opinion would improve on a rewatch - I wish they could have at least worked Wesley into First Contact, that was a great movie, they could have left him behind to help Cochran with his work or something - I hope they can work him into the new series of Star Trek films, but in any case I am glad that he has a recurring gig on TBBT - the Wil Wheaton episodes are always a lot of fun I might be in the minority who doesn't mind Nemesis all that much. I think the concept was pretty good, and I liked the acting, but it dragged on too much and was not executed at its full potential, IMO. I still think the worst of all ST movies is The Motion Picture. Good Lord.
Cecilia
Well, it's my birthday and I'm toasted, but I'll try to make one coherent point here because I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet: the dialogue during the kiss was just masterfully laden with the witty type of flirting I love from old black-and-white movies, particularly the Thin Man couple, Nick and Nora. Have I mentioned something "lights up." - in the middle of a kiss No. Oh I want to reassure you IT DOES. I mean, DO YOU GET IT? The innuendo there is simply superb. Bravo to the writers for that whole moment, every single thing about it was delightful. Funny, Chrismo, that you missed the gorilla gloves! I wonder what could motivate such selective observation. In any case, thanks for the compliment. Wow, I did NOT see that and I read sexual innuendo into everything! Awesome point! (I was an English major as well, so shame on me!) Happy belated birthday! What???????? OMG that never occured to me!!!!! Ohhh I watch that scene under a whole different light right now!!!!!!!! Thanks for bringing it up guys!!!!! So this is a whole new era fellas, now we so totally know Sheldon's deal...

Like Raj says, the standard against which all badness is measured. Though it did have some nice scenery at the beginning...

It's not about that, some mentioned (in caps no less) something that is going to happen in next weeks episode. Check the end of SuperLexi's point 1 on the previous page. I stopped reading there. Upon rewatching the kiss yet again, I noticed Sheldon slightly raises his eyebrows after delivering the "lights up" line. A Shamy version of "nudge, nudge, wink wink, know what I mean..."? Lionne
Can we keep this spoiler free? Some ppl are unspoiled... Chiany - Once something hits promo status, it's no longer considered a spoiler. SuperLoveLexi made reference to the fact Sheldon gets his hair cut and styled by Penny, and Amy objects to it since it makes him too cute. That promo was run during last night's episode and has been on television and the internet since then. Hence, that particular moment is no longer a spoiler, and SuperLoveLexi is not in the wrong to mention it.

Luckyboy
This episode made me wonder, how many people under 30 actually know what Betamax was? (Not that it would interfere with the joke if they didn't.) Lol, Me! under 30 and actually know what a Betamax is.. I fit in that category, Though I saw a Betamax after I grew up with VHS, then wondered "why did they make a Betamax after VHS". At least its more compact than a VHS. =)
Frieda Rainstorm
For me it was one of the best episodes of the whole series. I laughed so hard... Loved especially: -- The Butter Scene. Please, Emmy for Mayim's Amy!! -- The Shamy-kiss. So nerdy, original, sweet and full of love. -- The Shamy-closeness in the Best Buy scene. The leaning, the coin, all the touching and support. -- Bernadett's story, Amy's "LOL Right?" and her facial expression. Plus Penny's "I like my odds here." -- Bernie's "I like the Wii" and Sheldon's "Thanks, grandma". It's rare to see their interractions, and for me they seemed close funny friends at the moment. Plus Penny's "Uhh?" -- Remily. I hope Emily stays. Already adore her! And for the bonus: her similarity to Amy. So, I'd love to observe how the gang will react to her, esp. Penny and Sheldon. Can't wait... -- Howardett's "YES!" -- Raj's story about stars. Aw... Edited April 5, 2014 by Frieda Rainstorm

When I was in college, the recording guys in the recital hall for my senior recital made a cassette tape for me, but they also gave me the Betamax tape because it had the original sound recording from which they'd made the cassette. I think they said that it recorded the sound more cleanly as the original source. When I was in grad school, I got a reel-to-reel original recording. Come to think of it, I'm not sure the grad school guys made a cassette for me... I still have those original museum artifacts...
Queenfisher
I just have to say this is the best episode of the season for me. There are many scenes where I laughed out loud. Almost all of them to be honest. The promo summary in a website was very misleading though. I thought there was a nerd showdown between Sheldon and some nerd. SSGirl
I really liked this episode. I'll admit right now I watched twice in a row and then my mom was like "ok we've seen it twice now let's watch something else" lol so naturally I went to my room and started working on my BBT fanfic Edited April 5, 2014 by SSGirl
mjc45
bernies-problems with the card to sign, amy-pass the butter OVER THE TOP. i like lucy, but like to see how far they will go with emily looks like a good match. amy is a good gf to stay with sheldon at best buy-it was sweet. how great was it for leonard to sit with penny and to run her lines with her
djsurrey
Great episode despite there was no physics. The butter scene, the card scene and the tag scene were the funniest. Good stuff. Had some trouble with the VOD so I did not get to see it run without streaming issues until today. Nice to see Raj with someone who is willing to take him where he is at. Irene
I think we need to teach people what filler means. lmao Well, clearly it means an episode where there is plot or character development in all 3 storylines, judging from the comment above.
