All I got was "Agitation"

I am going to throw this out there as a "prediction" of sorts.

It looks like all of the reasons Sheldon left in the 7 finale are being addressed in season 8.  So I am going to throw this out for the next title:

The Cohabitation Agitation

my second guess is:

Engagement Agitation

I don't miss Bazinga and I thought their "Isn't this when he says Bazooka or something?" line in 8x03 was the writers' way to say they don't miss it either. I don't think they planned on it becoming such a catchphrase and it seems to me like they are trying to steer clear of it after they realized it did.

When people say "I love you", most of  the time they've had sex. Or had a heavy make-out session. Or even gone to second-base. Shamy hasn't done any of these things (that we know of) and they still say they love each other. OH GAWSH. They're so emotionally close and special and loved up. I love them so much! :')

I disagree with this to some degree. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but among the people I know, people generally say ILY BEFORE sex, at least.

That's one thing that has always killed me about this show, that L/P would have had sex so many times before either of them said ILY--seemed so totally backward to me and kind of cheapens sex down to something as casual as kissing. 3 dates=sex is something that may be modern, but it's still not the norm for many people. Believe it or not, some people still wait until after marriage to have sex.

So I'm very glad that we got their ILYs before they'd gone very far. IMO, that's the way it should be, and once again they are set apart from the other couples in how they are experiencing their relationship.

I like the rhythm of the first one, but I don't know that they'll address the cohabitation issue so soon again.

I'm wondering if the next episode will continue the Howard/Stuart conflict.

Oh man! Guess I'm alone here ;) I'll just have to watch the reruns of Sheldon in the ball pit to get my Bazinga fix. It cracks me up EVERY time.

Anyway, back to Shamy. I can't believe we have to wait 2 weeks. Then I thought, is there any possibility they filmed this out of order--some people thought the ILY seemed too soon. This is really airing in 2 weeks, right?

I just am floored! I have no guesses as to where they will go next. I thought the big moment this season was going to be the ILY. Yet we are only at episide 7 which is the point last year with the "I like you quirks and all" came in and lead to the SIK. Which leads me to believe one of two things A. They are building up to something even bigger with them or the much less popular B. They are planning some sort of cooling off with nothing big happening or some turbulence to set things off track.

The Cohabitation Agitation

That is what is great about this title (if I can say so myself)

It can address the Howard/Stuart conflict since he is living with Debbie

While I would not swap Shamy for any other couple on the show (or on tv for that matter... and yes, as heretic as it may sound, there are days like this where they are seriously challenging M&S as my #1 OTP --- out of 2 LOL), I also don't agree that Lenny's relationship is somewhat cheaper just because they had sex many times before saying ILY. It's not about sex, sex isn't the be all and end all of all things, or some kind of mythical grail that represents everything for the couple. It's about the connection with the other person, and for some people, like Lenny, that connection manifests itself physically first whereas for others, like Shamy, it manifests itself intellectually/emotionally first. While it's not my cup of tea AT ALL, there's nothing wrong with enjoying casual, consensual sex first and if it then blossoms into real full blown love then that's an added bonus.

To me, what makes Shamy special, isn't at all the fact that it's taking them so long to have sex. To use the same old metaphor for the hundreth time, what's special about them is that special connection between two people who were humans in a world of dogs and stumbled upon the only other member of their species. They could have had sex right there and then in that coffee shop (or never), and they wouldn't have been any less special to me.

I keep thinking about this butt slap.. I mean where the hell did that come from!??!? Especially after such an emotional moment.bmaybe something to satisfy his urges?

And I an DYING at him embracing her during the photo. It's if we weren't already struggling to live right now.

I'm sure they had an awesome off screm kiss at the end of the night ;)

I hate to admit this, but I am feeling a bit the same.  After the first OMG, WOW and all the other good feels for this episode, the glass half empty side of me is starting to worry.

As I mentioned earlier, I did initially think that this was an Amy dream sequence, as another poster has pointed out, all her dreams seem to have come true.  What with her being all dressed up  looking like a princess, having pretty friends, her bestie having a loving moment with her SO, and Amy herself attending a prom with HER perfect boyfriend who then tells her he loves her.  I keep wondering (to quote Sheldon) has she (or I) been hit on the head with a coconut.

Much as I loved the scene and how it is likely to pan out when aired, I continue to be surprised that this epic moment for them has come so early in this season, we are not yet a 1/3rd of the way through, so I am now getting really very nervous about how this is going to go forward.  The reason being that I had the same glow following the SIK and the episode immediately after had him tying to break up with Amy because she was making him a more affectionate and open minded person, and her manipulating him into staying with her - not one of my favourite episodes.

So I am really trying to keep my glass half full and am hanging on to every word typed by fellow forum members who are more analytical and able to come up with positive scenarios to take this forward.

Sorry folks

ETA - I am more than happy to be shot down in flames here  ....... please

Do any of you think Sheldon will have to deal with losing Leonard as a roommate earlier than expected? And if the pressure of sex is off his shoulders, maybe that'll translate into him being more open to the idea of living with Amy.

I personally think Lenny won't live together before the wedding, and that'll be at the end of this season or maybe even next season. But when that will happen, Shamy will definitely move in together, and that can be comedy gold. I don't see other options, apart from Stuart, lol.

It does seem like some sort of dream sequence! Like in Romance Resonance and I was spoiler free and I was wigging out thinking they were going to kiss and it was all a dream. I keep waiting for someone to say there was some secret tag scene and it all happened in Amy's mind.

As a side note man am I disappointed I had to go to sleep and missed the thing in chat about Sheldon's urges and it being his idea to embrace her. I am going to be floating on a cloud til this episode comes out.

I kind of hope they move Leonard in with Penny this season. I think we'd get some good episodes out of his preparing to move, him actually moving and adjusting to life with Penny, Sheldon living alone, and finally Sheldon inevitably having Amy live with him. The writers could get a wealth of comedy out of all of that change if they wanted.

I don't think there well be any set backs, I just think for a few episode its going to move as slowly as molasses on a cold winter's morning.. We've dealt with that before, Doesn't bother me to much If they feel they need to go a little slowly after ILY    I'm just going to hold on to my Shamy ILYs and let them figure it out from there....

Ditto for me. Now that they've had this huge development I think they're good for a while. No setbacks but I think they'll be on a status quo burn til at least the latter quarter of this season. Which is fine, in character and makes perfect sense from a writer's perspective as well as a character development perspective.

I keep thinking Batman is going to suddenly say "Bazinga!" or something, and that the taping report was falsified. No offense to Batman, of course, it just really does seem too good to be true! I'm not too worried about them doing something like last season with the table episode though, because in this one it's clear that Sheldon has been thinking about his feelings for a while, and he seems confident when he tells her he loves her. The playful but slap confirms the comfort level, and combined with the fact that Amy has taken the pressure off, I think they can both be more relaxed around each other. As long as this episode really IS real, then I'm not too worried about much else. I do think they'll put more focus on some of the other characters for a bit now. I stated before that they will still have ups and downs, of course, but I think their next hurdles will be more about Sheldon coming to terms with his own urges and how Amy responds to that. Hopefully no more "lack of sex" jokes, but them growing and getting closer to that goal together. I do understand that fear though since so much greatness is happening so early, but I would really hope the writers wouldn't cheapen their own amazing moment by doing a repeat of what they did before.

I agree with phanta, to some extent. Most people have sex before they say ILY, but let me tell you right now that there is nothing that compares to having sex with the person you love and who, you know, loves you back.

I liked Bazinga, but only when it wasn't related to something he said to Amy. I mentioned in the chat yesterday that I was still fearing the Bazinga after that confession, but it never came and it never will. Now we have different stuff to look foward to, like Sheldon acting like a man in love.

And about sex...yeah I can see Amy having cold feet.
