I have hope for the season in general... But the first few episodes? Not necessarily. Sorry but I was one of those who got badly burned by hoping too high for the finale and I ain't going there again. That's why I'm cruising in neutral for now. My heart can't take another huge letdown.

Exactly, Caffeine Buzz.

My biggest fear is that the writers are going to treat Amy with the same meanness and distain they did at the end of the season. That's actually what my real expectations are.

Yeah I just don't trust that the writers have Amy's interests even remotely on mind so I refuse to set myself up for a letdown. This way by being neutral I can call them out without bias if anything really mean spirited goes down.

Funny enough I was ok with the start of last season. Though I am definitely a ShAmy shipper I was happily rolling along taking their progress as it came. However it was not until the Valentine’s Day kiss that I started to expect more movement in their relationship. This sadly did not happen, if fact the way Amy manipulated Sheldon in the table episode felt wrong to me – somehow not totally honest, and Sheldon’s 'slick' comment seemed nasty and OOC (at least with me).

It felt as if the writers set us up, then pulled the carpet from under us and following the build up to the finale I was totally gutted at the end.

Also the fact that two of the what (I thought) would be great ShAmy bloopers have not been included in the gag real seems to confirm that tptb will not be concerned too much with ShAmy this year and are in fact trying to gloss over them a little.

Normally I am a glass half full gal, but in connection with tbbt and ShAmy I am now a glass half empty lass.

Another whinge over, I too will try to keep neutral this season but do not hold out too much hope on this.

Sorry for writing sloppy language now, I just try to post something anyway although feeling quite tired.
I try to keep my expectations low as well. I am happily surprised if there are good moments for Amy and Shamy this season. If I consider the Shamy plot lines from season 6 and 7... Some of them make sense to me, some don't at all. I liked some of the scenes and storylines, but some... not that much. For instance, I like Indecision amalgamation and the next episode where Sheldon breaks up with String theory, I think those are my favourites for the season 7. But for example, I didn't understand the episode where there was Bert storyline, why to bring him up in the first place, because that story didn't lead anywhere. To show Amy's loalty to Sheldon? To this day, to our knowledge, Sheldon doesn't even know about Bert.

Also I don't like it when they sacrifice Amy's background story and  it's continuity for a sake of a cheap joke, like when he told Raj she was desperately longing for companion before meeting Sheldon. We all know that was not the case, at all. I don't like it when they make her look pathetic. Where is Amy, brilliant scientist woman we used to know? Where is the time she was compatible with Sheldon and could defend herself with him? Where is that Amy gone?  We have seen only few and short glimpses of that nowadays anymore. I don't like the idea, that Sheldon, his relationship agreement and how he has treated her has changed Amy and bound her feeling presumably sad and frustrated, and probably also very tired to the situation of their relationship at hand. I don't mean she is perfect and haven't made any mistakes herself in the relationship, but for me it is more because of Sheldon how the relationship is right now, than because of Amy.

I really don't know what to expect now when the new season is starting. I just hope there could be more emphasis on Amy and Shamy this season, so that the writers won't notice later on, that they kept dragging it out too long and they won't get even near the goal they had planned for them - or it would come across as forced trajectory to their relationship. The point for me is not even to see "getting them somewhere". I only hope I could continue enjoying and watching the show and this trip with Shamy, so that they could have the happiness together they used to have, enjoying each other's company and working together in science.
Somehow I feel the writers don't quite see it clearly from their point of view how Amy's treatment comes across to many viewers. They possibly like it themselves, but I know the great amount of (shamy) fans don't. So from now on I'll try to keep a healthy distance to Shamy and not becoming emotionally too attached to them during the season. I love them of course, but I just can't watch Amy suffering and treated poorly by writers. That girl has had enough and beyond her share of life's difficulties. Also, I have to wonder, where is Sheldon who used to go bravely to fight with his former enemy, to defend her honour? Where is Sheldon, who was willing to say sorry, who was buying her a tiara, initiated a hand holding (!!) during Howard's launch, was willing to hug and comfort her on her time of need? I think he is there somewhere though, buried under his current problems. I just hope things could start finally changing for the better for Shamy in season 8.

I believe that there are a number of ShAmy fans intending to become less emotionally involved with their relationship this season – maybe that this the aim of the writers as in my opinion (but then I am prejudiced) ShAmy seems to have taken front stage in the relationships on the programme, and this, I think, was not the writers intention.

Still (being cynical) there are (hopefully) 3 more seasons left and they will have to fill them more than just the ups and downs of Lenny.

Not being very neutral here am I !!!

Have you guys read the article where Molaro spills the beans about season 8? Think it was from tv guide. The one where he says Sheldon going away would have been completely pointless if there wasn't gonna be some change? He also says the living arrangement is gonna be a fun area to poke at and experiment with. I posted the screen shots but realised its against the rules here and I can't find a link to the article. Thinks its only available in the magazine so far.

Is this from awhile ago or new? I remember hearing Steve say this somewhere else a month ago or so. But that's exciting !

I only have the screenshots but there's no date on them, so can't tell from when it is! But yeah I thinks its pretty new. There are things I've never heard or read before. It's 4 pages long.

I was mostly excited about what he said about the living arrangements, that they're gonna play around with it. Think it could make a lot of entertaining stories. Also good to hear that Sheldon's trip will matter. That's a relief.

The stuff he said about Shamy wasn't really anything new I thought.. but for once Molaro didn't word him self that poorly :p
