One thing also reminded me a lot of Penny and Amy, when Kirsten's ex boyfriend is trying to mentor her and tell her that people are getting bored and don't care about her babbling away about physiology. So much of that reminds me of the way Penny as been "coaching" Amy to navigate social situations. There was definitely a lot in this article that reminded me of Sheldon and Amy, not just as a couple but as characters. You hands start to hurt after a while, they get sweaty easily, you don't know that the other person's hand is clean, their hand may be too cold/hot, your hand gets hot after a while or there's too much/little pressure from the other person's hand. Kissing can be a sensation thing especially if the person is very sensitive to touching on their face or just touching in general. The person with the aversion could also have a very strong sense of smell and it doesn't matter how fresh someone's breath is they still can't handle it. Mayim didn't express her opinion in the way I expected but she posted that photoshopped picture and their selfie on IG, FB, and twitter. I think both of them love this relationship.
