TheShamyShipper
One of my favorite Shamy moments last season was when she leaned against him while he was trying to decide on a gaming system. It was very casual, which shows they're getting much more comfortable touching. Good point. I really liked that too. I'd like to see more of those moments. tmp
Me too! I love that scene so much for that very reason. Can you imagine earlier seasons Sheldon letting that happen? He's really gotten so comfortable with her. I watched Shiny Trinket the other day, and the difference between then and now is *really* striking. MTBigBangTheoryFan
I have to admit that I don't recall any backtracking with Sheldon. I don't know what peoples are talking about when they say "one step forward, two steps back. I am often confuse when peoples say this. Can you give any examples? And the Table Episode had nothing to do with backtracking if I get what peoples are saying. I think sometimes peoples read too much into a episode or a certain line that said. I think it's not so much backtracking as they didn't really do anything with it. Well he did go to break up with her but I also agree after reading through these comments that he probably would have gone running back as soon as he realized what a mistake it was. I think what people here are saying is now that the ILY is out there they want to see more development and not a complete stall. I for one would like to see just a casual hand hold or hug from them. Maybe we will see it in the last November episode....who knows. Just don't let them go back to the status quo....there needs to be some movement however small. JourneyIntoShamy
Who saw the finished version of the ILY (not the taping, but as part of the whole episode?) Did they keep the audience's reaction to the ILY?

TheShamyShipper
I hope they did! It's nice, adds to the enormity of it. Agreed. I really think they need to have the audience's reaction in big moments like those. Typically they don't remove them. I think I could hear some reaction on the playback, but the rest of us were drowning it out. I think the only thing they removed the reaction for was the second SIK and that was because Jim was trying to say his line during it.
tmp
I wondered about that myself, because there was no audience reaction when Penny told Leonard she loved him. Maybe it was just that the way the scene played out was different, though.

(excuse my ignorance, have not been on as of late), there is a SIK in Prom Equivalency?!no, it's a reference to the second SIK last season. They did it twice because the audience made so much noise sheldon couldn't say his lines

Maybe it was just that the way the scene played out was different, though. It could have either been that the audience had a delayed reaction or they may have asked them to stay silent on the second take. At the taping a week ago, there were times when they asked us not to say "aww" or even cheer. I think usually that happens when a scene is supposed to be funny overall though and not a tender moment, so I'm not sure why that would happen with the Lenny ILY.Wait! Sometimes The Audience can be too loud or their reaction (Cheering, Clapping, whistling, yelling, etc,) can go on for too long as well and they will have to cut part of it. A lot of TV Shows in the 1970s had very Obnoxious Audience even at very inappropriate times. Shows like All In the Family, Good Times, Happy Days, Three's Company, Sanford and Son, Jeffersons, Maude and Mary Tyler Moore Show have some of the most obnoxious Audiences ever and the audience would go on forever and sometimes for too long leaving the actors just standing there waiting for the Audience to stop. In the 1980s they had to start editing and cutting Audience reactions time and telling them when and when no to Cheer, Yell, etc,

On shows like I Love Lucy and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Not sure why you think it wasn't until the 80s.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I think part of it was that the audience was shocked at Penny saying she loved him. The very next scene, when Leonard walks into the apartment and said, "She Loves Me", had to be shot several times because the audience kept going "Awwwwwwww". They finally told them not to say anything.

That's true. I have a friend who insists on believing that there's a laughter track. I told him there isn't and he said "you tried to defend the show because you are a big fan". I don't get why peoples claim or think that the show has a Laugh track. even after you show them proof they say they are still right. Some even think they added Laugh track to bloopers. Personally peoples who think it a laugh track are not really fans of the show imo. These are the same Peoples who insist Seinfeld never had a Laugh Track when it did in the last couple seasons.
