In a few odd little coincidences, I have recently bumped up against the TS Eliot poem, "The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock", and reading about it led me to the Rudyard Kipling poem, "The Love Song of Har Dyal", which got me thinking.

I see Mayim posted on FB that she and JP posted another pic together on IG.  Rather than go to all the trouble of digging out my old account, I just came over here scrolling through avatars to look for the pic.  How is it possible that it's not all over this site by now?  Shamy fans, you're falling down on the job.

tmp, she's referring to the new pic, the one Rachel has as her avatar, but she also referred to the smooch pic from the CCTV awards.  There are actually 3 pics of them together because the did 2 that night, and then this one.

Sheldon comes back and the group gather at 4a to greet him, at the end of the night he kisses Amy in his spot, either with the gang still there or most likely when they are alone

Haha you are right!! Tbh I don't care whethet the gang will ever witness a hug or kiss between them but it could be funny so it's a possibility. And they would flip out lol!!!

Well, I think Amy should be impossible(like Sheldon said) with him. He leave her(and them) without explication... but when he arrives I want he run to hug Amy or kiss her... but a real kiss... like the train is good, but I want to see another tipe of kiss. With passion this time. Maybe It is much, but I'd like it...

This season I wanna see a Sheldon jealouse. He need learn a leson. I wanna see a progresion, Amy have to love herself....and then Sheldon. I dont know english so well,I hope you all understand what I mean.

PDA?? Sorry I guess it's something easy but I can't think what it means. If you mean if they are private about their personal moments. I think they will be when they happen but maybe don't mind talking about them. Sheldon talked about the kiss to Leonard and apparently Amy did the same with Penny. I don't know I think all the possibilities are open. If the gang ever witness such a scene though I kinda expect a "we do that grow up" moment from Sheldon.

I've been thinking about Shamy and here's what I think it could go.

 

Sheldon gets home (I'm gonna skip the when, the why and the how and just go straight to him in the apartment with everybody). They all think he could be somehow different/changed, but he's same old Sheldon complaining that people sit on his spot and talking about how much everybody must've been lost without him. They have dinner and then everyone starts leaving. Then it's Shamy and Lenny and they talk about what Sheldon will be doing in the university now, etc. Then Lenny leaves and Amy says Sheldon's probably tired so she's going to leave too. She gets to the door and Sheldon calls her name. She turns around to see him getting up from his spot and coming up to her. Then he just hugs her. She just stands there patting him in the back. Then he turns around and says: Goodnight Amy and marches off to his room.

 

 

On an unrelated topic Dennis Kim totally saw String Theory being a dead end back in season 1 LOL

My guess is that Sheldon would prefer to be private about it, although he did not mind kissing her openly on the train. But in general, I think that Sheldon is struggling with his self-identity, and who he thinks he is or was or wanted to be, and who he is actually becoming. And the fact that whatever he is changing into is something different then what he knows of himself, first of all, which makes him uncomfortable, which is change in-and-of itself which also makes him uncomfortable, and change into something he never thought he was going to be - someone who was physically intimate with another person - which will make him a hypocrite of sorts. He will probably prefer to not be openly physically affectionate; I think that physical intimacy is something Sheldon will want to explore privately and without anyone else knowing until he's ready for them to know. When he is, though, it'll be interesting to see how he handles it. Just the fact that "he kisses girls now" was something he really only confessed to Leonard, and then to his imaginary BFF and idol, Stephan Hawking, while dead drunk. He was upset that Amy had told Penny, and the way he confessed it to Hawking had an element of child-like bragging to it. Just like it was rather immature and inappropriate bragging when he told Amy's co-workers they had a physical relationship that involved hand-holding. The way he brags is encouraging, because he's happy about it and proud of his own progress, which is nice, but it's not the fully accepting attitude of a mature man quite yet. But, you know. Baby steps. He's making progress...(or was. We'll see where he ends up in the new season.)

 

Amy could go a few different ways, but I suspect she will want their physical intimacy to be Very open in the beginning and might change her mind about it later. In fact, that could make for a pretty funny episode. The way that Amy was bullied and mocked most of her life, she definitely has a chip on her shoulder and something to prove to almost everyone she knows about her desirability. She's gotten the message that she's sexually undesirable her whole life and faced a lot of rejection, and even gone to great lengths to try to appease her family about it, like lying about Arman the miniature horse breeder. She wanted to show off Sheldon to her family, because it sounds like they have pressured her and made fun of her for not having a boyfriend and she really wanted to prove that she caught one - indeed, she was already being teased and persistently nagged by her family that Sheldon didn't really exist. Who wouldn't grow a chip on their shoulder over such treatment? She wants the general public to know she and Sheldon are boyfriend/girlfriend via various ways, like a couples costume or holding hands at the movies or date nights that feature contact which a casual observer would deem romantic. It's rather important to her to show the world she can actually catch herself a man. And not just any man, but the amazing creature of towering intellect and hot stuff which is Sheldon Cooper.

 

But, once Amy gets over some of those old insecurities, she might want to put the public displays of affection on the shelf. In fact, I can see an episode where she's needling Sheldon to kiss her in public and hold hands in public, everywhere they go and then she smiles at other women like "see, I'm just as desirable as you!" and it's driving everyone a bit crazy and disgusting people until Amy has to watch Bernadette and Howard, or Penny and Leonard, make out in front of her, and after a long moment of being grossed out she's like, "yeah, okay, over it." And she doesn't care about public displays of affection any longer; she basically puts that whole insecurity and issue to rest. Which would be a relief.

 

But both of them are very proud of the fact they have managed to stumble into this relationship anyway, and both of them are proud of the milestones regarding physical contact that they have managed to achieve so far. So they could be into public displays of affection, at least for awhile, but in the long run it really doesn't seem very them to be all touchy-feely in general, let alone in public.

 

We'll see what the new season holds.

As I posted in another thread, for me, this season will be GREAT and WONDERFUL for SHAMY( kisses, hugs, mutual ILY, make out),  but I don´t expect BIG things during the two first episodes.   May be a light kiss or a hug, but no more(.I bet for episodes 5 to 10, or when we never expect)

I don't need PDA's. It's enough they kiss in front of us once in a while. I'd like to have them get back to their odd intellectualism, their glee at being smarter than other people, human experimentation. I'd like to see them working as a team.

 

But then I'd like the whole group to have a common foe this year. Maybe that jerk at the other comic book store. It would be a lot of fun to watch them pool their resources to wreck havoc.
