I disliked certain parts of the end of last season but I am going into this one with an open mind, there will be ups and downs with shamy but in the end they will be fine

I like very much that attidute Rach!! It's impossible for us to like everything the writers do but the important thing is for the overall impression of the season to be positive. That happened with season seven and for me it was more than positive even if I didn't like everything. I think the same will happen with season 8 the writers know what they do!!

Towards the back end of last session, the writers dropped hints that to me sounded like we would have a great final and I was soooooooo disappointed that it wasn't the good shamy finale I was expecting

This season I will be happy with a little increase on their relationship and enjoy it more

Yes bailing Sheldon out of jail does sound like a duty specifically assigned to Amy in the relationship agreement, doesn't it? F--k sentiment. This is a contractural obligation, people.

Either way, I agree with you guys, it would be completely pointless to make Sheldon leave just to have no progress made. His relationship with Amy is, in my opinion, his most important one.

Those who took the WB tour yesterday were shown a police station set for the show.

If Sheldon will be in a police station for some reason, then there is a big chance to see Amy there as his emergency contact.

Sheldon has proved at some point (don't ask episode, I just can recall the scene lol) that he doesn't want to hinder Amy, but has no problem whatsoever hindering Leonard. It was to drive him somewhere lol.

But if Sheldon were to get arrested, he would call Leonard, not Amy. Perhaps simply not to hinder Amy at some odd hour, or perhaps shame. Who knows, just that thinking about it, I really don't see Sheldon calling Amy to bail him out.

Brandibug, I would tend to agree with you. If it is up to him, then he'll definitely bother Leonard first out shame.

 

If for some reason it is out of his hands,  all the cops know is they have Dr. Sheldon Cooper from Caltech on their hands. That will lead to Amy.

 

Then he'll brazen it out, act like she had no choice because of the contract. Why should he be embarrassed because of his hobo circumstances?

In  7 x 18 (six episodes ago)  Amy told the gang they have a written committment to support each other during financial crisis  and changing career. May be we´ll see it in next episodes!  ( It is another SHAMY off screen moments  that I love so much!!! )

I agree, I think it's partly lack of continuity from the writers (because they want to use their go-to Sheldon-template where he antagonizes everyone) and partly the fact that it's biology. It's fairly realistic of physicists to dismiss other sciences as "lesser sciences". God knows I've had to put up with enough crap like that from physicists I know. Feynman himself, as much as I love the man, put physics on a massive pedestal compared to other sciences (see The Pleasure of Finding Things Out). It's irritating, but, sadly, realistic.
