TheShamyShipper
Yeah, the Lenny parenting him thing is getting a little old. I wish the writers would stop doing that. I get that it's kind of their "funny" little dynamic for the three right now, but Amy really IS making Sheldon a better man. MAN being the operative word. And it would be nice for him not to be coddled quite so much. If anyone's going to do that from time to time, it really should be Amy anyway. IAteAButterfly
I wonder is it certain writers who tend to write childish Sheldon as opposed to super smart, blunt, OCD Sheldon (or more recently, mellowed out romantic Sheldon) or do they all seem to be bipolar when it comes to his character? lol ETA, this isn't meant to be a slam on the writers or the childish characteristics they sometimes bestow on Sheldon. Naiive Sheldon can be very endearing, and is found in some of my favorite episodes. But sometimes his character vacillates too much and it just seems, not exactly lazy of them, but the easiest way to a punchline. kerrycec03
Agreed, and I think this is why Amy is doing things like teaching him to drive. She has no intention of being his parent, or taking his crap, and he's becoming a better man for it. Good for her. (This is also why one of my favorite Shamy moments is the apology scene in her lab.) agreed!! She is the one that gets him to move 3 steps forward while he then sometimes retreats to his sutto Mommy & Daddy 1 step back (hey it used to be 2 steps back so progress) I do think the writers do this for two reasons. For obvious laughs, but also a way to get scenes with the big 3 now that the dynamics have changed with Lenny being engaged and Sheldon moving further along with Amy. Unfortunately this show well always be remembered for Leonard, Penny, Sheldon. So I don't think they well ever let it go. But I do agree it should be dropped from time to time. Amy should be the one coddling him tbh. Without Amy I Think Sheldon would still be the wannabe robot, and I guess purists would love it, but Amy has brought out a new side to Sheldon I don't think even the writers were prepared for. And I think for Jim he was getting bored of the first Four Season's Sheldon. Bringing Mayim into the fold really changed things for him IMO. rachelshamyfan
There are some that just won't accept that Sheldon is changing, did they really think he was going to stay the same forever? The whole premise of the show is that they come out of their social awkwardness, Sheldon will still have a few weird and funny quirks but he can have a girlfriend as well
BespectacledBrunette
I would like to see the Lenny/Sheldon dynamic move more toward a mentoring relationship than a parenting one. The way Leonard and Penny both talked to him before prom, for example, maintained their respective character dynamics and acknowledged L/P's more advanced relationship knowledge without treating Sheldon like a baby. At least in my opinion. And Skull, I agree that Mayim joining the show was great for both Jim as an actor (giving him a wider range of scenarios and emotions to portray) and for Sheldon as a character. Seeing Sheldon grow has been one of the most enjoyable parts of the show for me.
dana1010
Just for fun, this is what the brain scan cap thing that Sheldon was wearing throughout the episode looked like. He looked really funny wearing it, and after one scene the make up artist took it off his head and his hair got all messed up. I mean messed up in a good way. I like messed up Jim/Sheldon hair. Jiab
For some reasons that picture got me thinking of "Does volunteering for a scientific experiment in which orgasm was achieved by electronically stimulating the pleasure center of the brain count?" Cecilia
That ep has Amy and electrodes and no one could fail with that. I love it that she help him with that!! In general it doesn't sound like the most original episode but it could be really funny. Emily or Cinnamon will be for sure!!! Also I've been thinking the "while you were asleep Amy took off her..." comment and I am not sure if that really happened or Leonard made it up. For example I doubt that Penny would ever use Sheldon's toothbrush.

I doubt the toothbrush too, why didn't she use Leonard's? Edited December 18, 2014 by Jiab
dana1010
I like to believe the "while you were sleeping Amy took off her....." actually happened. Then again, we will probably never know.

I doubt the toothbrush too, why didn't she use Leonard's? Yeah I thought of that too. It would be more logical to use Leonard's toothbrush and a little less gross. Also why would Amy take of anything while he is asleep? And how would Leonard know? Okay maybe Penny told him but still it sounds like teasing to me. Also maybe a way from the writers to warm us up in the idea.

As a non-drinker, or so he claims, I can see a double date with Lenny and the three of them getting drunk, with him having to drive them home.Oh and the other one that would be good, is him buying his first car. The indecision he had over the gaming console would be nothing compared to buying his own car.
TwinkleTwinkleTiara
I kinda feel sad for Sheldon that the writers have made him struggle with his work since long time ago but nothing achievement. Come on writers, Sheldon is a genius, he deserves some great success!

But they always bring someone to bring him down to earth. Like S1 the Asian Kid haha.

tmp
I kinda want Amy to be the one who gets a Nobel They need to find a project to work on together, and both of them get a Nobel. Better yet, it's a gigantic project that somehow (I know, I know, it wouldn't make sense scientifically but that's never stopped them before) involved all the gang, even Penny, and they were all co-winners of a Nobel. Jamie
Yeah the serie is gonna end with Sheldon and Amy sharing a nobel prize and they're all gonna come here to Stockholm and record it live and also Shamy will celebrate it by getting married right here on the spot and I'll be a stand in as maid of honor. So yeah thats happening.

frankie
Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but in 2014 a husband and wife team won the Nobel Prize in medicine together. However, they are both neuroscientists. She wore a beautiful dress to the ceremony that reminded me of the neuron drawing Alex got for him to give to Amy for Valentine's Day.
