kerrycec03 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Koops, I think you are right. I've never heard him mention anything great about the Amy character. But we'll see at this years Comic Con. Even though he'd proably rather answer questions about Lenny's engagement, the real "cliffhanger" is Sheldon leaving...and what that will do for everything INCLUDING his relationship with Amy. I'm sure it will be asked....unless Prady takes the question more. Sidenote, I just feel from numerous clips & interviews I've seen on youtube that Molaro is more of the flirty girl fan...if that makes sense. Like he laughs & giggles with Melissa & Kaley....And Mayim is far from that kind of girl. Not saying that results in his writing or comments.... rachelshamyfan Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Question Will we see Sheldon back home in episode 1 or two?
alexaaa Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 My wish is his comeback to be more like a cliffhanger or instead of begining of the episode to be at the end of the episode.
Chiany Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) I think we will see him return at the end of ep 1, Amy will hear his 3 knocks on her door (but we don't see or hear him). Edited July 13, 2014 by Chiany

Cecilia Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I would like to see him on his journey. If they have an interesting and funny story about that I wouldn't mind if there were two episodes with Sheldon away. But I think it will be like season 7 with Leonard. He will probably be away in the first episode and he will come back in the second one. I hope he will finally understand why Leonard preferred to kiss Penny than spend time with his buddy. Also I hope Amy bonds with Howard over the summer. I know it ain't gonna happen but I can dream.
rachelshamyfan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Yes I want to see him away and working on all the things that made him run
TreesRgreen Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I wonder if he actually did go away. We did not actually see him board a train and only saw that he phoned Amy and we don't (I think) know when that was. May be he is hiding out in Stuarts comic book store! It was at least the next day since Leonard, Penny and Amy were in different clothes when he called. And I can say for certain he is NOT hiding out in Stuarts BURNED comic book store where it (in Sheldon's words) is damp and smells funny. I could see him changing his mind about the train and just hanging out in a local hotel room by himself so he can "get away from everybody & think" but still technically be home. totabcn Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I honestly think Amy is Molaro's least favorite character to write for. He always seems annoyed when people ask questions about her, he has the most underwhelming quotes ("Whatever it is that they have..." and "She actually thinks she has a chance with the guy" taking the cake) and he dismisses her every time she's brought up in interviews so he can redirect attention to other things (i.e. Sheldon and Penny). You never hear stuff like that coming out of Bill's or Chuck's mouth when they're asked about Amy/Shamy, and Bill in particular always loves to point out how impressed he is with how much Amy moves Sheldon and makes him grow. I remember at Paley when someone asked if Meemaw would ever meet and like Amy that Molaro wasn't even so sure about that one. I don't think I've ever heard a good quote come out of him about Amy ever. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I'd love to be wrong on this one. Is he good at writing Shamy scenes? Yes, absolutely. But Shamy scenes are not necessarily Amy scenes. He knows Shamy are a big deal, and he would never be so silly as to ignore them completely, but the impression I get is that he writes them because he has to, rather than because he cares. The D&D was a blatant crumb that had no impact on anything that came after just to shut us up so he could then focus on the most logical outcome for Leonard's trip: Sheldon and Penny becoming two peas in a pod. The fact that Sheldon and Amy are in a relationship doesn't even factor in his mind because they don't have sex, so to him they're not a real relationship (again, "Whatever it is that they have"). Not to mention the total disregard for fact checking when writing about Amy. Again, I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but in these past two years this is the impression I got. An AU where Bill never stopped writing shamy/Amy plots.
rachelshamyfan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 You know Sheldon was so mad at Stuart using sarcasm on him that I seriously thought he might hit him for a moment
Chaliceinnana Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Ew... hotel rooms...I think the burnt out shell of Stuart store is probably cleaner... it's been cleansed in fire, then hosed down.
Kathy2611 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 He's gotta stop and stay somewhere sometime. I see him getting a hotel room every night instead of staying on a train 24/7....unless its one of those sleeper trains.

Would be fun if he returned to Pasadena, and stay at Amy's for a few nights before Leonard (and Penny) figure at he's back. And when they do make a smart ass comment about prefering spending his time kissing Amy vs spending time with his best buddy. I know it won't happen since it would "solve" the living crisis to fast though.
Chaliceinnana Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Kath, He could find inexpensive, clean lodgings on campus if they actually choose to have him work on his career crisis. Summertime there are some empty dorm rooms. He's looking for inspiration, he might find it from different scientists. But I don't know if he's going to do anything logical toward achieving his goals. He's probably still following the Cosmo life plan.
phantagrae Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I now know entirely too much about trains, routes, schedules and sleeping arrangements. He could travel any of several directions out of LA on the train, but since it was evening when he was sitting in the station, the only train leaving in the evening would be the Coast Starlight, heading up the coast. So he could have gotten on that train and gone up to San Francisco, or up toward the hippy lands of Oregon or Washington. He could either sleep in a coach seat, which reclines for sleeping, or reserve a "roomette" and have his own little private room. And there are different connections he could make and go east to Chicago and from there, just about anywhere, since almost every line goes in or out of Chicago. I do wonder how long his journey will end up being--all summer or simply a matter of days or weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if it was at least a couple of weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were all summer, too. I'd kind of like to see him come back with longer hair and a beard, playing hobo, but it's not like he's going to be away from civilization or not have access to at least a razor. As for working on his issues, all he can really decide is whether or not he's going to accept the university's decision and return to String THeory, or continue to appeal, or perhaps try to go to another university, if he's determined to change his focus, and decide whether or not he wants to live alone in 4A, etc.. Since I don't think there's really anything to decide in regard to Amy, apart from whether or not he's ready for her to move in, and there's nothing to decide about the comic book store, I think his principal issue will be simply calming himself in preparation for the coming changes, or figuring out his own terms for how he feels things will be. He is indeed capable of change, as long as he can feel like he's somehow in control of it (hence the Roommate Agreement and the Relationship Agreement, etc.)
Chiany Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Maybe that's why Jim isn't shaving (as much), to have a real bearded Sheldon at the start of the season

Let Sheldon grow out his hair a little. I'm not talking Tarzan-king-of-the-jungle locks. Just a bit of length, an inch or two more than the episode with the bongos. Amy wasn't wrong when she said he'd look sexy. Edited July 17, 2014 by Sheldonoscopy

fitzsimmons Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Heyyy Shamy lovahs! I'm going to Comic Con about a week from today, and I'm still having trouble constructing the wording for my Amy/Shamy question. I want to be careful not to put them on the defensive by bringing up specific issues, but I still want to bring their attention to it somehow. Koops and I have been discussing how to word it, and we're thinking something along the lines of asking if Amy will be happy in season 8, which would sort of force them to question what kind of impact this storyline is having on her happiness. What do you guys think? What sort of language can I use (if I'm lucky enough to get to ask a question) to get the answers we want? kerrycec03 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 hmmm....I think "will we see a equal, aka more 50/50 relationship from the Shamy in season 8?"

What do you guys think? What sort of language can I use (if I'm lucky enough to get to ask a question) to get the answers we want? Something like (a sneaky, two questions in one), "Are you satisfied with the pace at which Sheldon and Amy's relationship is progressing, and with the direction it's going?" Or, if they've already ticked you off, how about, "Have you stopped beating your Shamy, yet?" (Just kidding!) I'd recommend preparing more than one question, at least one of which would be unlikely to have already been asked. Have fun at SDCC! I lived in SD for years and only heard it complained about. My impression is that, in the words of the Star Trek character, "Q", "It's not for the timid."
