Based on what the girls said about the taping, I thought his hand would be a little higher (I know, I am a little obsessed, but hey... can you blame me?)

Again, it freaks me out how,in that promo:

1. Sheldon is NOT on his spot during his makeout session and he's very much ok with it.

2. Penny is on HIS spot and he lets her and Leonard have their happy moment FIRST, before reacting about Penny being on his spot.

 

It may not seem much but there is growth in there.

Me too. I think it might be from the pictures they were taking afterwards and they used the end of the kiss from the pictures as the promo. Could that be it?

Well crickey.. During the scene we saw getting filmed.. His hand was most certainly north like the northern territories.. Its always possible that they shot another kiss without audience.. We skippy's that attended will not be able to tell until its airs next week.

To those of you who went to the taping...would you say the kiss was slow and sweet or more passionate? Hard to tell from promo. But I LOVE the fact that Amy pulled away first!Thank you Kazzie!!!!

I would have to say the kiss was slow, sweet, yet the most passionate kiss I've seen from them for sure. And it lasted QUITE a while.

God! the promo is so good, it also says a lot about Lenny and it's exciting. Too bad we all know how this ends up. Not the fact that we know, the fact that they ended up, well, it wasn't a happy ending for neither of them.

 

 

I've been thinking about something and I'm curious, when the moment comes, I mean Shamy sex, how do you guys think it will be? For us, as the audience. How do you think they are going to let us know?  Do you think there might be a scene before they do it wheh they talk about it and decide to go for it, they then cut to another scene? Or maybe a pillow talk scene?

 

Once I thought about this: Leonard going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, knocking on the door, but he gets no answer, then he knocks again and says something like: Sheldon, I told you not to drink too much water before you go to bed! And then Amy opens the door wearing one of Sheldon's robes and she says: goodnight, Leonard, and she goes back to Sheldon's room.

 

Also, a while ago I wrote a fic about Shamy breaking up and at night, Penny and Leonard are really worried so they go to check on Sheldon in the night and they see him shirtless and sleeping, spooning Amy.

 

I don't know, there are so many ways this could happen. I just want a cuddleling scene in bed. 

However this will be, I'm pretty sure the writers are going to make a WONDERFUL JOB and the moment will be such a MIND-BLOWING MOMENT!

It's gonna be very spontaneous. I think they're gonna pull them out of their comfort zones of planning, planning, and more planning, and make them act upon 'their baser urges' instead of their intellectual side.

 

Who knows? I only know one thing - that good things are in store.

I watched the preview over the roses and mushroom log. Honestly, I thought it was funny and cute. Sheldon and Amy's exchange sounded like an old married couple giving each other a hard time over a topic without any real rancor.

But as for the yellow roses he picked for his Mom, that was not a generic choice but a thoughtful one. There's a very popular old cowboy song called "Yellow Rose of Texas," about a woman who cried when the cowboy left and going home to her and such. Pretty sure that, combined with the care that Sheldon was showing making the arrangement, this was something special he was doing for his beloved Mother.

Thanks for sharing your observation regarding the relation of yellow roses to Sheldon's Texas heritage. I never would have put the two together. Goes to show the writers don't always just throw something into an episode without some reason behind it. I love the times when they bring out the Texas in him via his accent, choice of words, actions, etc.

While Sheldon loves his mother very much and gives her the gift of flowers for the moment, the tone is between the affection of mother and son, not romantic love.

Sheldon gives Amy practical gifts that represent his long-term affection and commitment to her; i.e. making her his emergency contact, santa pic with voice recording, the mushroom log, etc. I am sure Amy appreciated the mushroom log when she got it. However, in lieu of a physical relationship, a gesture of something impractical such as flowers would go a long way in showing her that he cares about her feelings and desire to be treated as a woman rather than just a companion of the mind.

Perhaps this is an area they will meet in the middle when they make up in S9. Amy needs to make her feelings and expectations clear without the use of sarcasm that Sheldon doesn't understand. Sheldon has got to learn that Amy needs reassurance via occasional impractical sacrificial gestures of romantic affection to show she is more to him than just "smart" Amy.

I think I read a comment earlier that by Sheldon asking what to do with the ring could very well mean he is now having 2nd thoughts about proposing. Amy's wanting to re-evaluate their relationship could have him thinking that all of his efforts since returning from the train trip were in vain because he honestly does not understand what happened.

I hope this is not the case, and he sees this as an opportunity to step up, beg Amy to help him understand what is going on, listen, and reassure her of his love and intent.

I think I read a comment earlier that by Sheldon asking what to do with the ring could very well mean he is now having 2nd thoughts about proposing. Amy's wanting to re-evaluate their relationship could have him thinking that all of his efforts since returning from the train trip were in vain because he honestly does not understand what happened.

I hope this is not the case, and he sees this as an opportunity to step up, beg Amy to help him understand what is going on, listen, and reassure her of his love and intent.

 

Haven't thought about that. We just think that he's going to propose a soon as he can because he already has a ring, but you're right. He might have seconds thoughts about proposing.

 

 

But, if we think about it, this is Shamy we're talking about, the writers LOVE Shamy! Also, they were meant to be since the beginning. This is not a cliché, they created Amy to be a female version of Sheldon that could be his love interest. Something funny and clever back on season 4 with just a few episodes for her. But then, they liked Mayim and Jim's chemistry so much that they couldn't let her go and now we're here, with them celebrating their 5th anniversary since they day they met and with Sheldon actually considering marriage. 

 

I'm not worried about their future because I know they're going to end up together, whatever comes up along the way, they'll be together. Unless they pull a How I met your mother finale off. (joking btw, but it could happen)

I know that's a concern, and it's one I've considered. But I honestly don't think the writers would have introduced that idea only to take it away from us. He MIGHT have second thoughts for a bit, but only while he's unsure of how Amy feels and whether she does want to be with him. It won't be because he suddenly isn't sure if he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Sheldon said it himself--when he has a feeling, he knows it. Also, he doesn't do anything rashly. He's probably been thinking about this for a long time. I really have no doubts that he'll eventually be putting that ring on her finger.

Yeah, I'd say the fact that they've introduced the idea of engagement is a pretty clear indication that it's going to happen. Now it's just a matter of when....
