Amy will have one heck of a mother-in-law in Mary Cooper - a lady with a good combination of sweet and sass. I liked that bit where she tells Penny to stay out of the heated exchange between her and Dr. Beverley Hofstadter. Looking forward to seeing Mary share new/old/tried-and-tested tips and tricks on how Amy can reel in Sheldon when he's being.. Sheldon. Agree Amy will have a Great Mother in law unlike Penny. But I honestly don't think the writers would have introduced that idea only to take it away from us. He MIGHT have second thoughts for a bit, but only while he's unsure of how Amy feels and whether she does want to be with him. It won't be because he suddenly isn't sure if he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Sheldon said it himself--when he has a feeling, he knows it. Also, he doesn't do anything rashly. He's probably been thinking about this for a long time. I really have no doubts that he'll eventually be putting that ring on her finger.I am glad to know I was not the only one concerned and feel a whole lot better. Thank you. I am soooo ready for S9. Mary must be so proud that her Shelly has found a good woman who gets him, can put up with him, and makes him happy. I am so happy Howard and Raj experimented with the matchmaking website and forced Sheldon's hand. ShAmy is evidence that there is someone out there for everyone, even if no one else gets it, including the individuals being matched. Who knew an experiment (5) years ago between two broken people would turn in the fandom that it is now? I can see Mary growing to adore Amy very much, especially knowing how "special" her gifted-Sheldon is. I hope with The McCarthy's cancelled, we will get to see more of Mary around. I got to thinking about the possibility that Sheldon might turn to his Mom at the beginning of S9 to help him through this set-back with Amy. That would be sweet for him to turn to the woman he has looked up to growing up to assist him in making amends with the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. One scenerio could be that Amy has gone to visit Mary, perhaps to talk to her, and Sheldon shows up to find she is there and they spend some make up time in Sheldon's childhood home.... However, I think that overall, I might prefer it if Sheldon and Amy were to figure this out on their own. For Sheldon to go to her of his own accord and tell her how he truly feels would be really poignant and show how much he's grown. But I would like to see Mary interacting with Amy while she plans the wedding, etc. Or maybe Sheldon, once he's fixed things with Amy, can tell his mom how he's planning to propose. Obviously Amy has changed a lot since then, but I would still find it more interesting to see Mary deal with Amy's "uniqueness" and realizing how truly perfect for Sheldon she is, and be awed at how her Shelly acts around Amy now, than see her give Amy tips to keep Sheldon in line. As for the closed-mouth question, I couldn't see it very clearly in everyone's video clips, but it did look to me as they pulled away as if they were kissing with closed mouths. Even if they were moving their lips or their mouths around, it could be that they were keeping their mouths closed. Usually when they're trying to show that a couple is French kissing, they make a point of showing them opening their mouths or moving their jaws or whatever. Based on everyone's descriptions, this was nothing like the previous kisses (and, remember, there was some movement with both SIK 1 & 2), even if it's not full on open-mouthed kissing. It also looks like they may have used the take for the promo photos to create this clip, given that Kaz and everyone else has said that Sheldon's hand was on Amy's upper thigh. It's very possible though that what was used for the promo was from that so they wouldn't show us the good stuff yet. Also, since what they showed was the end of the kiss, it's difficult to say what the rest of it looked like. Knowing they were about to end it, they could have been preparing for that and stilled their mouths more. BTW -- Can I just say that it amuses me how we're analyzing this kiss so closely, up to the movements of their lips? LOL... No matter what though, it was a very NICE kiss. I doubt that they re-shot, but if they did, they're still trying to make it clear that this is a MAKE-OUT vs. a kiss -- and a big step forward, especially for Sheldon. I think we're pretty safe in assuming that whatever makes it into the episode will clearly be A LOT more passionate than past kisses. I'm sure the audience reaction that Steve et. al got is exactly what they wanted (and expected)....and I'm sure they were back there chuckling and enjoying all the unbridled screaming/crying/whale noises. I remember their knees touching but their bodies being further apart. The nice thing was all the movement was exaggerated more that way as they had to purposely lean into eachother more. I also want Meemaw to finally appear, its long overdue. But once shamy are engaged, either sometime in early season 9, or I hope by the 200th episode.
