frankie
I going to try, at least for the first few episodes. I was blissfully unaware of this forum until about 10 episodes into season 7. I think I will be less stressed out about what they are doing to the Shamy if I am unspoiled Spoilers for the finale and the discussions that followed got me really depressed!
TheShamyShipper
I hadn't read spoilers ever for this series until a few episodes after the Locomotive ep. Then I couldn't help myself. I'm with frankie though--reading the taping report for the finale felt like a punch in the gut, and then all the discussion didn't help matters much. I'm kind of glad I was spoiled for that though because I think it helped prepare me for what was coming, even though when I watched it, it wasn't as bad as I was fearing.  Anyway, I wish I could say I'll be able to stay spoiler free for season 8, but I think I'm going to have to be spoiled for at least the first 2-3 eps. Once I know what happens when Sheldon returns, I think I can go back to being surprised again. I'm currently planning on trying to get tickets to go to the 8x1 taping, in fact. nopenopenope
I was going to try spoiler free for the first few, but like ShamyShipper, I think I'm better off knowing what happens. I will probably be spoiled the whole season (I've never really been able to stay spoiler free EVER) but will still discuss Shamy here and keep my mouth shut about anything I know that you don't! I always felt bad when the unspoiled thread didn't have much going on.
frankie
Just wondering how the spoiler-free people handle it when they see a lot of activity on the Spoiler thread (pages increase at a rapid rate). Isn't it so hard to ignore? If I decide to go spoiler-free, I may have to avoid this forum completely, sadly.  I REALLY wish I were unspoiled for the Locomotive ep. ShamyShipper, what was your reaction? I would have screamed.
TheShamyShipper
Ha ha...it was AWESOME being spoiler free for that ep! I had been waiting so long for Sheldon to initiate a kiss, and when it happened, all I could do was say "holy shit" and squeal like the fangirl I am. Then I immediately texted my friend who watches (who likes Shamy, but sadly isn't a shipper) with the same thing--"holy shit!!" Then I proceeded to watch it about a million times. Missy
Up until a few of months ago, it never occurred to me to look for spoilers! Â I was just randomly watching the episode w/Sheldon and Amy on the train, and thought "wow, that was completely unexpected and HOT" --- and I just couldn't wait to find out what happened next...... Â But I am going to try not to sneak any peeks anymore!

Catlina
Thanks for opening the spoiler free thread Chiany! I try to stay spoiler free for the first couple of episodes of the season 8. From that on, I don't know if I can stay unspoiled for that longer And this isn't any spoiler, I haven't read any articles considering season 8 or anything, just my gut feeling: I feel it in my bones that season 8 is going to contain something Shamy heavy and they are going to take steps forward again.. what kind of steps, I don't know... I'm excited to see how they will start to progress everything where they were left in the season 7 finale. I definitely hope Sheldon will open up to Amy, both literally and figuratively, and in many levels, emotionally, physically. Cassalia
Ugh I was spoiled for the SIK 1.0 and it was in the dumbest way ever. I was just starting to get into Shamy and I was looking up on wikipedia all the Shamy episodes. I didn't realize that the BBT wiki contained spoilers and I had accidentally read that there was an episode where Sheldon kissed Amy. Such a bummer because I could have easily avoided it and would have screamed upon seeing it!! That's why I want to try and be unspoiled for most of the season, but I really do need to know what happens in the first few episodes.
nerdforestgirl
I tried to stay spoiler free for most of season seven, but almost every episode had something ruined for me accidentally. I would love to manage to be spoiler free for season eight, but I would probably have to leave tumblr. I would have loved not to have known that the first SIK was coming. Isn't it so hard to ignore? If I decide to go spoiler-free, I may have to avoid this forum completely, sadly.  I REALLY wish I were unspoiled for the Locomotive ep. ShamyShipper, what was your reaction? I would have screamed.  At first, it wasn't very difficult to stay out of the spoiler threads because I didn't know how fun it was in there. When I went to the taping for the Occupation Recalibration and then eventually to the Locomotion taping, I ventured into the spoiler threads and realized how great it is in there. Ever since then, it has been a little bit more difficult not going into the spoiler thread. I do tend to wonder what's going on when I see the shamy spoiler thread get new posts every few minutes. But then I remember that many posts in the Shamy spoiler thread can mean a million different things.  Best advice I can give people with trying to go spoiler free is completely avoiding the forum on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. This is prime taping information time. 99.999999% of people on the forum are only looking at spoiler threads, so even if you post something in the spoiler free thread, odds are no body will read it. Usually I'll check the forum Tuesday morning and then not look at it again until Thursday morning.  It can be hard, but it is always worth it. The biggest test for me for no spoilers was the Table Polarization taping. I went to the taping of Locomotion on January 14th. Table episode didn't air until February 27th. During that month and a half of waiting, the Shamy Spoiler Positivity thread popped up, as did the State of the Shamy Summit thread popped up. I was sitting here thinking, hmm why would we need a positivity thread..... Whenever I'm itching to read some spoilers, I just tell myself, "Dana if you can make it through the Table taping without looking, you can make it through this". Catlina
Dana I have to tell you, I really admire your self-control, strength and willpower on this matter! I don't know if I could do the same. I agree, that most of the taping information time is between Tuesday and Wednesday, and it can be quite difficult staying spoiler free and out of the chat room if one logs in here on Wednesday morning only to see there are lots of people in the chat room, sometimes 10-20 or even more. There have been times I've seen the crowded chat room before reading any information from the taping, and been thinking that something significant must have happened at the taping. And usually it has been true, and so I can feel that that particular time is when I would feel very tempted to find out what happened at the taping! So your advice to stay away during that time is very good for people who are trying to stay spoiler free, because you must feel attempted to log in the chat room and see what's going on. But as for myself, my goal is to stay spoiler free only the 2 first episodes of the season, then I'll think about the rest of the season later. I'll have to see how I feel about staying spoiler free. I wasn't spoiled for the couple of first episodes of season 6, but that time I didn't even know taping reports existed! I found them somewhere around fifth or sixth episode of that season.  I agree also about the loneliness of being spoiler free, and I think that is the more difficult part of it for me. I enjoy Shamy fandom when I can speculate spoilers with other people Of course, spoiler frees can speculate as well although not with spoilers. So I have to see how I feel about feeling spoiler free and see if I feel I want to continue that route. The only thing I'm worried is that I might not to get know some important taping information, like other takes or such if I browse through taping information later after episode has aired. There are some scenes I'm happy to know there were other takes however that they didn't use for some reason or another. And behind-the-scenes stuff is also lovely to know about, especially what has happened between Jim and Mayim. But we'll see.  Edit: I probably will be reading spoiler thread over the summer now and then, but I think they'll mostly contain general spoilers considering season 8 and probably nothing so specific, so I will withdraw myself from there only when taping begins. The same goes with cast/writer interviews, I'll be reading/watching them although they might contain a small spoiler or two. They won't presumably be revealing anything really specific or very detailed spoilers in interviews, they always seem to be more vague and can be interpreted in different ways. So my no spoiler-period will only include taping reports and spoiler threads during first tapings. Edited June 6, 2014 by Catlina

Catlina
I'll try to break the silence in this thread and post something  I've been wondering Shamy's general progress during the summer and where they will head from this on, during season 8 and over that. So here are few things I've been wondering and questioning myself, feel free to give your insight and opinion about them.  What do you hope and predict for season 8 Shamy? How do you see their story going?  Do you think Sheldon will have to face his true feelings for Amy and not run away from them anymore? Will Sheldon continue resisting any changes in their relationship? Do you think Sheldon loves Amy? Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon is the one who does want to proceed in the relationship and move things forward, and Amy will be unsure about it or hesitating about it?  How long Amy will put up with Sheldon's resisting behaviour? Do you think there will be a point where Amy breaks up with Sheldon? How will Amy progress as a character and towards Sheldon?  Could Shamy work on a scientific project together at CalTech? Will there be a mutual changes of ILY's? Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon actually does want to live with Amy and invites her to live with him? Do you think Sheldon will ever propose to Amy, and if so how and why it will happen? What exceptional could happen between Shamy?  Sorry if the questions are not in a systematic order... Just feeling tired and my brains seem not to function normally but tried to post something anyway

Just feeling tired and my brains seem not to function normally but tried to post something anyway  Do you think Sheldon will have to face his true feelings for Amy and not run away from them anymore?  I think Sheldon during the 2nd half of the season will express his feelings verbally to Amy. In the first half he might express them to Lenny, but afraid/nervous to tell Amy.  Will Sheldon continue resisting any changes in their relationship?  At first he will try to fight against it, but when he comes back he knows they are for the best, not just for Shamy, but for him as well. So for the biggest part it will be a battle against himself.  Do you think Sheldon loves Amy?  Yes, but he doesn't realise that yet, once he does, see Question 1 :D  Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon is the one who does want to proceed in the relationship and move things forward, and Amy will be unsure about it or hesitating about it?  Yes, but not in season 8.  How long Amy will put up with Sheldon's resisting behaviour?  She will start to see him progressing, so put up is no longer the correct term I think.  Do you think there will be a point where Amy breaks up with Sheldon?  No I don't think so, that could only happen if Sheldon comes back unchanged/unwilling to change. And I don't think that will happen because that would mean his time away is pointless.  How will Amy progress as a character and towards Sheldon?  creating some distance between her and Sheldon, not so hung up on her. Working on her life outside "The Shamy"  Could Shamy work on a scientific project together at CalTech?  No idea if its possible, but I hope so.  Will there be a mutual changes of ILY's?  Not yet, maybe in s9.  Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon actually does want to live with Amy and invites her to live with him?  Yes, near the season finale (episode 23/24)  Do you think Sheldon will ever propose to Amy, and if so how and why it will happen?  No Amy will propose, probably in the final season. No idea how and where, maybe somewhere science related (CERN, at the LHC?)  What exceptional could happen between Shamy?  Plenty. I think children is the most exceptional I can think of right now. Just feeling tired and my brains seem not to function normally but tried to post something anyway  First of all thank you for bringing this thread back to life. Not that it matters but it still made me sad that this was the oldest thread in season 8.   What do you hope and predict for season 8 Shamy? How do you see their story going? My hope is that we see progress in S8 and more unique Shamy scenes. I remember thinking during last year's hiatus about the EC and the D&D scene and how they were going to top unique scenes like that. Then this year they gave us the screen saver and so much more. I want scenes with them together and I want more casual contact. I love the little touches they make and I would love if they did more of those in front of the group.  Do you think there will be a point where Amy breaks up with Sheldon? I don't know. Part of me sees a break up in the premiere and the other part of me sees it as a definite no. I know Shamy is endgame, so a break up wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. If they did break up, I would want it for say no more then 5 episodes MAX.  Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon actually does want to live with Amy and invites her to live with him? I really hope so! I think after maybe living alone (really alone because unlike over the summer when Leonard was gone, Penny will be too busy with wedding stuff to hang out with him). For season 8, I honestly see him asking her to move in with him in the February sweeps or in the season finale.
kerrycec03
What do you hope and predict for season 8 Shamy? How do you see their story going? -In 2nd episode, Sheldon comes back to a bit more coldish Amy....and in about 3-5 episodes something happens where he will have to step up to show Amy what she means (or be there for her instead of the reverse).  This event will help bring them a bit more on course.  Do you think Sheldon will have to face his true feelings for Amy and not run away from them anymore? -Yes, but not till much later in the season, or season 9.   Will Sheldon continue resisting any changes in their relationship? -Yes and no.  He'll be still resistant to change (its his nature) BUT on certain fronts he may accept little adjustments.  Do you think Sheldon loves Amy? -Yes, but he doesn't realize it yet.  I do think some sort of affirmation of feelings will occur in season 8 (not sure if it will be the big ILY yet though)  Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon is the one who does want to proceed in the relationship and move things forward, and Amy will be unsure about it or hesitating about it? -Yes, in the beginning/middle of season 8.  He'll want things to proceed (or move on from his journey) while she might be a bit more standoffish with that.   How long Amy will put up with Sheldon's resisting behaviour? -forever...I mean, I hope she voices her feelings more, but she'll deal with him.   Do you think there will be a point where Amy breaks up with Sheldon? -I really don't see a break-up for these two.  Its not their style.  How will Amy progress as a character and towards Sheldon? -I hope we find out a little bit more on her back story which in turn would effect them as a couple.  Could Shamy work on a scientific project together at CalTech? -I don't care either way.  I think it would be tough mixes their two fields though.  Will there be a mutual changes of ILY's? -Not an offical ILY till season 9, but I do think some sort of declaration will occur.  Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon actually does want to live with Amy and invites her to live with him? -Yes, towards the end of Season 8.  After a batch of bad roommate interviews and living alone, he will want her to be with him.  All signs point to this.  Do you think Sheldon will ever propose to Amy, and if so how and why it will happen? -Hmmm...I really struggle with this.  I think Amy wants the fairy tale which would be a traditional proposal on bended knee....BUT, I have a hard time seeing Sheldon ever doing that...If they do decide to make that leap it maybe more of a mutal decision....but I would love Amy to have her dreams too.  What exceptional could happen between Shamy? -Not sure, they aren't the "spur of the moment" kind of couple.  I think it would be funny if it turns out that Amy is actually smarter (aka IQ) than him...but thats not really exceptional.

Just feeling tired and my brains seem not to function normally but tried to post something anyway  What do you hope and predict for season 8 Shamy? How do you see their story going? When Sheldon comes back, he go straight away to Amy. She welcomes him, but demands an explanation. He isn't yet able to process the situation. It will take a several episodes before Sheldon admits who wants her in his life and he is ready to talk about his feelings. Do you think Sheldon will have to face his true feelings for Amy and not run away from them anymore? Yes. I hope the journey and the separation help him to understand what he really wants from his relationship with Amy and how much she means for him. Will Sheldon continue resisting any changes in their relationship? Resisting change is part of his "way of being". This doesn't mean that he has not made progress and will continue to do it. Do you think Sheldon loves Amy? Yes, he does. He only has to recognize and verbalize it! Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon is the one who does want to proceed in the relationship and move things forward, and Amy will be unsure about it or hesitating about it? I don't think so, but it would be interesting to see the dynamic between them in reverse. How long Amy will put up with Sheldon's resisting behaviour? Amy understands and loves Sheldon thoroughly. I quote Chiany: put up isn't the right word! Do you think there will be a point where Amy breaks up with Sheldon? If it ever will happen, will not be in the next season. Maybe in season 9, when coitus will be around the corner. How will Amy progress as a character and towards Sheldon? Remaining independent, continuing to cultivate friendship with others also outside of her relationship with Sheldon, and working on her issues on her own. Could Shamy work on a scientific project together at CalTech? I have no clue. It could be funny! But I also think that "you shouldn't defecate where you eat". Will there be a mutual changes of ILY's? Yes, there'll be. I don't know how it'll happen. Maybe he could do a long introduction, using metaphors and scientific words. And I don't know when, but I hope there'll be before they live together. Do you think there will be a point where Sheldon actually does want to live with Amy and invites her to live with him? I think so, near to the season finale. But I'd like to see that he invites her like his girlfriend, not only like a flatmate. Do you think Sheldon will ever propose to Amy, and if so how and why it will happen? Yes, I do. I want the proposal is funny, tender and awkward. But because of his upbringing, I wouldn't be surprised if Sheldon will propose in the most traditional way.
