Yeah, she really hurt his feeling in that episode, she was such a bitch and I kinda hated her for a while as well.

 

Is this the episode Penny broke up with Leonard. Or Bath Item? Yeah she was kinda mean in that episode. But to be fair Leonard should of told her how he was feeling. It wasen't really Penny's fault at all to be honest. As it was DU was married and they sorted things out. And the break up scene, I always felt sorry for Penny most of all. I mean you watch that bowling scene, she is the only female in that scene, she was really isolated.

Yeah Leonard did because thats the way writers made it obvious. But I am sure Penny was hurting too. She did cry when she broke up with Leonard. I think the way she delt with the break  up tho, that drunken one night stand was pretty poor form. But you forget she was what early twenties, no family or real support. Yeah, she has, it just goes to show how much Leonard loves her to put up with early penny and the crap she put him through. Most men would have given up on her years ago but Leonard stuck around because he saw something in Penny that all the other dead bags couldn't see and he didn't give up on her. Usually when people ask me who my favourite character is, I always say Penny because you know she is hot and I think Kaley is a great actress as well, but if i had to be honest with myself I would say Leonard is my favourite character, because he has gone through a lot in his life and Johnny plays Leonard so well. Leonard plays Leonard so well haha? Yeah I agree I've had a thing for Kaley since 8 Simple Rules. So she was always my fav. But also in Big Bang, Kaley has the best expressions and timing out of all the female actors on the show. She can be hilarous. And I also think she is with Leonard the most strongest character on the show. I mean tons of failure and rejections. But still goes on. Leonard is the bravest character in the show. Gone through alot of adversity. This show is obviousley about reversing gender roles. Hence why I have always found Lenny the most interesting couple in the show. 

This was always one of my fav moments from the series. Look how Penny gently touches Leonard's Shoulder in 2x16 The Caushion Saturation. And this was well before they dated haha

Lol. Thanks for pointing that out. Need to edit it. I love 8 simple rules too. I also only started watching the later episodes of charmed when I found out she was in it ☺

See it's the little things between Leonard and Penny that are so awesome.  Unfortunately we sometimes have to look really hard to see them.  Would really like to see a bit more of them just being together though.  I feel like they're being neglected...

 

@Tonstar - that is a really strikingly beautiful picture of Kaley.  Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn a bit.

Haha no just a point of reference to their break up scene, and that picture. To be honest though I am glad they broke up then. They both weren't ready for a long term commitment. And Penny especially had a lot of growing up to do. So it was a means to an end.

If  you guys notice, Johny Galecki character in Rosanne, David is in many ways a continuation of Leonard.

Well of course. If they diddn't break up around then. Time Shamy came along. They would of needed to get back together. They woulden't of gotten engaged till the very end of the series haha. So development would of been on the back burner. So its a good thing they did break up in S3 early. Made Penny jealous then insecure with Priya and Alex. Then she embraced her little Strawberry Pop Tart . Now I guess seeing their has been no movement for what ever reason. And we all know why, they have hit endgame. But we can bring up all types of reasons why their is no moment with them. But things are what they are. The writers showed a call back last taping. In a way was Leonard soaping Penny, a call back to the pilot? Not exactly but when Penny used their shower. He can now soap Penny all he wants .

I think that was The Beta Test Iniation. Ep when Leonard asked Penny out was Recombination Hypothesis. But yeah both up their with some of my Fav bbt EPs. Kaley was looking gorgeous too in Beta after Leonard was shot in the foot.

I have been watching the season 3 and season 5 reruns and they are so much better than Season 8 Lenny, I find I really don't have anything positive to say about this season.

Well yes if your comparing to previous seasons yes its dissapointing. But apart from s3 being a new couple, and basically an experiment. S5 Starting Lenny 2.0. S8 is a Lenny who have been back together 3 or so seasons now. So its different. Kinda an old married couple now. Show currently going through massive changes. So they have been really diminished. But this has been rehashed to death. I kno ppl see it differently then me so I'll leave it at that m

Good point, Penny and Leonard should be like Kaley and Ryan, but the discrepancy is obvious.

Yeah after seeing a bit of S8. I completely reverse my opinion on Lenny. They feel like 28 going on 50. I still don't think its that big of deal. I mean once they were engaged, I guess the writers choose to put them in the background to focus on development of other characters. But its the scenes they do get. Its almost like ahhh we have focused on them for 8 seasons, they are not the event they used to be. Lost any creative flow for them anymore. But how old was Penny in Season 3? 23? Shes 28 now, four-five years difference. Their is no reason Lenny cannot be as intimate as they once were. It just feels like the writing has changed. They went from in their 20's to their 50's over night. I think too Penny has really effected Lenny. Her outlook and personality has changed completely. She is not the same fun, free spirited girl next door anymore. She has grown up a lot, so maybe that's a factor too.

I think instead of a gradual change from seasons 3, 5-7, to season 8 the change has been dramatic. Penny has been much more mature this season than in the past. It's almost like running your faucet. instead of going from hot to warm to cool to cold you go straight from hot to cold. it hadn't been that drastic but Lenny's relationship has changed much more noticeably from season 7 to 8 than any other. As mentioned on another thread an A plot storyline would be a welcome change.

i think the writers are putting the couples on their respective places.  So S10 will be in my opinion mostly about our favorite couple.  TBBT will end with Lenny's wedding as supernova event TBBT like Leonard and Penny saw each othe for the first time on episode 1; that moment brought two people together for fall in love, took seven years but Penny finally said yes to Leonard.

He asked her out in both. To dinner in Recombination and asked her out(offscreen) without telling her where they were going.

and the awsome thing is that Johnny and Kaley make Leonard and Penny so realistic, they are trully wonderful actors.
