Yeah Leonard is the one suffering tbh. The lengths they well go to not do a Lenny story. I guess tho casual fans want to see Sheldon and Penny. Lenny just doesent stack up. Looks like casual fans are a focus right now. Have to wait till wedding. To have any real good plots. Casual fans want to see Lenny to tho.

I don't see them running L/P down, except that they never pump them up. True, they are sadly neglected. It's a holding pattern, but I hope for something excellent before the end of this season. If they leave it too long and forget to add back the frisson (like Prom) then it might mean I care less but I'm not sure the show can't survive my waned interest.

I presume there are off screen activities. The problem, is that they aren't engaging in the minor acts of affection you would expect from an engaged couple. No holding hands, kissing, touches, looks/smiles. Those acts of affection wouldn't require much airtime or story time, but they would go to show them as a loving couple. There was more chemistry between them in The Cushion Saturation (season 2 episode 16) than I've seen for most of this season.

Mmmm has Penny outgrown Leonard? I don't know. Has her personality and outlook changed so much, her world view just does involve Leonard anymore? Yeah Yeah I know this susposed to be supporting the ship. But technically talking about the issues, is supporting in some way. I guess comparing to S2 is kinda ridiculous as they were friends then. It as new and fresh, S3 two horny kids haha, S6 and 7 two adults. Maybe Penny is going through the motions, as she believes she does need to prove anything, and believes Leonard won't leave her. Maybe were reading into things that are not actually their haha. I don't know. I do miss even S2 chemistry the way she would just touch him, even though they weren't dating. Of course they were at the beginning of their story then. They are at very end now, so Moloro said they well be dragging things out. Hopefully theirs some better stuff in the future, and forget that taping ever happened heh

Where'd that even come from?

I don't know, Penny has seemed to have changed to me this season. I don't know is she has out grown Leonard but I definitely think she changed and not for the better.

So, are the writers writing Penny differently, or is Kaley, the actress, putting a different spin on the Penny character (attitude, facial expressions, tone of voice), :dontknow: or is it a bit of both, or is that just a stupid question? :icon_confused:

Not a stupid question. Valid point. To be honest I don't know, could be a bit of both but something is definitely not right this season, I don't know if it's Kaley or the writers. I just cant put my finger on it.

I don't think it is a stupid question because I think it is something all us Lenny's would like to know. I do remember that someone said before that because of the kind of show it is the actors can't really improvise, so if that's the case, it would seem that the writers are the ones who have changed Penny and not the actor.

Totally agree. I just don't understand why they will go half or all the season ignoring lenny because, they don't want to rush them...(Air quote) Why the hell get them engaged. Baffling.

Well Moloro did say he wanted to put Lenny on hold for now so they can drag out the wedding process. Make's sense as hard as it is to understand. So they are giving them separate plots, without focusing at all on their actual relationship. I mean last taping was nothing different to me. They did it in Adhesive Duck isolating Leonard away from Penny, to get that "classic" Sheldon/Penny comedy. But I think that's past its due by date now, so hopefully that's the last we see of it. It kinda annoys me though because maybe I have been watching another show all these years. But I was under the impression Leonard and Penny were the ones who had this special bond. But hey maybe were reading into things, and over analysing. Not sure you can say it is Kaley's fault, even if she has changed the way she acts. I mean she only goes by what the script says. Maybe its a direction thing I don't know. Maybe they don't write kinda rom com kinda storylines, so your not going to see that sweet comments from that dialogue between S and P. Who Penny clearly was disinterested, and coulden't wait to see Leonard (kinda like the Christmas ep). Look I see no reason why they can't give fans one big Lenny plot. I know they are engaged, holding things off e.t.c. But they are not married yet, so technically nothing has changed. It's just the lack of affection, it kinda feels like S3 as crazy as that sounds. Penny would sleep with the guy sure, but when it came down to real affection I felt a coldness. The dynamics based on what I have read and seen, seem to be back to Hot Girl and Nerd from across the hall. Maybe this is just one episode, but her general tone seems to suggest that, hope I'm wrong. I don't think she has outgrown Leonard, if anyone has done the outgrowing it is probably Leonard. But something is missing that is for sure. Like why the heck in the 8th season after seeing a much more confident, reassured Leonard in their relationship. Are we suddenly seeing a return of the insecure Leonard, I never liked that Leonard and I don't want too see him return, and get comments he is needy when he never was.

This is getting ridiculous! Sure we could use a lot more Lenny-centric plots but every time they are together onscreen they are, to me at least, shown as a couple who are very much in love. So, while I can understand people wanting more stories focused on them, I just don't get all this angst about the couple themselves.

Sorry I don't buy into this spacial bond. It always leonard she goes to. Dating or not. It just the writers like to feed the non-canon that is shenny. Obviously to push rating up as it's also a fan Base. Sucks but that's the way it is.

That's cause we are starving. ☺

I thought tonight's episode was great fun and we got cute pre and post date Lenny banter and Penny's 'soap me up' tease. I thought Leonard and Penny were totally charming together in this episode (I even didn't hate "Soft Kitty"Actually having Leonard sing made my day.) and I believed that they were a couple in love having fun together. I feel better about them even without the kissing.

I agree with the Lenny banter part. I myself could of done without the Soft Kitty. It's cuter just with Penny.

They were good tonight in the way they were used except one thing really bothered my and another aggrivated me that they can't let it go.  First, Penny making it so obvious she would not want to go to Hawaii with Leonard.  Does she really love him, where is she going on a honeymoon with him, that whole thing made me cringe not laugh.  What would someone that is engaged to him actually say something like that, even in jest?  NOT FUNNY.  Also, the scene where Sheldon burst in on Penny exercising, now we have Sheldon saying Leonard is not good in bed, this is getting old.  If Leonard is so bad in bed, why does extremely sexually active Penny even want to be with him, hell she never defended him to Sheldon even, so it must be true.  These continous jokes about Leonard are getting so old and they really ruin what could have been a nice episode of Lenny, for me.

Who cares if Sheldon says Leonard's not good in bed? He's not the one fucking him. And some things are simply undeserving of a response. If Penny had answered the claim, you'd probably say she was sounding defensive.
