phantagrae
Yeah, I have a really hard time believing this was all because of Laura. I mean, she wasn't exactly crucial to the prom episode. Why would they put themselves in such a position for her? Idk doesn't seem worth it to me. I could be wrong. I meant in terms of a schedule. A big guest star's schedule would be much more worth their while than Laura, imo. I do think that Laura/Emily was crucial to the prom episode. If they're going to devote an entire episode to the idea of recreating prom night so that all these misfits could experience it in a positive way, why would they leave Raj out, if Laura was unavailable? It wouldn't be right if everybody had a date, including Stuart, only to leave Raj with having to make some excuse why Emily wouldn't be there. She was on an episode of Bones and an episode of Sleepy Hollow, so her availability could have been very restricted. She may not have another free week during sweeps--or if they wanted the prom episode to air early in sweeps, then last week may have been her only availability in the right time-frame. I don't think that Laura has anything to do with the hush-hush of these week's taping, but only with why they had to film out of order.
Tomasina
You know, I plan to do a taping report when I go again if no one else does, but there's been so much spoilage in inappropriate places (and I'm not counting people who accidentally post something because they clicked on a thread by mistake) including Facebook, Twitter, fanfic public summaries, and public comments to the writers that aren't very polite, that I'm not sure I should do that anymore unless I purposely hold big news back. I don't want us to get banned. It wouldn't take much detective work to figure out who the 'reporters' were if the show gets fed up and i feel really bad for the fans who have been trying to enjoy the show fresh when it airs. It all depends on how people control themselves with taping news going forward.

We don't realize how lucky we are and we should be more appreciative that we get spoilers or the TR in the first place. The producers don't have a problems with it at the moment but if it get out of control they can ban people from going and make people's sign a paper we don't want that! Before I joined the board and came here just to lurk and read the reports, I often wondered if people would get caught for doing that and as much as I love being spoiled, I don't want anything to happen to the lovely people doing the report for us. SRAM
The thing is there really are not a lot of us on these boards and everyone I know that watches the show around me don't have a clue what is going to happen unless I want to tell them. So I sometimes wonder if TPTB really care about a very few of us knowing.

Actually, I wouldn't mind going unspoiled for at least one episode, but I can't do it, knowing there's a taping report waiting for me to read it, haha. I wouldn't bother if there's no report. notchinc
I'm not concerned about that. I'm concerned about people taking the information that they know and cyber bulling the BBT staff with what they know and demand different outcomes. tmp
I've been worried for some time about the way people behave regarding spoilers, and I think we should have some ground rules. One, we lay low and don't call attention to the fact that people are spreading spoilers. We **especially** do not contact the producers to pressure them for information or let them know how much we've found out. Two, we never spread the spoilers except on here or to a very few people we know who want the information. Three, we never pressure anyone to give us a taping report and never criticize anyone for the way they give us a taping report. In general, we just need to chill the bleep out! Tomasina
I knew who it was and I do not think it was necessary tbh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalyes, ignoring the appropriateness of talking that way to someone you've never met (famous people DO have feelings) it would have been easy to phrase the complaint in a way that was clearly criticizing only a cbs posted scene that created a lot of publicity but never actually happened on air. But this is just one incident that wouldn't be too horrible if it wasn't for all the other stuff that's been happening at the same time. phantagrae
Well, the things is that unless we have some kind of secret password or login or something, we can't protect the taping reports from random eyes. I would hate for everyone's fun here to be spoiled because of that. And the thing is, there are many people who go to tapings and can easily post spoilers on twitter or tumblr or anywhere else and we have no say or control over that. We don't know who has read what or where they read it, or where they may post it or whether or not they're going to contact TPTB or the cast or whoever. All we can do is maybe refrain from posting spoilers beyond here (and the other forum, which is fine, IMO). We can't keep people from reading them and doing whatever they're going to do, but we can control ourselves.
SRAM
I can understand your concern Tomasina, so if you decide not to have anything to do with taping reports in the future, I still like to thank you for all you gave us in the past.
CaffeineBuzz
All I know is the tweeting that's been going on to the cast, the writers etc needs to stop. I don't care how upset you are, it's not ok or appropriate. We need to remember what a privilege it is to even have the info from the few people who are kind enough to share it. And on that note, the sense of entitlement towards taping reports needs to stop too. We are so lucky and we need to start respecting that, respecting those who choose to share and respecting the bbt crew who are doing their jobs according to what is best for the show. End rant. JourneyIntoShamy
Exactly. Just 'cause you don't agree with something, doesn't mean you're in the right. Okay, as avid fans, there will be a sense of entitlement, but we must all try to understand that at the end of the day, we are not the writers. We just have to sit back and see what they give us. If we don't get what we want right away, it's okay to wait. It's not okay to rant to TPTB. This is a show that is a privilege to watch and enjoy. And remember, even though it affects us strongly, it's important to remember to try not to take it too seriously, because it is a sitcom, not some angsty drama. tmp
Just one more thing and then I'll shut up about the whole thing. We're all obviously huge fans of the show, which is great. However, too much of anything can become unhealthy. It's good to evaluate ourselves from time to time to make sure we haven't crossed the line. 3ku11
Can I just say Tweeting the Producer of arguably the biggest sitcom of this generation, about how dare you edit something out of his show he can do what he wants. Is the height of unhealthy obsession. I mean I love how the shows evolved and expanded its world of characters. But I sometimes miss the original concept of an Expeirement of a Hot Girl on Four nerds, or the Two nerds and the hot girl next door. We never has these Ship Wars, never had "Oh how does Shamy come across in this Taping Report" "Oh I need my Lenny fix" "Oh I need my Shamy Feels" lol. This is not targeted at anyone at all on this site, just people on twitter. It gets to the point you have to remind them this is not The Shamy Show, this is not the Lenny show, this is not the Howardette show... It is The Big Bang Theory. A story about Two nerds living across from a Hot Girl. Along the line some people lost sight of that original purpose and concept. And are so enamored with their ships (And your perfectly entitled to btw, thats not my point). But when it comes to Taping Reports specifically, its like okay how does Shamy come across in this one. Ok Lenny have a romantic scene, do they kill it with a lame joke e.t.c. Get's to the point it becomes your entire centric perspective. And to the point, you are now tweeting one of the Head Producers of The Big Bang Theory, "How dare you edit a scene, where Shamy don't hug. don't you realize my feels are being suppressed". So I do get this reaction to Taping Reports. I sometimes wonder how TPTB wonder about it, and well they try to stop it in the future, unlikely but its something to think about. MJistheBOMB
I'm positive that almost anyone who works on TBBT theory is well aware of spoilers put out by those who attend tapings. Kunal follows Roxanne on Twitter for crying out loud. LOL. Where it can possibly go wrong for us is fans being abusive online like I've witnessed yesterday/today. "YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! " and "don't ruin the prom episode. " type of comments....I mean really??? They have the power to shut us down if they decide fans are getting out of control over spoilers. I doubt it will happen but fans should definitely always remember that it could.
