S8 Discussion Thread

I think people have different ideas of what filler means. I think it means that of you removed it then looking at an entire season's arc you would miss nothing that was necessary for continuity or signaled a big change: filler between macro plot essentials. Tbbt filler is awesome and makes it easy for new viewers to enjoy the show out of order and not feel lost.

Other people think filler means the show was junk and should never have happened, and that someone who says that must be insulting the show. For crappy shows this is often true.

I think TMA is a filler episode, but I also think it sounds like a classic tbbt style episode and could easily be one of my favorites for the season.

If you want to avoid bleeding ulcers, it's best to just assume people had the best intentions when they say something before you react. It is 50% of the time living in denial, but it makes getting through the day so much more bearable.

Okay, so I'm not sure if anyone has reported this yet, but there's dialogue from the prom episode that I'm not sure was in the taping report.

In the scene where Amy tells Sheldon she is going up to the roof without him, he opens to door to come stop her by telling her, "I really did think you looked pretty." She stops in her tracks. "You did?" He explains that that's why he got overwhelmed. There's a lot of pressure on him about the after-prom traditions. Amy says, "just because it's prom, doesn't mean we have to spend the night together." Sheldon asks, "but were you hoping that we would?" Amy says, "I'm always hoping." That's when she reassures him that there's no pressure on him about the night and that all she wanted was to go to prom with him. Which leads into her starting to say, "there's something else I want to tell you, and you don't have to say it back just because I said or just because it's the social convention…" That's when he says, "I love you, too."

And the others who were at the taping last night and saw the episode might be able to help me confirm this, but I believe Amy asked him if he's sure. That's when he explains the feeling that he has and he's been trying to figure out what it is, and the only other explanation seemed less likely. Which means that it must be love.

Thank you very much! Feels all over again. I know I'll break my computer 'cause I'll be watching the episode forever LOL

And thank you Chloe for the TR! I didn't get the chance to say it before here!

this dialogue between Sheldon and Amy seems to be one of the most beautiful that them two have had... I already foresee a million visualizations on Yu Tube... I am so happy to as the writers are thinking their relationship!

Thanks girls for the taping! to me it seems a very funny episode, in which everything is stable but however ok!  ;)

This is excellent Michy! Thank you guys for always keeping us updated!!

And I'm gonna end the 'filler' useless discussion now, as I noticed we are not going anywhere with it.

As you could end the "Shamy ILY" useless discussion now as I noticed this isn't going anywhere either.

Just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean it's irrelevant. We have as much right to celebrate this as others did when Lenny got engaged. Or is there a double standard on that that I'm not aware of.

Omg I actually can't believe it.  Thank you so much, michy and theshamyshipper, for all the extra info. I am overwhelmed with how perfect this is. It sounds like he's so genuine and honest and assured of his feelings. And he WANTS her to know he thinks she's pretty, he WANTS her to know that he loves her. It's freaking huge that he has those feelings to begin with, but the fact that he sacrifices his giant ego to actually tell her, and with so much candor and sincerity, is astonishing.

It looks like The.......ion. He's really tight on this one.

Yeah, you can kind of make out the bottom of some letters of the first word, but I can't tell what they are.

It does look like the third letter could be a p and the first letter looks kind of rounded, like maybe a C or something.

I can't magnify it, though, to get a better look.

It looks like a C to me too. So perhaps:

The Cooper Seduction?

The Cooper Excitation?

The Cooper Gratification?

I'd be cool with any of those!
