I'm starting to wonder if there's a plan to move Shamy forward so that they can work on the living arrangements.  I'm a little bit frustrated they ended s7 with "Penny and I want to live together" as though they're ready to move in together right now, and it hasn't been mentioned yet this season.  Yes, I know there's no hurry because they all basically live together, but part of the reason for Sheldon's melt-down was that Leonard indicated he wanted to live with Penny instead of Sheldon.

I always took that to mean once they were married though. I didn't get the impression they wanted to move in while engaged. It was just that now that they were engaged, and marriage was on the horizon, it was something to think about. But I could be wrong. Edited by MichyGeary

Sheldon going on the trip was the only reason it was brought up. Not for Leonard and Penny.

And Sheldon went on a trip. So case closed   :)

I know some of you have made this point more eloquently, but that's not my style. :p

I cannot figure out why some are whining and complaining (for over 24 hours now). Lenny is not the only couple on this show. No matter how bad you want it to be, it is not the Lenny show, just like it's not the Sheldon or Shamy show. There are going to be times where they are the front runners and other times when Shamy is. Without Shamy developing, you're going to be stuck with Sheldon the man-child for the rest of the series, therefore these plots are necessary. I think we can all agree that we don't want Sheldon to be a man-child, right?

Shamy had 2 big episodes last season, the rest were small plots and in several episodes they had no scenes together at all. Lenny got engaged and were the focus of many plots leading up to that.

The only thing I can empathize with is the lack of kissing, everything else is just whining like a child.

It's not that I want it to be the Lenny show, I never read anything like that. Of course they're not the only couple on the show, but what's wrong with a nice little Christmas scene? We KNOW they can do sweet episodes where everyone is involved, but in this one, I think it's clear they really didn't WANT to put them in a scene together. Just why? You may realize, I didn't complain about the first two episodes of the season, or any other episode where they're not in a scene together. I'm complaining because it's a Christmas episode and Leonard's chasing a bird while Penny's having a talk with Dr. Koothrappali about her one night stand with Raj.

As for the kissing, I don't really mind, as long as there's at least one in S8.

I didn't hear much complaining last season when they didn't have many plots together.

I am not saying there hasn't been complaining but I just think it starting to get a little ridiculous when we are only in 11 episodes.

I don't believe there was a season 7 discussion thread either though.

I wasn't singling anyone out, firstly.

I will agree on the Raj/Penny thing. Although, it doesn't bother me that it was brought up again, I can see why it would be annoying.

As far as having scenes together because it is holiday episode, I don't really see as a big deal. Shamy weren't together in any scenes, besides the ones that the group were in, from my understanding of the report.

Yes, there was.

How was the S7 finalie with no Shamy oh yes I remember now ;). No one is saying it should be the Lenny or the Shamy show. It is just Lenny are the core couple of the show, and even n S8 if they are sticking true to the premise of the show, they shouldent just be some prop in a scene.  I do understand though, because in S6 they had so much progress. They are now an engaged couple, but they also don't want to rush the wedding or break them up. So they are kinda in a catch 22 situation here atm. So it does no surprise me. Lenny well most likely get more scenes later on in the season. Like IWD said "Shippers see what other opposing shippers don't see"

OK, fair enough.  I took it to mean they were making immediate plans.

Well, Sheldon certainly took it to mean immediate plans! :)

Maybe they decided not to push the issue because of how he reacted (if you're trying to explain L/P not mentioning it).  From the writing perspective, though, I think they needed some stresses that would push Sheldon over the edge, so they had his job, the moving out and the moving in, the loss of Stuart's store and the lack of refuge from that stress.  I do think that they've come to think of the summer as a time to send someone away, and I'm okay with that, so it was Sheldon's turn.

And, really, the amount of stress such things would put on him is legitimate for him.  What they did with the resolution may have been less than perfect for some, but that's a separate issue.

But much like Leonard's time away, there's no real major impact once Sheldon returns apart from the immediate episode.  I think that if there is any consequence--and they have not really stressed it as a direct result--it could be said to be his more open attitude toward Amy, which led up to his ability to say that he loved Amy in the Prom episode.

Does that mean Lenny's are the only ones that complain? If the second half of the season is mostly Lenny as people think will the Shamy fans be silent and take it in stride?

I'm personally kind of hoping this will be the case.  I love Shamy, but part of what I love about them is that things move pretty slowly and aren't featured in every episode, giving viewers the opportunity to read between the lines.

As long as Sheldon doesn't reenter his "I must say, I go back and forth on this boyfriend-girlfriend thing..." phase, I'm good. :)  And while I'm much more of a Shamy than a Lenny, I also miss Lenny scenes and am ready for wedding planning fun.
