This has come up before, and Trippers view is that their preferences are their preferences. He does not like derogatory comments about other forums or members of other forums, just as we would not like other forums to be derogatory about this forum, or the members here. We do have contact with people at ShennyHQ, and they do not allow bashing of this forum, as we don't allow bashing of their forum. If you see something you think constitutes bashing there, PM either me or Tripper and we will look at it. The question becomes, if you dislike Shenny so much, why are any of you bothering to go there? Aren't derogatory comments on their preferences hating on them? Some of the more egregious posts have been hidden

I think it's an interesting phenomena of TBBT fandom.  I don't think anyone here is bashing anyone there individually or bashing their site, either.

I think we've been generally kind of just shaking our heads at the collective idea.

And the way they seem to see or depict the characters.

How can you not SEE that?!

I caught part of Flaming Spittoon last night and it was amazing to watch that scene where Sheldon goes over to ask Penny out.  I love that the dialog seems to directly address certain Shenny points--the way Sheldon assumes he's "the guy" and how she assures him he isn't, etc.

Brilliant.

I actually think that "early season nostalgics" or what they are called are worse than Shennys. Apparently they don't like the show after season three and yet they keep watching it and posting negative comments. They insult Chuck Lorre, Kaley because of her new haircut, Mayim...

I know. They like to turn and twist these scenes until they have what they want, even if it's blatantly obvious that they are wrong.

I think Adhesive Duck was the only episode that almost got me to think they were cute but I didn't go so far, it's just funny back then when they had scenes together. I always wants Penny and Leonard to end up together. After Amy came to the show I can't picture Sheldon with anyone else.

I got hooked in Season 4 and I think BBT is getting better every season.

This kind of reminds me of the old XF days where there was this one girl (and I guess some of ther pals thought along the same lines) who liked the addition of the Doggett character in the 8th season and felt that he was better suited as a love interest for Scully than Mulder was, to the point that she interpreted a lot of M&S scenes as Mulder being controlling and emotionally abusive, even to the point that she suggested Mulder was some kind of rapist!

Un. Real.

Well, Sheldon and Penny have always been fun together because of their very different natures, and Jim and Kaley always got a kick out of their scenes together.

That doesn't mean that they were ever playing any kind of subtext of sexual attraction, in fact, Jim stated quite the opposite way back in that Ausiello interview at the end of S2.

Ausiello brings up the Sheldon/Penny thing and Jim said that they found it quite surprising because there's never been anything in the script or in the way they play it to suggest anything like that between them.

Yeah, I remember that interview, Kaley was also against the idea. IDK, now I think Sheldon and Amy are funnier together (like FWF episode). Jim was right that eventually Sheldon would fall in love with a girl but she didn't have to hit him with a frying pan lol.

They not only crap all over the characters (which is fine because they're fictional) but they also bash the actors that play them (because to them, they're not doing the character the "correct" way). To me, that's disrespectful.

How can they not play the character the correct way? The correct way is, how the writer or the showrunner wants them to play their characters. And that's exactly what they're doing.

Maybe their gripe shoulden't be with the characters or the actors, but the writer themselfs. They only play off what is in the script. Whether or not a certain couple gets in the way of your cannon couple or ethology, is just pure speculation. I find it hard to rationlize placing blame on the actors themselfs. Once again this is not targeted againgst anyone specifically, just a constructive argument. Leonard and Penny may have not been compatible personality wise. But it was clear he was the only reason she stuck around after he acting career went in the toilet around S2. How many times does Sheldon have to suggest Penny is Leonard's responsiblity lol. I mean it is just behavioral patterns. Things well only change when they accept they were wrong, and accept the shows evolved. Or go buy the dvds, and you go and watch once scene on a never ending loop, oh bliss :p. Like the parrot. I would say Leonard's snowflake and the necklace, Penny has is a tad more meaningful and symbolic.

In tthis season I sometimes see more Jim than Sheldon sice episode 3 or 4... but it is okay! Sheldon is more mature( I dont know if this word is right) and Jim is acting more like himself. I mean eyes, arms, the way to walk, his smiles... but it is evolution of Sheldon. I see this good and different, for Jim and for us :)

There were comments saying the posters there and forum in general were hateful. Since I'm quite sure those here and those there have different opinions of hateful, calling the forum or the posters hateful is a form of bashing.

I really hope Sheldon and Amy are shopping at Victoria's Secret for a gift for Penny's wedding shower (bridal shower?). That way we get to see Sheldon and Amy picking out lingerie and we also get movement toward the Leonard and Penny wedding.

Personally, I'm loving all the Shammy we've been getting, but I'm really needing some front and center Lenny. I want to know about their wedding plans and if they are considering changing the living arrangements any time soon. Please writers, give us something!

I keep getting a message bitching about the fact that I use AdBlock Plus and NoScript in Firefox. I'm not going to whitelist their site and get ads shoved in my face just to watch a promo video. F**k them. I'll wait unitl it's posted on another site.

Why would you want Emily to leave?  I don't think she's going anywhere.  Unless Raj marries her at the end of S8 and they spend their honeymoon in India. :p

I don't want her to leave.  Somehow I just don't get the feeling she'll be around forever.

I love your avatar.  Miss me some Cinnamon this year.

Agree about Shamy/Lenny.  I'd like an update on that situation.  Also, what's up with the comic book store?  That story might have to be postponed until they figure out how to handle Carol Ann Susi's death, though.

I have that sense too.  I likes me some doom and gloom and Raj ending up with his OTL this fast puzzles me. But who knows. I am already a fan of the superficially unsuitable so if they want to make this happen fine. But I think if she acts out some of her favourite scenes from her favourite movies, Raj might be a bit too vanilla to hang around. Unless he ends up literally hanging around. LOL.

I like Emily more everytime I see her, but if it doesn't last I like that as a way to end it. For once I want him to leave the girl.

I definitely agree that Sheldon is becoming more Jim-like.  It started (in my opinion) with him lowering his register, but now it's becoming much more of a pervasive making over of the character.  I mean, Sheldon definitely has hair product in the Christmas promo pics. Someone is trying to impress his girlfriend, IMO. :p

Yes!  I really don't understand the complete lack of Lenny this season.  And the overwhelming amount of Shamy is starting to freak me out, as much as I love them.  As someone (Maddie, maybe?) said elsewhere on the forum, it's almost unsettling...like waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Muhahaha  :icon_evil: . Yeah more balance me thinks. Hope Lenny gets some screen time soon. Its not like them to be diminished in this capacity. Maybe the writers are saving them for the end of the season. I am really happy Shamy are finnally moving forward, being a low key Shamy fan, and a self confessed Amy fan she deserves it.

Well the way I'd see it on my head, she would leave but Raj would shouting from his bedroom "... and don't come back" and then he'd mumble "except to undo the straps". He'd later be rescued by Howard who would joke he was glad he kept their key, and wasn't Raj sorry he didn't pay attention to Howard's Houdini act.

You know, wholesome entertainment, for the family. LOL.

They've always used product on Jim's hair for Sheldon. It's always been more plastered down than Jim's real hair. He refers to it as "show hair". I guess maybe his hair is less plastered down in these pics, but I don't think it's a hard and fast rule that is now being changed.

I didn't think that Jim is portraying Sheldon as more like himself. He used to use a generally lower voice as Sheldon in the early seasons, but has also kind of done back and forth on that, as well, I believe. I think it kind of depends on the tone of the scene in general.

Whether or not they're changing Sheldon to "mature" him, I don't think Jim would be so unprofessional as to make Sheldon like himself. He's not in the show to play himself.

Yep. It worked without AdBlock for a while, but not anymore. You can't even see the ratings table without whitelisting the site.

I think I may have phrased my initial post poorly.  I by no means meant that Jim is being unprofessional or getting less in-character...quite the opposite, in fact.  The character growth so far this season has been superbly done.  I just mean that since Sheldon is being written as warmer, particularly with Amy, the character is becoming slightly more in line with (though still very separate from) Jim's natural persona, at least at times.
