Leonard is getting frustrated. He asks Sheldon, does he realize that Leonard doesn't live with the women he loves because of Sheldon. No other reason, just Sheldon.  Sheldon asks if that's really true. Leonard says the last time he brought it up, Sheldon ran away on a train for months. Sheldon says, given my past behavior, you're really taking a chance bringing it up now.

Leonard tells Sheldon that sometimes he's just really hard to take and he's exhausting to people around him.  Sheldon says, well sometimes Leonard, you're really mean to me.  Does he think Sheldon can't hear the sarcastic comments and see the all the eye rolling. He has excellent peripheral vision! On a good day, he can see his ears. Leonard says he's sorry, but this has been building up in him for a long time. Sheldon tells Leonard if he wants to live with Penny, then he thinks he should go ahead and do it. Leonard -  Really? Sheldon says yes, take your clown shoes and eek, eek, eek on out. Then Sheldon says, it's just (at this point he opens Amy's purse and takes out a tissue), he doesn't want to think of his life without his best friend in it. And he cries into the tissue. Leonard tells Sheldon that he's not leaving his world, just the apartment. Sheldon says, he knows he's difficult and thanks Leonard for putting up with him. More crying. Leonard opens Penny's purse and takes out a tissue and starts tearing up too. It's no problem buddy, he says.

The girls come out of the dressing room. Penny asks what's with the tears. Leonard says nothing really, they were just discussing living arrangements.  Amy turns on Leonard and asks if he's crazy. He knows Sheldon is a flight risk. Sheldon says that's what he told him too.  Penny tells Sheldon that she knows it's a sensitive subject and that Leonard won't move out until Sheldon is ready. Sheldon suggests that Leonard move out gradually.  Lenny are surprised. Leonard says okay so how about we start with me spending 2 nights a week at Penny's apt. Sheldon counters, how about one night a week and you can whistle in the apartment. Leonard agrees. Sheldon adds, when I'm not home. Leonard says okay. Sheldon says, here we go, compromising again. We really are the best. More tears from Sheldon and Leonard.

It's just ... beautiful

Thanks for the report! Some really cute stuff! Seems like they are setting up the subject of living arrangements for the second half of the season.

Great report. Sounds like a great episode!!!

Man the Sheldon growth (yes tag is regression but just for laughs) is amazing.

Penny appreciating Amy

I love Shelnard moments!

I think this episode checked off a bunch of lingering issues and set up for these topics to come up in the later half of the season

It's about time they finally address the living arrangements. They can't just drop such a serious thing. I'm a little surprised that Leonard doesn't put his love life above Sheldon, but at least it makes sense now.

Ugh, the writers are trying to kill me with Shelnard feels, I swear to (insert deity)!

I love this episode on so many levels. Firstly, it seems to signal the topic switch over to living arrangements and the implications of that on both couples. But more importantly, its choosing to focus on the effect that change will have on the heart of the show which is really the Shelnard friendship. I think their relationship has always been central to the show but its never been more evident than late last season and this season when the writers really started to explore why these two guys are still friends. There's been so much growth in the maturity level of how they handle each other, it amazes me. I'm so glad they're devoting the necessary time to illustrate why they are friends, what they mean to each other, and why it is going to be such a difficult transition for both of them (not just Sheldon) to not be roomates anymore. And man, as much as I want that milestone for the good of both couples, I will shed a bucket of tears when it happens. Sometimes I think I ship the Shelnard friendship even more than Shamy. There's just something about these two unlikely guys forming such a strong bond that just melts me.

And they seem to be repairing the Penny and Amy bond here too which was overdue. It might not have been critical but there was some understanding of each other lacking in that relationship and the writers seem to have wanted to balance that out. Actually now that I think about it, they kind of focused on all the friendship bonds in this episode since that Raj and Howard sequence was along the same theme as well.

I love that Sheldon has learned to drive and that Amy taught him but I'm slightly disappointed that I didn't get to see that happen on screen. If only cause I think it would have been comedy gold. But its still good to know he can drive. Yet another check mark in the list of things to make him ready to live with Amy and be an independent adult when he does.

As for the Lenny kiss which may or may not make it into the episode, my gut says they will probably cut it. Ultimately they always strive to get a certain reaction out of a scene and if the version with the kiss didn't hit the comedy note they were looking for, they will cut it. It happens and it sucks but they did it with the Shamy hug earlier this year and even I had to admit when seeing the actual episode that the scene worked better without it. This episode is still huge progress for Lenny though in the sense that it does start to move their storyline forward again. And it did confirm one long standing question of who would be moving out of which apartment. Looks like Sheldon will keep his spot after all. Given that they did tackle the living arrangement topic, I'm now even more convinced that they will continue to explore the other topics which have been so far missing in action (engagement, wedding planning, careers etc).

Overall, it sounds like a heartwarming friend centric episode. And funny, omg funny.

Can't wait to see it on screen!

As a matter of interest and as I am completely lost, :shy: what date will this episode air?

I might be wrong, but I heard something about before the holidays.. So probably next week?

And I loved the taping report, thank you so much for bringing it to us, Trina!

Thank you, Trina, I'm sure you had a great time 'cause I literally laughed through the entire taping report. This episode sounds really funny and I can't wait to see it. (Amy makes me laugh for everything can possibly come out of her mouth, even if I only read her lines in the TR haha I guess I'm just a sucker for her character!). Aw the Shelnard! It will make me cry my eyeballs out when the time of stop sharing the same apartment comes.

Sounds like a funny episode with lots of Shelnard goodness - the two of them crying over the prospect of Leonard moving out is just - I don't think I am ready for that moment any more than Sheldon is, but Leonard is right, he is just moving out of the apartment, not out of Sheldon's life - Lenny spending the night in Penny's apartments was a step forward, but then a step back with Sheldon staying over too - but at least Sheldon didn't run away again at the thought of Leonard moving out and he did compromise by sleeping on the couch that is to small for his big cornish head - maybe Amy can start spending one night a week at Sheldon's to make the transition easier for him - the rest of the episode sounds good too - Lenny and Shamy going cloths shopping together, the Pamy scenes, Sheldon telling Leonard that Amy taught him out to drive and Howard and Raj discussing the merits of the Temple of Doom - sounds like a fun episode :)

The most probable date is the eighth of January. We have the 8.11, The Clean Room Infiltration on December 11th. On the 18th is repeat of 8.03 The First Pitch Insufficiency. The two weeks after that are Cristmas and New Years, so no new ones. That would leave the 8th and 15th of January as the two new episodes for the month, as they generally run a repeat the week before Sweeps starts, and Feburary sweeps starts on the 29th of January this year.

I'm sure the episode will be funny. Saying that though there is really no character development in this episode. Lenny has stayed over plenty of times at Penny's during the show without Sheldon caring. Now he has to sleep on Penny's couch. Sounds like a step backward. Sheldon drove with Penny before. No new ground there. Miss the significance of Leonard moving across the hall. It's not like he's moving out of the building.

I think Sheldon sleeping on penny's couch is just being funny, like the FWF renew, just for a tag scene, I don't think there will be another FWF record on screen. In this case, Sheldon will be kicked out soon on the next sleepover day. :p

The Anny part is sweet, it makes their friendship seems mutual.

Thanks for the report!

Yeah but he drove with Penny under extreme duress almost six years ago and nothing since. There is a big difference between that and trusting Amy enough to let her teach him to drive. As for the sleeping on her couch part that was just for laughs :p
