Okay that does make sense. It worked for me. Well at least until most of my kids reached adulthood. These days I avoid social situations and try to catch up on new technology.

I find as I get older I don't want or need to be social, am happy staying in and doing my own thing, though I am venturing out to works Xmas dinner tomorrow so I'm sure that will be fun

When is the next taping?

I think my mother might be psychic. Before the taping I asked her what she wanted to see in the episode and she said,"oh I really want to see them sing Soft Kitty, no wait I want Leonard to sing Soft Kitty". And then she tells me half way through the taping, "oh wouldn't it be cool if they did another flash mob". haha :)

Your mom should come when she wants other things to happen too ;). LOL.

BTW, I wanna see the flashmob more than the new episodes at this point. LOL.

Does anybody know how much control the network exerts on the creative aspects of the show?  For example, would they tell the writers/producers to incorporate more focus on a certain aspect of the show, would they veto a story, would they edit the dialogue on a given episode?

The network has very little say on the creative process of a program. Plus by the time the network receives the edited program and begins scheduling it and embedding network commercials they don't have a ton of lead time to change an episode.

Now the network does have control on airing the episode.. So if they fear it's something controversial or FCC issues, then they could pull it or replace it, but actually changing the episode is a NO

I think the network mostly is concerned about bad words or the perception of bad words.  There are certain words you can't say on network TV during prime time, so obviously TBBT doesn't go there.

I don't think the network tries to tell the writers or producers stuff like, "Hey, you need to do an episode about _________ because the viewers really liked it before" or whatever.  I think the writers and producers decide for themselves the kinds of stories they want to tell.

I do think that the network has some kind of input on content, but it's again, mostly about things like keeping the show within it's "TV-14" rating label and all that.

I remember a story from a writer on The X-Files saying that the network complained about some reference to poop.  I don't remember what word it was they wanted them to change, but it was something weird.

I've always wondered about Howard's line in one episode (maybe the one about finding the home of the supermodels?) where he said something like "Thank you Google Earth registered-trademark"--if the "registered trademark" was something they kind of threw in as a funny way to satisfy some kind of permission to reference it or what.

I see that they are pulling a Houdini with the Lenny kiss like they did with the Shamy hug. Pretty sure Batman said the kiss didn't make it into the episode.

Maybe they did :p In any case I think a kiss with two ppl who reguarly do or one of their assets has always been their intimacy. Takes precedence over just a hug. So they prob have more just cause to keep the kiss in. If they did hypothetically speaking.

Too bad Google translate doesn't have a "Huh?" category.
