Okay, I wasn't going to bring this up because I wanted it to be a fun surprise, but since it's come up in the topic...

Penny has read 50 Shades, and Sheldon has accidentally read her copy of it. I believe his exact response was something along the lines of, "How many times can one woman's loins detonate?" #saidsheldontoamy

Oh my god, that's really weird. And did he actually say this to Amy or Penny? Just confused because you stretched out the Sheldon to Amy part at the end...

He said it to Penny. "Said Sheldon to Amy" is just something we like to say instead of "that's what she said." He didn't actually say it to or in front of Amy.

It would not take a genius to discover the mistake.

The joke was that once he starts something, he has to finish, no matter how awful it is. So yes, he figure out what it was, but he had already started it and had to see it through.

I've read the first one (and that was plenty-nuff thank you)!

The Guardian rather amusingly digested it if you want to know the plotline without subjecting yourself to the appalling writing.

Here you go: http://www.theguardian.com/books/2012/apr/29/fifty-shades-grey-digested-read

That plot synopsis was hilarious, and you saved me from the agony of reading the book. Thank you!

A preview of Shamy coitus?   :p

Was going to say that explains his relationship with Amy, but I know some people would take it seriously.  :icon_evil:

It's as good a reason as any if you were an S1-3 fan. Otherwise try "there is a lock for every key". Or dating sites have good algorithms after all. Or its just ineffable. Which Amy hopes is not the case (pun intended).

Yes, he hates the Geology Dept. He always has. How long have you been watching the show?

Last year. December 31. Before new year. I have watched an episode.where Sheldon's character stood up. I fell inlove with him and Amy's character. I haven't watched the full.episodes of any season. I watched through youtube and im trying to catch up but seems like I'm Olympic way too late..

To get the full Shamy relationship, start with season 3, episode 23 when they first meet and go from there. [emoji4]

But we (the audience) have witnessed his dislike w/ the geology dept. further back when the guys play paintball.

I think it would be shame to start at 3/23 to be honest. Firstly because first three season are also amazing , and secondly because if you fall in love with show because of Shamy, you will find their relationship even more sweet if you will see where Sheldon's character began and how much Amy affected him. That's really something one have to see to understand how their love story is unique.

Yes, Sheldon despise geologists... it seems like it's some sort of running joke in science community ? I remember Ross from Friends having hard time with being three time divorced, assuming now no one will want him telling something like who would want three time divorced guy? Bellow me are only four time divorced, murderer and geologists :icon_cheesygrin:

True, she should start at the very beginning.

Regarding geologists, I thought it was amusing what the writers said last year at Comic-con.  They joked that they can't go into a geology building because they'd get rocks thrown at them.  "This is feldspar!" (hurling a rock), "This is quartz!" (hurling another).

I watched.only.the clips and not.yet the whole episodes. I kinda envy everyone in here. :-)

I just remembered he woke up with a geology book with him.. Haha.. I thought that was.funny.

you really should start from the beginning, season 1. Watching just YouTube clips you are missing stuff. Plus, if you watch from day 1 you'll really enjoy probably more characters (not just Shamy) and really appreciate the growth for almost all of them.

Thank you. Yeah . Still lot of catching up to do.

I like Lenny and Raj.. All of them I get to appreciate.. Its just Shamy stood up.. :-)

The gniess thing about geologists is they know their schist.

Wasn't he wasted when he "read" the geology book?

Totally.

Hate is such a strong word. He says he has no respect for the field. He does not seem to respect anyone elses work unless it is pure genius.

Sheldon's disrespect for Geology is one of the best running jokes of the whole show imo. I was studying for Geology exam 2 weeks ago and I was struggling with it SO MUCH, because I could totally see all the scenes in front of my eyes, lol. Completely lost it when I came across geodes.

hey...question for those whose cable systems show 2/12 as a repeat, can you please just look up what it says for 930PM on 2/12?  The reason I ask is McCarthys got pulled this weekend by CBS and BBT is going in those dates/times 2/5 & 2/12 at 930PM EST.  Again, I still do not show confirmation as 2/12 as a repeat on the CBS programming schedule and usually I get notice of this stuff as we are constantly in the programming sites.

I checked TV Guide on my side and I do see what you all see that 2/12 isn't listed as new BUT I show 930PM still in as a New McCarthys.  So trying to figure this out.

Thanks
