I was told today that my Christmas present is to be allowed to come to a taping. My kids and wife will be chipping in to help defray the cost. I still have to come up with the rest, so it may not be

Outside the studio!

Just crawling out of hiding to let y'all know that I have secured tickets to the 8.01 taping. Anyone else going? Here are some helpful tips and information for getting tickets: Where to get ticket

So excited to have gotten my very first ticket to a live taping on 10/28 and to have found this forum of such great fans! I know... I'm several seasons late on this one. I'll be going by myself and am a little nervous about that. Anyone else going on their own? I'd love to meet other fans too!

Yep we have sheldon47 going as well! I also grabbed a standby for myself but not sure at this point if I'll be going to it or not. If so, maybe we can meet up!

Unfortunately I don't think you can turn a standby into a guaranteed unless you know someone with a guaranteed that is willing to give up their ticket for you. But I will say that last week, I got to the line around 2pm with a few other standbys and they got in just fine! And my first taping, I showed up at 1pm and got in. It's never a guarantee but it's possible!

Okay so not sure if this will be a perpetual problem, but I wanted to let you guys know what happened to me when I arrived at Warner Brothers today.

I showed up around 9am because I have standby. The parking guard asked me what show I was here for and when I said Big Bang he said, "you're here early. We're not supposed to let you park until 2:30." I told him I was standby and he said it didn't matter. Then I pointed out that I've come earlier and he said they had in the past but now they can't.

Which makes sense because last week, I showed up at 2pm and they were valeting on the roof and still had no room to park. I think it's because the Ellen audience is huge and they want to allow them to park.

He let me go in this time, but they might be stricter with it in the future, I don't know. It seems to be a new rule they're trying out.

So my recommendation is to either bus or taxi/uber if you want to come early, or just tell them you're there for Ellen. I don't know if they'll ask to see a ticket but you can probably say a friend has them or something. Idk I just wanted to give you guys a heads up!

Thanks for the tip Michy....Makes me nervous for coming early for stand-bye in Jan if I don't get a guarentee.

Is Ellen taping in January? If not, it might not be an issue. I just know it's really busy now. And it might just be the guard I got. Idk. >_>

I'm here too. Not much parking left. They're making standby big bang stand outsideuntil around 3 but it looks like the Ellen people are already inside.

I burn like bacon when I'm not prepped with sunscreen. Think I'm gonna watch doctor who in the car for a while and bring my parasol next time just in case this happens again.

Michy is sitting next to a Pilot in the queue that was at the Fish Guts taping.. She sent me a recording of him describing it... I died haha!

There is another girl there who is bitching about Penny, Amy and Bernie... Michy hasn't taking a liking to her understandably! lucky I'm not there ;)

Okay so for anyone keeping track at home. Audiences Unlimited arrived around 3:30 today to separate the lines. About the same time time as last week.

I'm dropping my phone in my car now, so I'll see y'all after the show!

Around when will the site be likely to have the January dates? I can't remember how far in advance they usually have the dates posted.

Exactly thirty days before the scheduled taping, so roughly the equivalent day in December. When they post confirmed January tape dates, I'll add them in the first post with when tickets will go up. :)

With guaranteed tickets, will parking in their parking structure be a problem if I arrive closer to 5? Or should I just plan to arrive early to make sure I get a spot? Does the garage ever fill up? If so, is there somewhere else close by to park?

The garage does fill up, but by 5pm, a lot of the Ellen crowd might have left. Five is really cutting it close for guaranteed, though, because that's about when they'll start letting in Standbys. I was fourth in line for standby and they let us in around 5:10. You can still go in with a guaranteed at any time, provided they haven't given your seat away to a standby yet. That's why they tend to recommend arrive prior to 90 minutes before.

I haven't explored much parking nearby but I haven't seen a whole lot of options. I plan to keep looking into it, but so far I haven't found too many options.

They didn't ask to see my ticket. Perhaps you could just say you're there for Ellen?

Good to know, thank you! Yeah I'd say you're there for Ellen and just park. If you don't want to show up mad early and wait around with a guaranteed ticket, you can always park and go on the Warner Brothers VIP tour, get some food in the area, etc. to kill time.

Hey, does anyone have an idea of typically how far in advanced the dates are released for tapings? I didn't pay attention before but I am going to try and go to the one after Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January if there is a taping :)

It seems really sporadic. I believe October and November dates were released pretty close to each other, then December came out way later. So I don't think there's any set schedule to them posting the dates. I guess just as soon as production knows what's up, which probably depends on their writing pace, if anyone is taking time off, if they scrap a script and start over, etc.
