I was told today that my Christmas present is to be allowed to come to a taping. My kids and wife will be chipping in to help defray the cost. I still have to come up with the rest, so it may not be

Outside the studio!

Just crawling out of hiding to let y'all know that I have secured tickets to the 8.01 taping. Anyone else going? Here are some helpful tips and information for getting tickets: Where to get ticket

Can adults take children (teens) to tapings with them or is it not allowed? (btw BBTfanatics you are soo lucky and have fun)

Children under 18 are allowed in if they are VIP. Regular ticket holders through the AU site (guaranteed and standby) have to be eighteen or older. I have seen children go but only when they are invited guests.

2:00 pm, 41 in line.

Thank you for the detailed stat updates! It's always great to know what the numbers look like for future reference. Looks like 11am is a good time to show up for standby!

Thank you for all the info! We made it into the taping. I believe everyone in the standby line made it in. We had great seats, directly in front of Sheldon's apt where the opening scene took place. I won't be a spoiler, but will tell you the name of the episode, "The Space Probe Disintegration"! Thanks again!!

I saw that you got a signed photo of the cast. Congrats! It was nice meeting you and your wife. :)

Sounds like you all had a great time! I'm glad you got such great seats! How did you get a signed photo of the cast? I was also wondering if there is a gift shop for TBBT on the Warner Bros lot, where you can buy T-shirts and stuff?

We are happy to make your acquaintance as well Trinabeana! Ref Suzi, the gift shop is located where you catch the VIP tours, just follow the signs. It maybe a 1/4 mile or so from Gate 3 (entrance for BBT). Getting a signed photo is a long story. In short, Mark Sweet (the warm up man) and I have a link from some 50 years ago!

Either it's a more involved shoot, or they want to get out of there early. :p

Too bad Jim is going to miss his own performance of Elf!

He's better off at work...people love to hate-watch television specials...and considering the devotion some people show toward the Will Farrell original, I am sure Twitter will be on fire that night.

(Meekly admits to hate-watching Peter Pan Live, but it was so much fun) :)

I'm curious about what the reviewers will say.

I am eager to see if our local TV guy will feature it.  In the Sunday paper they do an article about whatever might be newsworthy on TV for the TV listing insert, and then he also writes a column about upcoming things, like specials, series features, etc.

So, I'm hoping this special gets a mention in at least one of those places.  I don't know what the reviewer thinks of Jim or TBBT, though.  I don't know if he's ever mentioned either one in his columns before.

I just realized the other day that I thought I had Elf on DVD, but I don't.  I do hope that NBC puts this version out on DVD at some point.
