Hello all.

Felt I had to post, especially as I've just discovered this forum, but I'm so So excited as I managed to just get 2 tickets (STANDBY) for the 03/03 taping.

We're coming over from the UK for a dream holiday and now we've 'binked' these 2 tickets, it's going to be absolutely fabulous.

Has anyone any great advice please to help us get into the show as my understanding is, that as they are STANDBY tickets we're only likely to get in, if all the other full ticket owners don't turn up? Is that a fair summary?

Cheers

For info - although I guess most of the 'regs' here already know this - but for newbies like me.

The tickets go really really fast.

You need to get each ticket individually as only 1 is allowed per application.

I logged on at 0900hrs California time. - BUT I think they're available earlier?

Only STANDBY tickets were available then.

The ticket numbers on the 2 we have are 109 apart, and it was only some 90 seconds between each application (although I guess this could be much faster for those familiar with the site).

Has anyone any idea how many seats there are in the audience and how many guaranteed seats are 'sold' for each taping? i.e. what's my odds at getting in?

so excited, so many questions!

Cheers

I've never been able to figure out how many guaranteed they give away, but I imagine they give out enough to fill the non-VIP seats. There are approximately 240 seats in the audience, and they will reserve up to 75 for VIP.

As for getting in on standby, it truly does vary from taping to taping. I've seen as many as 60 to 70 standby get in, and as few as nine or three. Generally the rule is, if you can get there by 11 AM, your chances are pretty good to get in. Obviously, the earlier you get there, the better your chances. I would recommend bringing a book or something to do to pass the time, and some food. There are some places nearby if you could have someone hold your space, you can go get some food, or you can order delivery from a few places in the area to have food during the day.

Go figure, I would be up at 8 AM every ticket day and they would go up after 8:30, and the one day I get up at 8:15, the guaranteed are already gone.

So, the tickets are released at 8:00am PT, right?  I'm feeling crazy, but I want to try for tickets on 2/23 for the 3/24 taping, BUT I have to leave my apartment by 9:00am CT, which is 8PT. :(

I'm going to need help on this, I guess...

I'll be around (at actual 8am this time). They tend to go up at 8:30, but I've seen them go up as early as 7:50 and as late as almost 9am. They really do f*kall they want, but it tends to hover around the 8:30am mark.

Well, I'd appreciate some help because I teach one day a week at a university, but I have to leave by 9am CT to get there.  I might try, if possible, to go online with my ipad before I have to leave, but that would only work if they somehow put them up early.  Plus my computer at home is kind of jacked up when it comes to getting online.  It's a crap shoot.

I hadn't thought about the timing thing until today.  I still feel crazy thinking about trying to do this.  A lot of financial chips need to fall in the right place.  Just this morning I thought I had a nice little sum of money when I found out I had to pay towards my deductible for my MRI tomorrow.  Goodbye $320.

Sometimes I hate my life...

But this taping on the 24th looks so golden in terms of timing.  It's spring break for the university, so I won't miss a teaching day, and the symphony has nothing going on, so I'm good on that front.  Plus I'll only miss 2 days of work--Tuesday and Wednesday.

I don't know if I'll ever have another opportunity with such perfect timing.

Okay, next step in my dilemma:

I can't afford to buy my plane ticket for a few days, probably not until the 15th, but should I wait to make sure I have ticket for the show before I buy my plane ticket?  I don't want to buy a nonrefundable ticket only to find out I can't get into the show...

If I get a standby ticket, I'll take my chances, but if I don't get any ticket, I don't want to be stuck with a flight I can't use (unless I could maybe move it to the weekend and fly out to see the Home premiere...hmm...)

What have you all done?

The chances are next to zero that you won't at least get a standby. Those are pretty manageable to swing. The bigger risk is them rescheduling the taping, but that's something you can't really plan for at all anyway. I say go for it if you find a good deal on a flight. You don't want to wait too long and have the prices go up.

EDIT: Also I just realized, are you talking about 9am Central? Because that would only be 7am PST. For Central time zone, the tickets go up around 10:30am.

Dang it, you're right about the time zone--I always forget that I'm 2 hours ahead of CA.  I for sure won't be able to get on the website in time. :(

Seeing Kunal host the Late Late Show with Michy and seeing a certain promo pic made me realize that I am not yet over my obsession with this show. lol I decided I NEED to go to another taping soon. I was going to wait and go to one in March, but lucky for me Michy had tickets for me for this Tuesday 2/10. I am really excited to go back again. Thanks again Michy! :shy:

Dang!  Well, thanks anyways.  I guess my only hope to sit on Sheldon's spot is when the show is over and maybe that's when the set is moved over to another location like the Friends set is.  I guess, right now that spot is still reserved for special people and ESPECIALLY Jim Parsons a*s.

I got tickets for 3/10. It doesn't say standby on it, but does have a disclaimer: "THIS TICKET DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION TO THE STUDIO.

TICKET HOLDERS ARE ADMITTED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS AS SPACE ALLOWS."

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is this a guaranteed or standby ticket? I'd be traveling quite a ways, so I want to make sure I'd get in if I go through all the arrangements.
