Is it sad that the thing that makes me happiest right now is that the "The" in the title of this thread is spelled with a capital T unlike last year's titles? You have no idea how nuts that was driving me. LOL!

First episode thread! I'm emotional, it's beginning !

Im tempted to make and distribute T-Shirts saying:

"We beat the 2014 hiatus..

But it cost our sanity...

worth it"

Yes, that was an annoying "feature" of the forum. If you put the title in quotation marks, which I used to, it would switch it to a lower-case t. I think it's some feature to stop people typing everything in caps, but it just made the titles wrong. This year I'm not putting the titles in quotations marks.

I also switched to writing the episode number as 801, instead of 8.01. 801 is the proper way (as seen on the script covers), but it seriously used to confuse people when we'd write about episode 111 or 205. Some people thought there were hundreds of episodes they'd missed.

The haircut looked okay on her but it does change my image of the character to me, I definitely don't see her as the hot girl across the hall, she actually looks like she belongs with Leonard, not that she is too hot for him. I think it makes her look older, a pretty woman but not too hot to be a professors wife.

She hasen't been the Hot Girl From across the hall for years, the viewers image of her has been deconstructed probably since Season 5. The haircut just supplements her new personality and maturity.

agreed!!  She's matured and the haircut shows that.  Her outfits have too.  She's growing up, got a big girl job now, soon-to-be married, the haircut fits it.

Great start to the season. Everyone had their moments. Loved Sheldon's opening scene. Classic clueless Cooper. Raj was at his smartarse best ribbing Howard and I think I'm going to enjoy Stuart versus Howard if they keep it going. Better than pathetic loser Stuart. I liked Kaley's portrayal of Penny as nervous interviewee - it came across much better than I depicted it from the taping report, which is why I usually reserve judgement until viewing. Mayim played the wounded girlfriend beautifully and I loved her smile after their car discussion. Not sure if Sheldon was testing her hearing the second time round. Leonard was his usual support role feeding the punchlines but Johnny did it well as always. One of the better episode 1s for the show I've seen. But episode 2 was better.
