NonStopPop
Okay, so it's a little self-promotion. What can I say? I think it's a really fun read, even if I *am* the one who conducted the interview. http://www.bullz-eye.com/television/interviews/2009/jim_parsons.htm Hope you dig it! nightengaleo
Thanks Very good interview. Jim gives great in depth answers. Hate when an actor gives one or two lines. He is so interesting I was glad to get his take on those scenes between Sheldon and Penny , I totally got the same feelings that he really just looked to look, not out of any sexual desire or any real curiosity. And I loved the soft kitty in the round but I felt just like he did. Sheldon didn't want to do it like that because he felt it was not right for the song but after he heard them he felt it was good. I had a conversation with someone who thought his expression meant he was falling for Penny . I kept saying that I thought that expression on his face was that he was falling for singiing the song in the round. I agree with him about Leonard and Penny and I do actually hope they stay together. It will be unchartered territory for a sit com and he is right this show doesn't need to re do Ross and Rach or Moonlighting. I also feel like it is just normal to see them as a couple now. It just seems natural and agree with Jim, it has given the show so many more funny scenarios not only for Sheldon and Penny but for all of the characters. I was glad to see some questions about him and his character that didn't include Penny. I am getting the feeling that some only care about sheldon if he is in scenes with Penny. I would like him to have some autonomy away from those scenes becaue I think Sheldon and Jim is good with everyone. Seems to be the only questions he gets these days. I loved his scenes with Raj and the ones with Raj and Howard and the cricket and then with Leonard and Raj last week. Thanks again for the interview and posting it here

atheles
Thank you for the interview, I really enjoyed reading it and, as it was said before, I really appreciate Jim's tendency of giving long asnwers and not cutting them to 1-2 sentences. deelink
Thanks for the interview! I guess it's easy to assume in simplistic terms that there is a large gap of people that want to "normalise" Sheldon by making him more "human" or "normal". I know I have said so in the past, but I think it's more than that; It's about seeing how far he experiments in trying to relate with those around him, and by exploring his motives for doing so. I want to see more of that! Because it's damn funny. It would be pretty strange if all Sheldon equaled to was Science, there has to be more there! (He isn't Vulcan, a Robot or a Pod is he?) And I think Penny is there to draw it out, to draw out the curiosity of Sheldon, and I think people sense that, and naturally become "Shenny" supporters. I don't mind Leonard dating Penny, because it gives Sheldon more of an excuse to hang out with her. And that in turn is comedy gold.

He's great the way he is. Teaching Penny physics to help her relate to Leonard was priceless. So was Leonard's mother, the psycho psyc from Frasier. Let's work on something for Raj ! deelink
Wait, where did I say that I was Sheldon to have sex? No no no, God, that would be so weird and the show would have to be like in it's 10th season for him to even get there! Ah maybe I am not good at expressing myself. Basically, I said that the fun part for me is to see him interact with people, and I can see him almost adapting to Penny in a way that isn't so scientific (Let's be honest, she can't understand that stuff, so he has to re-translate it for her, which is funny!) Their friendship is awesome, and because Penny is dating Leonard, they can continue that along! My own personal feelings about who should go out with whom is irrelevant. But if you ARE curious, I would like Sheldon and Penny to fall in love, at the very end. But I admit that it's foolish, hopelessly romantic and highly unlikely. So who cares? TamTam
I´ve seen many interviews, that where given by the whole Cast (in separate), but I have to admit, that I LOVE Jim´s interviews.:D And this one was another great interview with him!! smeghead
That was great, thanks. The point that stood out most for me was when he discussed the relationship between L&P where he said: "it was one more intimate way to get Penny into Sheldon’s life, to irritate him just by her mere existence. “Irritate†may not be the right word, but just to, y’know, push a button and force him to deal with her." I havent heard Sheldon's relationship with Penny summed up better.
