Stargazer
True! Cooper kripke episode is the worst for that, by the time they've cut out the convo between Sheldon and Barry none of it makes sense Don't know if they still repeat the show later the same night but nothing is cut out in those. It's bizarre what they do cut out and even more what they leave in! They will perhaps leave in something about sex but take out a reference to a hooker or 'the whore of Omaha' that you think would be ok in contrast. When one has watched the show several times (cough) then it is so noticeable when things are missed out.

Offensiveness is all a matter of opinion, so some of the E4 Quality Control might have different opinions of what constitutes 'offensive' to others. Â The problem is that most people will only be able to watch these episodes on TV until the DVDs come out unless they stream online. TreesRgreen
I had never realised that they cut scenes from the show till I read this thread. Then yesterday I was watching reruns I had recorded whilst I was away and noticed in the Mommy Observation episode there were so many comments cut from conversations that they almost did not make sense. Admittedly the episodes were recorded from the lunch time airing so that may be the reason.  As the premiere is listed for 8.30 pm I am now concerned that this will also be affected. Think I will record the 8.30 one on E4 and it's rerun at 9.30 on E4+1 just in case.  ETA - Thanks for the heads up. Tonstar17
If its shown after 9.00pm (watershed) then no cuts, but am thinking isn't E4+1 just going to repeat the exact same episode from an hour ago. You need the late night/early morning version and even then they sometimes make a mistake and show the early time version.

Yes, E4+1 simply show exactly what E4 has shown, just one hour later, adverts and all. The only distinctions between E4 and E4+1 are the name and the one hour time difference.  I'm sure they don't cut episodes until the repeat them though. I have noticed episodes from Season 7 which have clearly been cut but they have been repeats, and I noticed that the jokes which were cut in the repeats were shown on the original showing. I think they show the new episodes in their entirety the first time and then edit them when they repeat them. The first showing of each episode is probably your best bet if you do want to see uncut TBBT on E4.
Tonstar17
So true stewie & Zhalen. Well I am glad I don't watch bbt on E4, gave up on them a long time ago. I just can't deal with the cuts expecially when you know the line coming & then bang, it's gone. Nope can't deal with that. Sticking to watching online, downloads & DVD. rachelshamyfan
Its interesting that the episode that E4 have chosen to come on before season 8 starts The parking spot escalation, would make sense if they aired Status Quo so the episodes could run consecutively but nm Edited October 23, 2014 by rachelshamyfan

It's always been a popular episode, so maybe they're putting it on to try and get a few more extra viewers in the earlier slot, so then those viewers will continue watching for the Season 8 Premiere. Â Enjoy the Premiere everyone. Any thoughts, reviews or opinions of UK viewers on the Premiere can be posted here if you want. I'd be interested to hear what other UK viewers think of the episode when it airs.

Stewie99
Think digital spy will have the ratings by mid morning Yes, I'll post them on the ratings thread and on this one when I can.  On the subject of ratings, here are the ratings of recent TBBT UK Season premieres. It will be interesting to see if the Season 8 premiere can top Season 6's, which was the 7th most watched programme in E4 history. 701 The Hofstadter Insufficiency: 2,320,000 601 The Date Night Variable: 2,803,000 501 The Skank Reflex Analysis: 1,081,000 401 The Robotic Manipulation: 877,000  The lower ratings for the Season 7 UK Premiere can be blamed on it airing on Halloween Night- a few channels were running specials that evening which may have taken viewers from TBBT.  It remains to be seen if TBBT will get as good ratings as the Season 6 Premiere because TBBT is up against some stiff competition from the main channels. BBC1 are showing consumer series 'Watchdog', BBC2 have got 'The Great British Sewing Bee' in the same timeslot, ITV will show 'Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs' and Channel 4 are showing the first in a new series of 'George Clarke's Amazing Spaces'. All appeal to different types of viewer and all can expect good ratings, but where will that leave TBBT? Will UK ratings be affected by such a strong night of competition? Stewie99
Review: The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 1: 'The Locomotion Interruption'  An enjoyable episode, but not a classic, in my opinion.  The Premiere didn't get off to the best of starts; I thought the opening bit with Sheldon in the train station was a bit like a scene from a pantomime, but things picked up from there.  The Sheldon stuff was the probably the funniest, especially his remarks to Officer Hernandez in the police station about Sherlock Holmes. The humour in that storyline was subdued a bit when Leonard and Amy arrived to collect Sheldon though- I thought the scenes in the car were trying a bit too hard to be funny. I also thought there wasn't enough Leonard/Sheldon interaction in the storyline.  The Howard/Stuart segments were hit and miss, but I enjoyed the scenes with Howard and Raj in the car, especially when they are listening to Stuart and Debbie's new voicemail message. The argument between Stuart, Howard and Bernadette was funny too, especially when both of the guys were trying to make out like they were each others' fathers.  The Penny stuff was by far the least entertaining storyline of the evening, I just didn't think it worked. Bernadette getting angry was funny when she got stressed with Leonard in The Scavenger Vortex, but it just didn't work as well with Penny this evening, and I can't really work out why.  Cut Count: No visible cuts, E4 quality control must have been either really lenient or really good at cutting for this episode as there wasn't anything which was obviously cut out.  Best Line: Sheldon: 'There are lots of books called Sherlock Holmes. There aren't any books called Officer Hernandez'.  Performance of The Week: This has got to go to Jim Parsons for this episode- his portrayal of Sheldon was convincing and funny as usual.  Score: 6/10. ATOB
Good. ☺ Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk Don't mean to freak you out (what with it being Halloween an' that), but the ghost of cookie monster is trying to break out from your glass. OOooOooo Spooky! Is it just me or is the cinematography brighter in Season 8? The episode looked more high key and deep focus somehow. Dunno! (I noticed Season 5 seemed to have a different feel to it too when I first watched it.) Yeah, found the opener cringey (for God's sake give the extras some lines...tight-arses), rest was okay.
