FYI...wonder what Simon is standing on....to appear taller

I'm sure they have all kinds of boxes and stools, etc., in those photo booth things--Mayim is sitting on something pretty high and Kunal is sitting on a sort of box, as well.

It looks like they wanted Jim, Johhny and Kaley kind of together, and Melissa may also be on a little box or something (or wearing really high heels), then since Mayim is up so high, they had to put Simon on a box.

I love how none of the guys wore ties to this event. ;)

I really like the atmosphere at the People Choice Awards.. I love popular prizes! They represent  public's taste and the people's love for shows and actors

to me is an important award  :)

They were great, nice and funny as always, beautiful pics also this year!

Holy Crap (on a cracker)!! Look at those heels!! No wonder Jim had to help her get on stage!! If I wore shoes like that, I'd have to have him give me a piggy back ride and I don't mean that in a sexual way!

I would literally fall on my face (or ass) after taking no more than three steps. Even with a short skirt. I don't do heels! I have no balance or coordination whatsoever! Lol

Johnny is in fact little - judging from me tiny dwarf standing next to him and being taller - so there must have been some sort of box to make them seem taller. I think the composition of the picture, too, needs it so for me its fine :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I actually felt sad for awhile because I actually tried to vote in the People's Choice Award categories the day before the awards ceremony, only to find out that the voting period had already expired by that point. Because of this, I never wanted to watch the PCAs ceremony, and am not planning to watch any other televised awards ceremonies for the remainder of this calendar year. Soon after, I made a vow to never miss another PCA voting period again. I think the voting period for the PCAs usually takes place during the month of November.

In my opinion, the People's Choice Awards are supposed to be better than any other awards, because the PCAs are voted on by the general public, unlike most other awards, where you, like, have to be a member of the awards' "academies" (I think) to vote for a category's nominee.

Yes it takes place during the November window. First you vote to submit potential nominees. Then you vote for the actual nominees. Voting actually ended I think 1-2 weeks before the show took place. Your right though the PCA's should be considered more legit. As this is not awards given to them by their peers and the industry. And like you said for anyone in the public to vote for any nominees. You have to be a member of the Awards Academies to vote. And although BBT winning an Emmy would be the biggest recoginition the show could possibly receive. The fact they keep winning PCA's based soley on the actual public who watch the show. And seeing it wan Fav Network Comedy, and Fav TV Show. Despite what people may say in blogs about it not deserving it bla bla bla haha. The fact the masses keep picking BBT over MF. Has to say something.

The Academy Awards are nominated and voted on by the actors of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In other words, the people who make movies. The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild) are voted on only by other actors, who make movies and television. The Emmys are voted on by those in television, but the have some weird voting thing where only some of the people vote on it. The DGA(Directors Guild of America) and the PGA(Producers Guild of America) are voted on only by those who direct and produce movies and television.

All of the above awards are voted on by their peers. With the Oscars and Emmy's all or part of the members vote, the other three are only voted on by those who act, direct, or produce. For example, an actor winning an award from SAG means that only those who act for movies or television, the same as you, thought you were the best. Same for the director and producers(and writers also) While getting awards for how well the general public like you is nice, having your peers say your work was the best, is much more satisfying.

The PCAs are a popularity contest, not an indicator of who is the best at what they do.

It may indicate which shows are more popular among viewers, but that's kind of already evident with ratings.  But just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's necessarily good.  *cough*Honey Boo Boo*cough*

It's also a measure of how many internet fans a show has, or the demographic.  My parents might love certain shows, but they're not going to go on the internet to vote for them.  That's one reason why something like NCIS doesn't win for Best Drama.  It might be pulling in great ratings, but the demographic for that show isn't likely to be doing online voting.

The other awards probably do indicate some aspect of popularity--if enough of the various academy voters actually saw them, they're more likely to vote for them--but they're supposed to be about the quality of the work, not just ratings or box office or how many times someone was on the cover of a magazine.

Different awards groups have different tendencies, but in the industry they're taken more seriously than simply popularity contests.

Oh yeah of course the PCA's are popularity contests. Clearly BBT demographic are online alot haha. So it makes sense the show wan. I am just pointing out the PCA's deserves to be more legit. As people who watch tv are actually voting for the shows and actors. Not everyone but most. OF course Emmys e.t.c. Are more worthy. As the quality of your work is measured and judged by your peers. So it's more prestigeous.
