I really wasn't looking forward to this ep for some reason.  It just sounded blah, plus I'm no fan of Billy Bob.  Ended up really loving it!  Maybe because instead of 2 or 3 storylines, there was like 1.5.  They didn't try to make the Amy/Bernie thing more than it was, which left time for lots of fun character interaction in the simple main story.  I love cozy, insular episodes, and this felt that way despite having 2 non-apartment locations.

Oh, and Billy Bob was great!

This is the first Big Bang episode ever that has not made me laugh out loud at all.  Usually I can't stop.  I also didn't like that the Amy/Bernie conflict wasn't actually resolved, since frankly I thought Bernie crossed a line in a very big way with her comment about Amy's sexuality.  I expect next week to more than make up for my disappointment, though. :)

I loved this episode.  I thought it was a lot of fun and BBT was great in his role.  It was nice to see him notice Amy and like her, even if he was a bit of a desperate man.   But it was a nice twist, especially right after she had been burned by Bernie.  I do think they did sort of resolve it.  Bernie not only tried to apologize at the bar, but she sought Amy out and apologized but Amy cut her off because they needed to go get the guys.   But I am certain Amy got over it.  It was hurtful, but next week she will get it made up for in other ways. :girlwink:

  1. Well, the east coast has spilled the beans — but I’m still not allowed to reveal the name of the guest star on tonight’s #BigBangTheory

Bernadette had a point though, point is Amy isint some exception she cannot be called out when the need arises, good on Bernadette IMO.

I didn't have a problem with Bernadette suggesting Amy might be jealous, though I personally think Amy was acting on principle. I just think the part about nobody being interested in Amy's sexuality was an unnecessarily harsh thing to say to a friend who she knows has been struggling with Sheldon's intimacy issues.

Amy stuck her nose into something that didn't involve her. she needed IMO to apology to Bernadette for what she did. in principle she shouldn't be a doormat at times to Sheldon. Seems she doesn't have a problem with that.

Finally, finally a wonderful episode this season. I laughed a lot. The guys storyline A++++  . BBT A+++++

Glad the Amy/Bernie subplot was very little. It was boring. C

Was I the only one who felt that Amy had a point? She did have the right to an opinion about this article because like she said, she was a female scientist too and what Bernie does affects her. Mayim also seemed very genuine in her delivery with her reasons on the principle of the thing. While Amy doesn't have a say in what Bernie does specifically with her body and choices, she had every right to send that notice to the article writers, and they seemed to see her point too since it was cancelled. I don't think Amy would have made as a big deal if it wasn't Bernie specifically, so she can possibly be faulted in that area, but I don't think she was in the wrong overall. It's true that they might not have done that with the guy scientists and I thought Bernie's comeback to that was pretty lame (even if it was just for laughs).

Overall, I didn't have a problem with their conflict and thought it was a good one, which is why I was disappointed to not have more resolution to that. I forget who it is, but someone mentioned that right after it she goes to Billy Bob who expresses interest in her which I think they were trying to make a sort of "resolution" of how Amy can be wanted (we see Amy wanted by that geologist too after all heehee!), but I think that could have been more apparent as a "solution".

Anyone else here who was on Amy's side for this?

I am a little confused why Bernadette didn't understand why underwear modelling isn't something serious scientists do in magazine articles about science. It would seem to be fairly obvious, because if they do they won't be taken seriously. Bernadette is generally very career savvy. There is nothing in a shoot like that to move her forward, gain her influence or opportunity. Except for a quick vanity stroke, there is nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Amy just delayed her until she stopped acting so OOC. All Bernie would have gotten out of that photo spread is stalkers.

I hope Billy Bob comes back. He was... Insidious. In a good way.

OK...I need to re-watch as I missed some of the punchlines (apparently Mongol hordes were invading my house, according to my dogs!)

But first impression...very funny enjoyable epi.  Loved Billy Bob...he nailed the sympathetically creepy guy that everyone wants to make a hot beverage for.  His collection room is the real Nerdvana.  Plus they don't want to piss him off...Fargo anyone?  ;-)

I'm not quite sure what the purpose of the Amy/Bernie storyline was...seemed just sort of tacked on...but it was totally worth it for the "sexy" Neil deG-T image at the very end of the credits...Ha!
