Another thing great about this episode: they finally acknowlege that most of Sheldon's traits are based on Nikoli Tesla. They had Sheldon mention before that Tesla was one of Sheldon's heroes but this time there was an implied equalvalency with Amy stating that Tesla was a "poor man's Sheldon Cooper".

The creators and writers of the show seemed to have designed Sheldon after reading a Tesla bio.

I'm sort of surprised that people are not all excited about the Shamy this episode, I could not get the impression out of my head that they were acting like an actual boyfriend and girlfriend. The way they acted all night, it was so obvious that they were in a relationship to me. Also, did you notice how Sheldon seemed to enjoy riding to work, with Amy, I mean really enjoyed and they were talking more like a couple. Also that Sheldon didn't go nuts about her not telling him about the surgery, I got the impression they were more comfortable with each other and that this new comfort was because of what happened at the prom.

To me they have seemed like that all season(except maybe the first part of episode 1).

They went on dates (followed by offscreen kisses), enjoyed the ball game (he even invited her to go to Disney together) etc.

And of course the ILY2 last week.

So to me, their behaviour as a couple (which I did notice) wasn't that surprising.

actually in my review I did say I really enjoyed the married-couple style banter with Shamy, and yes, they feel really connected.

Personally I usually save all my intense Shamy observations for the Shamy threads, but they are 100% a couple, on the same page, and post-ILYs things are great.

I also felt a little more maturity from both of them too (still silly fun, but a slight difference).

They are in a good place right now.

The maturity thing is something I saw too, except for Sheldon's breakfast, which doesn't make sense because Sheldon wouldn't eat breakfast in a car, I thought they were talking together as two adults who were a couple. They were pretty serious and discussing things like a couple does, like I said making me really see them as boyfriend and girlfriend in that scene. I see it as fallout from the prom episode (good fallout), a new comfort between them. I am a big Amy fan, so I like this comfort between them and I hope the writers keep it like this now.

Sheldon's inner child seems to come to the surface when he gets emotionally stressed. This time that was shown with the breakfast,  the teddy bear, the problem with the revolving door and his reaction to the earth tremor.

No wonder the guy tries to suppress emotion. Too much emotion changes him from a brilliant theoretician into Gilligan.

Though I generally agree with you there seemed a little step back again from Sheldon when he said he was going to spend the rest of his life with Leonard.

I enjoyed this episode. Several laugh at loud moments and the Sheldon / Leonard interactions were classic TBBT.

The sad news concerning CAS did temper my enjoyment of the episode. I'm really glad that her voice was not part of this week's show. That would have been uncomfortable.

Picky point: This is twice that the writers have wandered astray and had Sheldon buy or own a teddy bear. Sheldon was quite adamant in his assertion to Raj that, "Bears are terrifying!" I know it's a small thing but consistency would be nice.

I don't think that one line was meant to be any kind of salient point for the episode.  They did play with the idea of their bond--Sheldon worried about Leonard surviving the surgery, saying that Leonard's snoring helps him sleep, Sheldon's "And I'm not?!", and their nose-bandage banter, but in that bandage scene, Sheldon made the comment about moving out if Leonard sneezes "web", and Amy made the remark that Sheldon would eventually move out, with no protest from Sheldon.

I think that both the "And I'm not?" line and Sheldons "web sneeze" line and Amy's "eventually move out" lines were all to set up the jokes that followed.

If this episode was really intended to address the idea of whether or not Sheldon is ready to move out, I think it would have been treated more seriously--but they already did that in Status Quo.

I don't see any of this as any kind of setback in the living situation arena.

Maybe he got over it.  The "bears are terrifying" line was from Season 2.  The bear he bought for Mr. D'Onofrio was in the latter half of S5 and this one is S8.

Bears may be terrifying, but teddy bears are not bears. Dinosaurs may be terrifying, but my kiddo's been sleeping with a T Rex stuffie/puppet since he was 3 with no issues.

I have a puppet of the dinosaur in Toy Story and my previous cats would drag it around like they'd just killed a critter (picture a cheetah dragging an antelope by the neck).  I had to hide it from my current cats because my cat Snug would bunny kick it so hard that he was about to tear up the eyes...

Oh we are fangirling about it in the shamy threat!

Best place for shamy fangirling is in the shamy thread, too many non shamies get all aggressive when we talk about shamy in episode threads I've noticed

That's why we have shipping threads. That's the place to go if you don't like getting called out on things not everyone sees.

In last night show, What was the game Sheldon and Amy playing with their smartphone? How can I get it to my phone?

It's called "Heads UP".  They play it on The Ellen Show every now and then.

Just finished watching the episodes with my two sons. The 9 year old piped up after the opening scene "I know what game that is. It's called Heads Up" and the 12 year old (Sheldony) future palaeontologist lectured us on how, though the T Rex in the gas tank line was funny, it was incorrect. (I'll spare you his lecture on ancient sea plants and animals, coral reefs, and so on).

Totally feeling my "Raising Geeks since 2002" signature is justified. :)

Oh, and we HOWLED at Howard's line about washing himself with a hamster. (We have 5 pet hamsters).
