so what is the future of Mrs Wolowitz/ Will they have her die?

Not really. she wasn't a Major/Main Castmember. she was recurring and never seen. She will be miss but taping will go on for next week and Life Goes on for the cast. I am sure they will send their sympathy to her Family

The cast showed they are saddened by a much loved cast member

RIP Carol, you will be missed.

As for Mrs Wolowitz, I personally think the best thing to do is write her out.

For one I never liked to see (or hear in this case) someone else play a character that has been portrayed by someone else for so long.

But more importantly, to me it is a sign of respect to Carol. That way she will always be Mrs Wolowitz for us.

So I think they will "kill her off" this season. Maybe not in the next few episodes that are going to be taped.

It will "solve"  the Stuart/Howard/Debbie fighting, but probably not in the way they wanted to.

It's a tragic loss for her family obviously first and foremost and the cast who clearly loved her ( as  they love everyone in this cast) but I tend to agree with you, Chiany. It's going to make for a dramatic sting in the show I didn't want ever if they do kill her off, far bigger than Proton's death.  It is sort of the same as Phil Hartman (Troy McClure) and Marcia Wallace ( Mrs Krabappel) deaths in the Simpsons. They were irreplaceable talents linked to their characters so the characters went. Very sad day.

Its very sad. I feel like the cast/crew was told to not say anything until after the taping, as they all came out post-taping with their social media comments.  It must be very hard to work after news like this.

Totally different, but when my co-worker died suddenly, it was a very sad feeling around the office for a few days.  Imagine that feeling while trying to shoot a comedy.  Must have been a hard taping for them.

And I am really interested to see what they do, as the character Mrs. W has an active plotline going on currently.

So sad though, I actually never realized her whole career until the news late last night came out and I read more about her.

So lucky she was at the taping I got to see.  Very sweet lady, everybody had nice things to say.

I wonder how much TPTB knew about her condition, since they had this ongoing storyline for her.  I mean, maybe they knew she was fighting cancer, but maybe she was doing okay.

I know I had a friend who developed Lukemia and seemed to be doing okay, having treatments, etc., then suddenly kind of went downhill and died in a matter of days.

It's just so sad and shocking.

I do wonder, also, how they're going to handle her loss.  If they're going to have Howard's mother pass away, I think it will also have to be a sudden turn of events and it will impact both Howard and Stuart.  I don't know if they can pull any comedy out of such a story, though.  Still, they'll have to deal with it in some way.

I wonder if they have any future scripts in process that would have involved her, because of the ongoing story with Stuart.

And I also wonder how Kaley feels about it.  While Carol wasn't a main character, Kaley went through the loss of a co-star when John Ritter died so suddenly on 8 Simple Rules.  I remember they wrote the father's death into the show and they had James Garner join the cast as the grandfather, and I think they added someone else as well--was it David Spade? (or Seth Green?)--but I don't think it lasted much past his death.

A friend of mine in Texas had what she thought was a lingering flu and went to the doctor.  By the time the tests came back diagnosing her with Leiomyosarcoma (cancer of the smooth muscle); she was in a coma.  A week after that she was dead.  She was 38 and had 2 young kids.

From feeling a little off to dying in 2 weeks can happen with very aggressive cancers.

I have also seen it with a co-workers wife that had ovarian cancer and a friends father with pancreatic cancer.

I doubt TPTB and even Susi herself could have predicted the swift devastation of certain cancers.

I wonder that as well and if they will have Howard's mom pass away even though it will be a sudden of events on the ongoing storyline of Stuart/Howard/Debbie fighting, even though it is but probably not in the way they wanted to.

And even though this is slightly off topic, I believe it was David Spade that joined the cast of 8 Simple Rules following the death of John Ritter 11 years ago.
