I really don't think it's a matter of how many of what genre, etc., or how many shows have won X number of times.

I wouldn't want BBT to win just because of some default set of numbers or statistics.  I think that MF has won for some good reasons--it really is very funny.  It may not have the same appeal as TBBT, because it's about a different kind of situation, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good show.

I would love for TBBT and its cast to win "the whole smash", as my sister would say, and I REALLY want Jim to win a SAG award, if not the whole cast, someday.  But not because of random statistical numbers--not even because of ratings numbers.  We know from the ratings that TBBT is a monster, but I would hope that most of the awards are given based on things like good writing and good acting.

But I think one of the reasons MF has done well is that it has that "heart-warming" appeal and some poignancy to it that TBBT doesn't really pursue.  I think we get moments of it, but TBBT is more focused on pure comedy.  So those touching moments don't happen in every episode and we don't get a "the moral of the story is..." recap in every episode the way you do with MF.

As for things like the Ensemble award they do at the SAGs, I think that it's easier to see that on MF because they have lots of whole-cast moments that happen in almost every episode, and the various family groups interact all the time, so it really is more of a full-ensemble kind of format than TBBT is.

I still want TBBT to win everything, of course, but only because it's worthy, not because someone thinks, "Hey, that other show has won enough times!"

Oh I agree on the most part. I never said MF wasen't a good show. I loved it the first two seasons. I agree it has a different appeal then TBBT. And maybe that appeal, is more suitable like you said with the various family groups (That TBBT does not have) and the full ensemble, to winning awards. TBBT is a pure comedy, probably the only pure comedy on tv right now. Only time they have had that kinda moral story, or dramatic edge was probably Penny in the S2 finalie, like I said. Having that heart warming appeal is great for MF. I agree also that TBBT doesen't always interact as an ensemble. Theirs a reason why this show is compared to Friends. It's like TBBT is Friends, and MF is Fraiser. Friends in its time diddn't win all the awards. But the show has gone down as a timeless classic, and so have the characters. I don't think Fraiser has that same appeal for the masses. I feel the same here. TBBT well go down as a timeless classic. I just don't see anything unique about MF at the end of the day, to be considered a classic. But thats JMO.
