Translation in my opinion: My opinion is the correct one, all the others are wrong. So I'll tell you all about how your opinions are wrong.

That was quite the beating you gave that strawman.  Hard to take your opinion that seriously when you boil down my opinion to "blah, blah, blah"

From my PMs, there are enough here that recognize it for what it is.

That makes them factually right how?  Again there are other PM's that I've gotten that say they agree with me about Lenny's being overly sensitive.  Are they right then?

Sounds like an assumption more than an actual fact.

Of course it's an assumption Sherlock. She's not a real person! She's a fictional character on a TV show!!

Always? From the Hawking Excitation:

"Sheldon: Because if I don’t, he won’t give my paper to Stephen Hawking. He’s a famous physicist.

Penny: Yeah, yeah, I know, he’s the wheelchair dude who invented time.

Sheldon: That’s close enough."

Wow! Just one example out of how many?

I don't see how a show's airdate PROVES it was his birthday. Especially since the experiment had NOTHING to do with whether it was his birthday or not.

Amy: "Ok Sheldon make a wish and blow out the candles. Oops missed one. Now your wish can't come true."

Ummm....the last time I checked, people only said that to you on your BIRTHDAY!! Why would she do that exercise if it wasn't his damn birthday? Apparently she knew when it was then but mysteriously forgot 2 years later? Sloppy lazy writing.

How do you know they didn't enter a bogus birthdate?

I can buy that Penny would care to a certain point, but I doubt she would lose sleep over not knowing Sheldon's birthday..

Who said she lost any sleep?

well...

Why do you care?

That's your answer to my original question? How pathetic. You must like bullying people because I've been quietly reading this whole time while you get on here and badger people about how they feel about a show they like and are slowly losing interest in.

Again, why do you feel the need to correct people when they complain about something? Do you even have an actual intelligent answer for me?

Again, as I've said before, in answer to your same question, I happen to agree that some are overly sensitive.  That doesn't mean I think it's right to keep beating them over the head for venting about what they see.  And others have, for them, valid concerns about the direction of the show.  Continuing to tell others they are wrong about how they feel and their opinions is what is some people are having problems with.    The "how the message is delivered"  is different from what the message is.  But your statement I quoted is trying to equate the two, and they aren't the same thing.   I happen to agree with some of your message, it's the how that has been delivered that caused problems with other posters.   You said you didn't see it other than "my personal interpretation".   You'll note there are others who've agreed with my post and even posted about it.  So you can't say it's  just my interpretation.

To Kathr2611: Your posts # 891 and # 898 are EXACTLY what I wanted to say, but you've said it better, and much clearer than I could have. If I could give you 1,000 likes for each one I would.

To Meka3000: All I can say to you is that you seem to be incapable of understanding other peoples' points of view, unless they happen to agree with yours. Further more, you tend to think that the only valid opinion is your own , and will defend it to the point of being unreasonable never accepting the mere possibility of a point of view opposite to yours being right. For reasons unknown you feel compelled to tell others how wrong they are as if you possessed the absolute truth. I have tried reasoning with you to no avail when I answer to some of your posts giving you concrete examples of why I say what I say. I don't engage in long discussions because I don't have as much patience as some other posters to try to make you understand. I know you never will.

Sounds like an assumption more than an actual fact.

Of course it's an assumption Sherlock. She's not a real person! She's a fictional character on a TV show!!

Doesn't mean you can't make observations about these characters that are factual.  Example: Sheldon has a roommate agreement with Leonard Hofstadter AND a relationship agreement with Amy Farrah Fowler.  These are facts that CAN EASILY BE PROVEN within the context of Big Bang Theory's own world as seen on the show.

The statement, "but I bet she looked at it closely later. But I think she would've known it before that anyway." is not factual because it is based on an assumption.

If your going to call the writers sloppy/lazy don't you think it's best to back that up with something more factual and with as few assumptions as possible?

Wow! Just one example out of how many?

Of course there are more, but I don't see why I need more; since all I need is ONE example to prove your statement "Now this is a man who ALWAYS corrects people when they are wrong." as factually wrong.

Amy: "Ok Sheldon make a wish and blow out the candles. Oops missed one. Now your wish can't come true."

Ummm....the last time I checked, people only said that to you on your BIRTHDAY!! Why would she do that exercise if it wasn't his damn birthday?

Because the exercise has NOTHING to do with whether it's his birthday or not.  It has to do with him being denied closure in life and how to cope with that.  Why does it need to be Sheldon's birthday for Amy to do this one experiment in a series of them?  There's also nothing that says people can only sing happy birthday to you, buy you a birthday cake, and have you blow out the candles only on your birthday.  Is it uncommon, for this to happen? Sure, but the experiment that Sheldon went through can be argued as not being very common as well.

If your going to make the assumption that it was Sheldon's birthday based on what you just said, you might as well take Sheldon's statement that "he wished Amy were dead" at 100% face value, and not something he just said in the heat of the moment that deep down he doesn't really mean, and only said that because she pissed him off in that instance.

Seriously?  You call me pathetic, and make the assumption that I like bullying people based on ASSUMPTIONS.  You honestly think I'm going to answer your question after you bluntly insulted me?  No, your not getting an answer from me (intelligent or otherwise) because after those statements, I feel you don't deserve one.

Mekka, buddy, your answers are almost never intelligent, yet they are always patronizing. Kathr2611 said you like bullying people because that's what you do in this and other threads. Anybody can see that. And of course you will not answer anything that might make you recognize you're not 100% correct, because that's not how you operate.

Your right I've never accepted the possibility that I was wrong on anything, EVER.

you feel compelled to tell others how wrong they are as if you possessed the absolute truth.

When did giving my reasons why I disagree with someone suddenly mean I possessed the ultimate truth?

I have tried reasoning with you to no avail when I answer to some of your posts giving you concrete examples of why I say what I say.

You've also tried to use the "No True Scotsman" fallacy in saying  You don't think that wouldn't color my opinion of your opinions?  For all I've said, I've never declared someone isn't a true Lenny fan based on how they feel.

Mekka, buddy, your answers are almost never intelligent, yet they are always patronizing.

Almost never intelligent?  That's an opinion, NOT A FACT.

said you like bullying people because that's what you do in this and other threads. Anybody can see that.

Again that's an interpretation, but I have yet to see it as factual.  Coming off as strong (which I won't dispute) does not necessarily mean bullying.  But that's just my opinion.

I will give him credit for not even bothering to defend how his posts sound patronizing or, (I wouldn't go as far as bullying) but give off an appearance that he feels superior to the other posters.

Sheldon has trouble with sarcasm.

If someone were to claim that half of my posts contained some form of sarcasm in them, I wouldn't dispute it.  I WOULD AGREE WITH IT!  :icon_twisted:

I'm not a moderator but I'm getting the feeling this thread is getting derailed by way too many personal attacks and nitpicking that are often frowned upon in other circumstances on other threads. Chill out guys, you're never going to agree. Head, meet brick wall! This stopped being about Leonard and Penny Season 8 so far ( a season that for most here I assume is over ) a long time ago. Sheesh!

Personal attacks and nitpicking lead by the esteemed Mr. Impartial Moderator, which is the most disappointing thing of all. For if the site moderator, the #2 person around here, is engaging in behavior that would be called out and censured if anyone else did it, what hope is there for a forum? Shenanigans like this are why I've been doing nothing but lurking for a while now, and am seriously contemplating leaving for good. The atmosphere in these forums has become toxic, and I don't see a solution appearing any time soon.

First of all, I didn't call YOU pathetic, I called your ANSWER pathetic! And since you refuse to answer it because you don't think I deserve one tells me you really don't have one.

BTW, my very first response to this stupid argument I find myself in was, I think, rather civil and polite and not at all rude or insulting and yet you STILL never did give me a thoughtful and polite answer in return. All you did was point out how you THINK I'm wrong to feel the way I do.

I think the way tbbt is going is mostly the writer's fault because I have to say that it has made quite a decline from earlier seasons - even season 7!

I'm not even a Lenny shipper but I still think it was a bad choice ( which imo is out of line) to make leonard do something so ooc, that could change the whole dynamic of their relationship, just for 5 minutes of drama

I also don't like how Sheldon is the centre of attention (as much as I love Sheldon and Jim Parsons) but that is probably because I just prefer ensemble casts - but tbbt will never been that

At the end of the day after I've actually thought about this season, I do think they mistreated Lenny a bit. I was clouded by the amount of shamy and if they weren't there, what would this season have? One more thing, the writers who wrote the finale need to get fired

iMO the first 7 seasons of the BBT were really funny I laughed all the time. Now with s8 the writers seem to think we need a drama instead and I'm tired of it

There is an line of thought that a way to rejuvenate a stale show is to fire the writing staff and bring in new blood.

And not forgetting our overreacting while the tptb slowly destroyed lenny. But as some posters said lenny are in a "good place" (air quote) and happy. Until they took that away as well.

Yeah, Leonard and Penny really looked happy and in a 'Good Place' driving to Las Vegas after Leonard confessed his kiss to Penny.
