I liked this episode much more than I was expecting too; in fact it's one of the ones that I rated Excellent this year. That's because all of the characters were actually acting so maturely, and the conversations were all rather deep and meaningful. It was simply really touching to me to see various pairings talk about serious issues, however briefly and with some injected humor, seriously and with respect for each other. Howard and Raj talking religion vs science while driving in the car, Leonard and Sheldon discussing their relationship and compromise and their living arrangements in the women's dressing room, Penny and Amy discussing and compromising about their relationship while trying on clothes. To me it had a real slice of life aspect to it - this IS how many of these conversations take place, in mundane settings, doing mundane things. Simply driving in the car, going shopping, sitting around holding woman's purses - and something about every scene felt homey and genuine, and very real. I liked that aspect of the entire episode, and it was especially nice to see these particular pairings connecting - Howard/Raj and Amy/Penny and Sheldon/Leonard - since these are the main "best friends" pairings of the show.

Although maybe this episode wasn't played for a lot of laughs, it was definitely had maturity and dignity for all of the characters, and there was something that felt every natural about all of them as they seemed to be talking and acting like very real people, and adult people. Bernadette and Amy were really kept to supporting, and since the conversations also had an impact and dealt with Leonard/Penny as well, it felt like a bit of a throwback to the dynamics of the original 5 and yet the original 5 as they are now seeing as the things in their life have changed. It's simply good to see them acting as adults, and adults as they are now in their lives, vs the adults they were 7 years ago. It was played more adultly, the characters were all honest with each other and in some ways seeing new and different sides in each other, and I found it interesting and also refreshing.

Actually one of my favorites of the season.

... I could have gone to the mall to see that.

Although the Raj/Howard story wasn't as LOL funny as the Shamy/Lenny story, I still liked it a lot. I did like the question of God/religion and science. I like the way it was discussed, but not really resolved, so it wasn't preachy, or trying to tell the audience what stance they should take, etc., and I also liked that we got a little insight into Raj and his beliefs, even though it was still funny.

And Shamy and Lenny--I was LOLing throughout those scenes, from beginning to end. I loved the nature of the discussions and all the punchlines.

I loved this one, really sweet friendship episode. maybe it's because I had little stress lately, I totaly felt Raj's pain. Also teared up little bit with Sheldon and Leonard. this episode really was an emotional roller coaster for me :D

Loved the Penny&Amy very much, my favourite besties :)

On my tv screen they looked different. Maybe it's the quality of my copies. On Rachel's images may be the same but as a creature of habit he probably bought new versions of the same clothes. Or wardrobe is saving costs[emoji12]

Yeah, I thought that later....that he went out and bought the same jacket (along with the same shoes and computer). Or, the Arizona cops found his stuff and returned it and nothing's been said to the viewers....

Did anyone else think it was odd that half way through season 8 Raj suddenly wants to go to a Hindu Temple? Even his good friend Howard was surprised. Also, Raj has had many high anxiety moments before. Break-up with Lucy, concern about being deported, a dead end in his research, divorce of his parents and his sister dating one of his close friends.  Now we have some anxiety over a work related item and thats what prompts him to go to the temple? A little odd.

On the other hand this episode could be the first of a series about this space probe. I had to dig up info on a probe on it's way to Pluto. They did get this right (but I don't think they named the probe)

I enjoyed the episode a lot.  I wrote a full thing on the Shamy board, but I am stunned with how much growth this episode presented overall.

A sentimental moment between Howard & Raj.  Their friendship is so strong and deep and sometimes you don't get to see that.

Penny appreciating Amy.  And Amy finally getting to do something she wanted to do.  that moment in the fitting room between those two was very sweet.  For all those comments about if there is a true friendship there and if its one sided have gone out the window now.  Also, this scene, along with many this season, is showing Penny growing up a lot.  She has shot ahead of the other two ladies on the maturity scale to me.  She not only appreciates Leonard (which we really saw during season 7) but now she is also valuing her friendships more.

Amy teaching Sheldon to drive...my gut says its a metaphor for sex.  explained this more on the Shamy board

And finally, the great Shelnard bromance and everything tied into it.  I think when Leonard said that he doesn't live with the woman he loves because of Sheldon, and when Sheldon responded with is that true....well he finally got it on how much he roadblocks Lenny from moving forward.  And yes, 1 night a week is nothing to most, but to Sheldon he agreeing to them moving on and out in any form is huge for this character.  Now that Sheldon knows what love means (aka being there for that person) he has a better understanding of what this means for others.  And when he said he knows how difficult he can be...well 5 seasons ago you would not have gotten a similar response.

I do think the tag was for laughs...of course Lenny sleeps together already, and I think Sheldon saw it as purely a reason for them to have coitus, but now the term "living together" means much more than just coitus.

Overall this episode laid a lot of groundwork for the future for all the characters (except Bernadette who didn't really play any role)

I can't say that I particularly like this episode, and the whole thing with Leonard and Penny sleeping together at Penny's apartment with the door open and Sheldon in the living room was, to say the least , very strange. Haven't Leonard and Penny slept together either at his apartment or hers more than 2 nights a week in the past? Didn't Penny stay at the guys' apartment for extended periods of time in the early seasons (can't remember which one exactly)?  The other thing I don't like is that Leonard is being portrayed as (what I deem to be) excessively wimpy this season. I would like to see a Leonard -Penny kiss this season, but no luck yet. On top of that I didn't find the episode particularly funny.  That being said I hope this season gets better in the coming episodes.

I just find this episode okay, maybe because I'm just not really in the mood actually.
So, not so much fun, even if I must admit there are some good comedic situations/gags and lines, and I appreciate some topics in this episode : living arrangement, compromises.

So the writers show us that Sheldon continues to make efforts (and this episode is about compromises in general, because Penny also made with Amy) and we warn that Leonard could move in with Penny in her apartment, soon, gradually.
As I said in shamy topic, with all the changes, I personally think Sheldon later propose to Amy to move in with him at the end of the season.

Season 8 is getting very "feelsy". One heartwarming moment away from being a family friendly show with good family values.

Well it's always had a G rating lol. So I don't see any problem with that. Shows always had good values. I don't get your logic. Are you saying you want the show to have bad values? Because your point of view suggesting its getting "feelsy" suggests show used to be cold. Tbh other then the characters. I don't see a difference between season 2 and 8 just saying.
