A quick question.

Is the term "bath sheet" used in America?

For the towels commonly used after a shower, etc., it's called a bath towel, however, a bath sheet is a specific kind of bath towel that's much larger than the average bath towel.  In bath linens you'd have the washcloth, hand towel, bath towel, which are common parts of bath linen matching line-ups, like a brand or label offers at the store, then some labels would offer a bath sheet as well.

That's what I was thinking of.

Something that would wrap around the waist, probably a couple of times, and reach pretty much to the floor.

I think most people wouldn't necessarily use a bath sheet for that.  Most guys would simply use a bath towel to wrap around their waist, I would think.  And a woman would normally wrap it under the arms.  But if a bath sheet is all you have, or what you prefer to use, then it would conceivably wrap around a couple of times and reach the floor.  A bath sheet is kind of like a beach towel, only wider and more luxurious.

I need a little help please.

I'm looking for a hotel/motel, with an all night nightclub attached, or within walking distance, a short drive (say 2 to 3 hours) from Pasadena?

I think that's something you could just make up.  There are tons of hotels and nightclubs in the LA area.  I'm not sure what you mean by "all night".  I think that most cities have a time when a club or bar needs to close, like 2, 3, maybe 5 am at the latest.

I'm working on an idea for a story, that continues on from The Toast Derivation, and I need somewhere for the three girls to drive to, fairly quickly (hence 2 to 3 hours max), where they can get seriously rat arsed, drinking and dancing until the early hours.

Downtown Los Angeles is only 10 miles from Pasadena. There would be any number of night clubs in the area.

Thanks for that gohawks.

That's the thing with being on this side of the pond.

You've no idea of the geography.

Have them go to Eagle Rock (Part of LA between Pasadena and Glendale)  The are trying to make a hipster scene with coffee shops, clubs, etc.  It would be a perfect location for a bar.  Lots of wine bars.  Wil Wheaton is spotted there a lot drinking craft beers.  He is a beer nut.

Here, you can see a map too.

It was great to actually visit Pasadena earlier in the year (when we should have gone to a taping!) and be on roads that were mentioned and walk around the campus at Caltech! Many thanks to Hazelra for showing us around - we even found a Comic Book Store the guys would love!

We saw Glendale too - I have a new appreciation for the drive Amy would have to make on a regular basis - and Griffith Park!

I thought they were made up, like Central Perk.

Does the Cheesecake Factory look like the one in the show?

I don't think so.  I think people who've gone there in Pasadena have said that it doesn't.

I've eaten at a CF in Dallas and it's very different.

Nothing like it, except the extensive menu.  It is like those fancy pubs you guys have out in UK... Wetherspoons.  Only less booze, more Cheesecake.

It's a chain restaurant.  I've been to the ones here in Sarasota, Tampa and Orlando.

Stephen, you can google for various places in Pasadena.  In one of my stories I had Leonard and Penny (I know, almost all of you are Shamys, tis cool) go for brunch.  I found a place about three blocks from Colorado Blvd and Los Robles. I was able to described their walk there and back to the apartment.  Just by using google and several different mapping sites.
