Emmys 2015

As a past winner, Jim is likely to be called upon to present--even in his own category, since he's not nominated.  He won just last year, so that makes it even more likely that he'd be asked to present.

I don't think the whole cast will attend, though, since the show didn't get nominated overall.

Agree, Phanta. I´m quite sure Jim will be there as presenter, sitting near Mayim, like last year. He is last year winner, and it´s pretty sure he´ll present an award (as tradition dictates)

Unlikely the whole cast will attend.

Any of you know what episode Mayim  has submitted?

I think the Emmy nominations are right this year. Let's face it: TBBT didn't deserve to get nominated. This season was the worst yet and nowhere near par with other series. The category is for 'Outstanding' comedy series and I would say that TBBT Season 8 has been in no way outstanding.

As for Jim, he has mostly coasted this year I think. When I think of great Jim Parsons performances, not a single one from Season 8 comes to mind. If I really rack my brain, Jim's performance in The Septum Deviation was good, but I don't think he has been on the level of previous years. I don't think this is his fault; it's the fault of the writers. The quality of the writing has dropped significantly this season and the actors are none the better for it. I feel sorry for Jim if he has to present the award he is undoubtedly a legend of to the next big thing.

Good luck to Mayim in her award and it is nice to see TBBT represented, even if they bombed in the major categories. This sitcom is still popular and still a force in entertainment, even if it is in a worse position than it was 12 months ago.

:(  I was hoping Junior Professor Solution

Yeah, I agree. I was about to write the same thing. I'm no expert, but wouldn't "The Junior Professor Solution" have been better? I think it has better comedic stuff.

I  don't know, last year she submitted Indecision Amalgamation because it had humor in it, and predictions implied she should pick Locomotive instead, because Emmy voters, even in comedy category, respond better to some emotional movement and bigger events than simple comedy.  Maybe this year she will finally  "hit their taste"  :)

I don't remember her part in that episode, just the stuff in the classroom between Howard and Sheldon (the spit-wad!)

What was Amy doing in that ep?

She was in the middle of fight between Penny and Bernie

I think The Prom Equivalency was a good choice but honestly, an even better choice would have been The Colonization Application because there was comedy, cuteness and drama in it.   It was a good episode for Mayim (and Jim).   She had a lot more airtime in both of these episodes than she did in The Junior Professor Solution.   Also, both showed more range and depth than that episode so I am glad she didn't pick that one.

I have preferred the Colonization Application, too.  Amy screaming "We are on the same planet!!" is one of my favourite moments of  Season 8, actually...Since this last season was definitely more "romance" than "comedy" oriented for Amy character, it was a right choice to submit an heavy Shamy episode. In Prom the first scene with all the girls was pretty funny and well acted by Mayim...maybe, in the ILY part, Jim is too predominant. Anyway, it was a good episode (the more iconic episode of the whole season, IMHO) and I really hope she wins this time!!!

S8 hasen't been the best. I actually think the most consistently best season, with the best writing was S7. Everyone was picking that the year that BBT finnally wins the Emmy. Then well MF won lol. Just politics unfortunatly. This season BBT not getting nominated not a surprise, their have been some good ones like Prom, Junior Professor. But not as consistent as years gone by. Too much focus on the relationships and not the quality of the comedy imo, hope that returns in S9. I guess though shows in its twilight years do lose the ability to surprise, maybe its just loosing its impact. But because of its huge popularity I don't think it matters.

This is true. But based on that same logic why did MF win then in 2013. When critics were indeed saying BBT S7 was outstanding in every single way. And were saying it was sure to win. MF that year might have been as bad, as BBT has been this year. Has to be because MF is more niche. And the fact it has a rep, and the fact their are alot of conservative voters on the Emmy panel and the Academy. Who still look down at the multi camera sitcom genre. Oh BBT an old tradational sitcom, that plays by the rules, might give you a laugh haha. But when it comes what they want portrayed, they rather go for the groundbreaking and "trendy" shows of the moment. Not a consistently great (minus this season) show like bbt. I do accept though the writing has really declined. The actors can only do so much with the matarial they have been given, and the matarial has been average at best.

Do they typically plan presenters so that it's someone meaningful to the winner?

No, but the presenters are often past recipients of the award.   So Jim, being a four-time winner is someone very likely to be asked to present, especially because he is not a nominee this year.   But they don't know the winner's until the envelope is opened at the event itself.

As much as I think it would be fun to see Jim present to Mayim if she won, I would rather he was sitting next to her I think when her category comes up because if she wins, he can still react by being next to her in a way that he would if presenting to her...but if she lost, he can be there to comfort her too.   He has always comforted her on her losses...but I think if he was presenting and she lost, he would have to put on a smile and be happy for the winner even if he wished it were Mayim and he would not be there to be with her to comfort her.    Also, if he presented her category, which is usually early in the show, he may leave right after.   Where if he has a different category that comes later in the show, then we get to see more of him. :girlwink:
