Emily And Raj, Pro Or Con And Why

I still think Raj needs someone he has a bit of conflict with at first.  Then develop the relationship.  If he justs meets a sweet girl, and everything is hunky dory, then why would an audience get invested in it.  We need a bit of drama!

In other words, Emily. ;)

I would like to see Lucy with Stuart because I think their awkward goes together. Raj and Emily....hhhhmmmm I don't know. I wish he'd want to be with her not just to not be alone. I would have hope he would have dumped her in the cemetery and not chickened out, if nothing else for him to show how he really feels.

Nobody can play Morticia Addams like Carolyn Jones did.

Incredible lady, who died far too young.

John Astin is 85 years old.

I last saw him, playing himself, in an episode of Mad About You.

I think they've closed the book on Lucy.  And I doubt they're going to bother giving Stuart a girlfriend, since he's just a recurring character.

I don't think that Raj is with Emily just so that he won't be alone.  I think that he's been very happy in her company up to a point.  In the earlier episodes between them, he seemed to enjoy her sense of humor, laughing along when she was teasing Howard about her long ago date with him and all that.

I don't think he needs to necessarily dump Emily, but I do think he needs to be honest and firm in his resolve.

The question is how much they really like/love each other.  I don't know that he necessarily wants to break up with her, but I think that he needs to find some middle ground, or see if there is a middle ground where he's not just going along with what she wants.

I think that if he were to ask her to cool it on the truly creepy stuff, she might actually admire him for taking a stand.  I think that the writers haven't explored her character as much as they might need to.  It's kind of funny to juxtapose his metrosexual, soft-hearted personality with her edgier, tattooed, dark humor, but if that's the only card in the deck, well, they're going to become a cliche pretty quickly.

I think that the point of this episode is for all of the couple to face an issue in their relationship, not necessarily to end any of the relationships.  Someone--or maybe both people--in each couple have to decide what's important and if their SO is worth it (except H/B who are dealing with their relationship with Stuart).

But I don't think it means an end to any of the relationships.

Yes, I thought so to (meaning that in the season finale they tried to make every couple go through something). I just wished they would have been a little bit more subtle about it. The way they did it felt a little bit like artificial conflict which (IMO) hadn't really been earned. That being said you can only be so subtle in 21 minutes, I know. I guess what bugged me the most is that Raj said "I love you" without really feeling it.

I think we must be on the same wavelength! Howard is one of my favourite characters. His character is so funny and endearing. I loved that episode when he sang that song to Bernie when she was in isolation at the hospital. The scenes he is in are always lots of fun to watch.

Raj is a very underutilized character. It would be nice to see him a bit more on the show. He can be quite a jerk when he wants to....I find that Raj funnier than the sappy Raj. I thought it would have been funny, when he finally was able to talk to girls without alcohol, that it went to his head, and acted like God's gift all of a sudden.

I like your comment about how the writers kept him true to his heritage in the way he expresses himself. He can be quite charming. I found his sister Priya to be extremely grating though. Maybe cause she was constantly trying to "improve" Leonard. Lol...and I'm saying that as an Indian woman myself! = )

Howard actually is my favorite character. I like him now but I liked him pre Bernadette too. I think that he was hillariously snarky and so fun and witty. I don't really understand people who seem to insist that he was disgusting or desperate before meeting her. Actually, the way Bernadette had been written this season, I keep liking early Howard more.

Howard has always been one of the funniest characters in the show. I loved him pre Bernadette as well. I thin it is a testament to Simon that he could make the character super creepy and likable as well. Also, for me it was always so funny how he was a legend in his own mind, when nothing was further from the truth. I always found the character to have a great heart, unlike his best friend.

Howard just rocks.  Pre-Bernadette, I loved him.  Sure, he was a bit creepy in his approach to hitting on girls, but I was always rooting for him.  One of my favourite old episodes, is when him and Raj dress up all Goth and go to that nightclub with the fake tattoo sleeves.  Too funny.  I loved the way they dressed up Howard.   I like him with Bernadette also.  She can be a little hit and miss sometimes.  I like when she is just being her snarky self.  I don't like it when they make her into Howard's mom yelling at him.

Totally agree Carlos!  He was super creepy but totally likable.  I've always liked Howard.  Every scene he's in, is usually gold.  Raj needs some character development.  Maybe cause he was whispering for half his scenes during most of the run of the show?  I still prefer his assy side.  I like when it comes out.

I didn't find him very creepy, more like... bizarre, LOL. I felt sorry for him in The Killer Robot Instability and felt like writers were being too preachy. Hate mail from... certain groups, maybe?  But at least I got to see him in an ordinary clothing. He looks more attractive when dressed that way. Same with Lucy in The Itchy Brain Simulation. But Howard's fashion choices are-mostly-fun!

The problem with Bernadette is that her occasional mean streak/sounding like Howard's mother while yelling would have been funny as on occasional gag, such as Sheldon being called crazy and responding with "I'm not crazy my mother had me tested" or making a joke and then saying "Bazinga", or Amy telling disturbing stories about her monkeys, but they started overdoing it, making her pretty much borderline abusive by now, or by very least unfunny. They sometimes overdo Howard's quirks too in order to make her better in comparisson. Sure people change after getting married, not necessarily for the best, but it is unlikely that he would be that irresponsible with the money since he had been living alone with his mother who apparently never had a job and still managed to keep a job and buy all those belt buckles etc. Or that he would expect somebody else to cut his pancakes for him. His attachment to his mother was emotional, not literal.

But hopefully in the next season he will get some backbone as well as more funny lines.
