Leonard Nimoy

I'd heard he'd been admitted to the hospital a few days ago, but I hadn't heard anything further.  I was just on the other forum and saw the news.  That's just very sad for his family, friends and fans.

At least he did get to go onset and be in an episode, even if he wasn't onscreen.  With the way Sheldon has always talked about him, that episode with "Tiny Spock" was so perfect, and very well done by Mr. Nimoy.

Just so sad.

Will the show do anything to acknowledge Nimoy?.He has been an on-going presence. Maybe a ceremonial burning of the restraining order.

The napkin Penny gave to Sheldon should definitely make a reappearance - and they never really explained what Sheldon did to merit the restraining order -

both would be avenues they could go down for a tribute episode to Mr. Nimoy, Sheldon was so affected by the death of Professor Proton, I can't imagine how shattered he would be over the death of Leonard Nimoy - it's a very sad day.

Did he actually die today or was it just announced today?

The NY times story says

Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.

I thought this was cool.  From The Hollywood Reporter:  http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/leonard-nimoy-receives-vulcan-salute-778434?utm_source=twitter

"Leonard Nimoy Receives a Vulcan Salute From Space"

An astronaut paid his respects to Leonard Nimoy from space.

Terry W. Virts, currently on board the International Space Station, posted a photo to Twitter on Saturday of himself giving the Vulcan hand salute in honor of the Star Trek actor, who died Friday after a battle with lung disease.
