Yes, it's the perfect "why the face?" look (Modern Family in-joke). Friction ensues when a magazine fails to mention Leonard in an article about the paper he co-wrote with Sheldon. I cried when she died, and you know this episode is going to be even more heart-wrenching. While I won't miss the plethora of fat jokes, I sure will miss Howard's Mom. She was the best ever invisible cast member of any sitcom to date!

Guitars1964 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 So what's up with Emily? Why isn't she appearing with the ensemble, such as at tonight's dinner? I thought at this point she and Raj were a couple.
loriparis80 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I thought tonight's episode was good. I found Raj's Tor and tunder comment funny. I was actually happy to see Stuart, like I've missed him. The best part for me was Bernadette yelling at Sheldon and Leonard.
Earnie Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Good episode loved the way Penny wanted to cheer Leonard up and her short hair looked cute in tonight's episode Sheldon and Leonard's fight wasn't as bad as everyone thought after the TR came out and we now know Stuart is still living in Misses W house Edited March 13, 2015 by Earnie
JoeSal90 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Cute episode and loved the dinner and Bernadette going full mom mode on Sheldon and Leonard's childish squabbling towards the end over all I give this episode a B+.
Chrismo Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 So what's up with Emily? Why isn't she appearing with the ensemble, such as at tonight's dinner? I thought at this point she and Raj were a couple.but she hasn't been a regular all year. She had been on the last two episodes. with Stuart there it made an even amount of people.Good episode loved the way Penny wanted to cheer Leonard up and her short hair looked cute in tonight's episode Sheldon and Leonard's fight wasn't as bad as everyone thought after the TR came out and we now know Stuart is still living in Misses W house Agree the Sheldon Leonard part wasn't that bad. This episode seems to be leading to a gradual closure in regards to Howard's mother. It also seems to tie up the loose ends regarding the paper. Not the best this year but there have been some worse ones.
mphs95 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I thought the Shelnard fighting would be worse, but Bernie was hilarious. I liked Shamy at the beginning when he's guessing what Amy is trying to tell him about Leonard. I had to rewind that a few times...along with the little lady bit. Swoon!
Kathy2611 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Did you guys notice how Penny was sitting on the couch after dinner? She had her leg draped over Leonard's. So cute!

luke Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I don't know, I was expecting more from that episode - I really liked the idea of the gang sitting down to eat the last food Mrs. Wolowitz prepared, and the scene with Howard and Bernadette in the kitchen choked me up, but then they ruined the mood of the episode by having Leonard and Sheldon arguing though the whole thing, in a discussion that could have been had in a future episode, this episode really should have been about Mrs. Wolowitz, I would like to have seen the gang discuss their memories of her with maybe some clips from previous episodes, rather than just another Sheldon/Leonard argument - maybe I will feel better about the episode in the future, but I am a little disappointed with it now, it felt like a missed opportunity. meka3000 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) There's a nice touch in the end credits where Sheldon is the one who is looking for articles online to see if Leonard's name is credited. While Sheldon was slightly irritating in this episode, I thought he somewhat atoned for his behavior with this action. The reviews made the characters sound like petulant children, but from what I saw of the episode, they've both done far worse. Not to mention both of them can become easily agitated depending on IF they get their buttons pushed. It's not like Sheldon has the best bedside manners (okay he has BAD bed side manners ) so I can see how Leonard and Sheldon escalated to the point where it took Bernadette being possessed by the ghost of Miss Wolowitz (too soon?) to put them in their place. On one more note Bernadette using the Miss Wolowitz voice to strike the fear of god into people to the point it can make people stop fighting SHOULD become a running gag. It could be as effective as when THIS GUY does it. Also loved the gag where Sheldon and Amy feel the need to explain specific things to Penny & Sheldon (specifically), as if they don't know what those things are. And Penny telling him to shut up the last 2 times. Not as bad as I was expecting given the reviews, but not great either. Popular Post phantagrae Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I loved this episode! And yes, I am one of the few who have it an excellent. I think it struck the right balance between the sadness of remembering Mrs. W and the humor of the escalating squabble between Leonard and Sheldon. I liked the parallel discussions in the cars between Shamy and Lenny, with the girls putting up with the guys' comments and kind of reassuring/reacting to the guys--"look at that pretty bird!" I loved Howard realizing he would never get to talk to his mother again. I think I mentioned that I have a friend who just lost her mother in a fire. She and her family are going through the remains of the house, salvaging what they can, finding pictures, etc.. I like that they're giving Mrs. W's passing a few episodes, showing something of the process little by little rather than having one episode that's just about her passing, or glossing over it. I think they're handling it just right while sticking to their sitcom tone. I also loved the way they had the guys arguing kind of grow from Sheldon trying to let Leonard down easy, but then kind of getting his back up as Leonard took it badly. And I loved Sheldon's line about which muscles not to relax "because they're what keeps the urine and feces from coming out." And I loved the conversation at the dinner table. The thing with Sheldon explaining stuff to Penny and Amy explaining to Sheldon and the Sheldon explaining to Penny again was too funny. And I loved Bernie calling them out to the living room and Sheldon's comment about his name being called first. I was laughing out loud through the whole thing, even the second time I watched it. Excellent.
Popular Post Itwasdestined Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Agree with phanta. I thought this was an hilarious episode - one of the best for the season. The most my son has laughed all year ( my girl laughs all through every show but was even louder during this one. I found every scene funny and every character contributed. I thought the Shelnard fight was great. It was a great mix of new and old Leonard and Sheldon. Sheldon was predictably clueless in the opening until Amy gave him a reference point he understood. His awkwardness in dealing with the reveal to Leonard was in character, Leonard's initial response was his typical acceptance of his second fiddle-ness. And Kudos to new improved Sheldon for actually attempting to correct it. Then it escalated like it did in early episodes through a combination of Sheldon superiority and Leonard emotion. I think sometimes it easy to always blame Sheldon for every fight but over the years Leonard has had his moments of going too far as well ( I concede the score is about 250-10 in Sheldons favour but still[emoji12]) Anyway it made for some great interaction that made me laugh all night. And it didn't worry me in the least that it kept going throughout the dinner. Shows their emotional immaturity is still hanging in there despite their growth. Loved both Amy and Penny dealing with them too. Amy again showing her strength not to just side with Sheldon when she could see that Leonard was wronged. The Shamy is certainly secure enough to handle disagreement now. Penny was great how she tried to calm him through her love of shopping ( coz that cures all things ) and knowing what her man wants. I loved even more how she was strong on telling them that this night was all for Howard. Showed her social awareness and how much she loves her friends - even that guy she couldn't stomach for years ( Howard I mean , not Sheldon) Loved the salon talk and how Sheldon felt it necessary to explain everything to Penny but they turned it around when they felt he wouldn't understand the View ( but he did because of Whoopi link to Star Trek). I love Simon being emotional. Nuff said. Bernie was brilliant ripping into the two childish scientists as the voice of Mrs W and Howard noticing and the others pretending they had never noticed. I disagree with the notion the episode should have been a better homage to Mrs W and Shelnards fight was out of place. I think the way the show has farewelled Mrs W over several episodes has done her justice and we haven't needed the cheesy flashbacks of her voice and any memories scenes. And Emily? I don't think it would be appropriate, despite her relationship with Raj, for her to be there. It wasn't a couples dinner. It was the final farewell by the eight friends whose lives were profoundly touched by Howard's mum over many years (and by extension Carol Ann Susi) Emily may not have even met the woman ( even in the prom episode, Stuart and Howard's cousin came out to the limo rather than them going in to get them ) so this night was not for her. Loved the episode. Haven't rated it yet but will give it excellent. And loved the tag scene. Looked like my house and family after Christmas dinner[emoji1]. Tags have been let downs a lot this year. This was a good one. Edited March 13, 2015 by Itwasdestined
SRAM Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 The Howard, Raj and Bernadette plot saved the episode for me, it was mildly funny, yet sincere enough to be respectful. It made you really like Howard and it did show why Howard and Bernadette are married, they obviously love each other and that episode shows it. Raj didn't even seem like a third wheel, he seemed like a good friend and I didn't really miss Emily. The story line with Leonard and Sheldon turned be off, Penny and Amy dealing with the situation was excellent, but the guys situation reminded me too much of that sweater episode, Sheldon hurting Leonard again because he is an asshole, I didn't find him quirky at all, just selfish and egotistical. It makes me wonder why Leonard cares about Sheldon's feelings so much when he keeps doing crap like that, it is time to pass the big baby to Amy.
BlackWhiteRose Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I liked the episode a lot. Loved Sheldons massage he gave to Leonard -> such a sweet Shelnard moment Leonards : " Baby´s listening" was hilarious *LOL* Rajs line about food *LOL* Howard finds Mrs Wolowitz´s last meal she ever cooked Bernie comforting Howard Sheldon and Leonard fighting *LOL* -> those two reminded me of two big babies *LOL* Sheldon telling the group after dinner that the magazine "Physics today" mentioned Leonards name and they all were like " Yay!" -> loved it! Bernie yelling at Sheldon and Leonard -> Melissa did an awesome job with this! And I loved it!
