Nogravitasatall
IWell, with all due respect, it seems like some of the people here now really don't enjoy the show. Just judging by their constant complaining. I now watch "Castle" for fun, and TBBT to see if I can still sense the magic. I still laugh but TBH, they have extracted the secret ingredient from TBBT progressively, partly by locking characters down to 14-19 year old behaviour and largely by terminating or freezing a significant storyline (L/P) and substituting Shamy, with the consequent promotion of the now clownish, no longer whimsical and currently early adolescent Sheldon character - who is widely loved and certainly commercially successful. I clung to the show because I kept hoping that this next time they would change (dumb, huh). Part of what drew me back in was the cycle of repeats, when you see something glorious from the the good old days... of season 7 or 6. So long ago, it's unbelievable. *sigh*. And maybe it is wrong for me to have sucked the fun out for others too. Even though it's legal and I'm entitled. The show is not what it once was to me and I'm tired of my own complaints. Haven't seen this episode. Not rushing to catch up. Hope to be pleasantly surprised by future developments.

Martin Pollard
. What do you think forums like these are for? [emoji14] Whatever they're supposed to be for, they're now at the point where I'm seriously considering leaving and not coming back (which I'm sure will be a cause for celebration in some corners). I come here to share my enjoyment of the show, but all of the sheer negativity and complaining is destroying that for me. The choices are to stay and bite my tongue, put everyone who's a chronic bitcher in my ignore list, or leave for good. I have to tell you, this last week in Vegas not reading the forums has been very stress-free; when I came back, I simply did a "mark all read" because I knew what I'd find if I didn't (and based on the few messages I did read, my instincts were correct). I don't know yet what I'll decide. We'll see what transpires. Sent from my HTC One M8 using Tapatalk

Sometimes my team win a few in a row so i am happy for awhile. sometimes when they lose for awhile I'm upset. I think it's that way on here. Shamy's appear to be on a winning streak. Shamy's appear to be on a winning streak. Lenny's not so much. With any kind of streak things can change very quickly. Â I second this notion. Â Even on it's worst day I'd rather interact with people here and talk about this show with them than I would at av club or ign's boards. Â You can't go ONE episode review without someone complaining about the show and having NOTHING else to say. Â They'll bring up how the show uses a laugh track, or how it's nerd blackface; no matter how ridiculously inaccurate those criticisms are. Â Â While I don't like what all members have to say about the show here. Â I still enjoy interacting with them because most of them have proven to either be very astute in their observations of the show and its characters and/or are very passionate about the show/characters they are watching. Â The moods of people around here IMO just ebb and flow with what happens with the plots and its characters. Â My personal hero Greg Weisman put it best: "I think the swaying of the opinions of any large group of people is depressingly easy in the real world. Â Today's hero is tomorrow's goat. Today's scumbag is tomorrow's candidate for redemption. Today's truth is tomorrow's lie. Today's lie becomes tomorrow's truth. Etc. Etc." Â My point is that people (even me), could be mad about how this show is doing AT THE MOMENT. Â But it wouldn't be hard to turn those opinions around after some focus on Leonard and Penny's relationship. Â Somehow I don't think these complaints will be felt very much when the wedding comes around next season. Shamy's appear to be on a winning streak. Lenny's not so much. With any kind of streak things can change very quickly. But they are not rivals Chrismo, they are playing for the same team. I can hear your complains, it's never pleasurable to watch someone's success while we're not that lucky at the moment, don't I know it. And trust me, I can relate, after all there was a time when Lenny were happily announcing their engagement, planning future together and at the same time Sheldon called Amy almost crazy for wanting the same. But as you said with any streak game can change and no one can do it more quickly and unexpectedly than BBT. Till that change I think good thing is still enjoying some good homerun here and there...(did I even used that right? too much sport metaphors for someone who's only sport activity is to get out of the bed in the morning) ... But to the episode, I had finally opportunity to see. I like it very much. A little disappointment was for me with Howardette plot since I think Howard's new brother story could be played out  more and it was little less funny than I expected, but overall every storyline had it's moments. Shamy plot was very IC, hilarious and Sheldon's print face was gold I couldn't stop laughing. Lenny was funny too, and it had even sweet moment with Penny offering Leonard to help him with his loans. I'm giving it very good and saving excellent for last two episodes (hopefully).

I love all the characters, even though I prefer some over others. I like to see the story developments for all the characters and it doesn't bother me if they focus on the Lenny or Howardette or even Raj and Emily or Cinnamon. I don't think it has to be adversarial or some kind of competition between "teams" and if you see it that way, rather than an overall narrative for all the characters, then I guess you're bound to have issues. Of course you're not required to like or be interested in all the characters, but such narrow focus, where you're waiting for the show to focus on just two characters or certain kinds of stories for those characters, then you're likely to be disappointed from time to time as that's not how the show works, apparently. But you're certainly free to view it however you like. But just because you may be disappointed for whatever reasons doesn't mean that an episode is necessarily a bad or weak episode. Maybe it doesn't tell some story you want it to tell, but that's just the way the overall story is developing. I am using the collective you, but you are the one who brought up the team metaphor. We all know that there is a long term story and that the reason they're not focusing on the engagement or wedding plans or living together is that they're saving those developments for later. Even with the Shamy, they're not going to take certain steps until toward the end of the shows's run, whenever that will be. As for all the complaining and snark, well, that's what the internet is all about, isn't it? This is one reason I take time to go to the other forum. At least over there they seem to actually enjoy the episodes. They may be derisively referred to as The Lollipop Guild for being "too positive" or perhaps not critical enough, but I find that even if some fans there may be disappointed or confused by certain developments, they tend to focus more on the positive elements in an episode. Sometimes it's a relief to go and read posts from people who actually enjoy the episodes. Snark and complaining are not the equivalent of critical thinking. They may not be mutually exclusive in certain circumstances, but just because one can complain about an episode doesn't mean that one is thinking more deeply about it than others. Anyway, I actually enjoy all the episodes and I'm no Pollyanna. Just my two cents.

Chrismo
Phanta and tallin. If, for example purposes, there was an episode that Shamy broke up and Lenny sent out wedding invitations how would you feel? Would you be discussing how wonderful it is Lenny finally was sending out invitations or saying how you enjoy every episode? I would assume you both would say yes since they aren't rivals or it isn't a competition.

Helicopter up and get your head out of the show, and out of the shipping mindset. It's about choice in what one consumes. The Sheldon flavour is now overwhelming in this product. It's not appealing to me. I'm just a consumer and I'm going to shop elsewhere. It's not that big of a thing. Cheers.
hokie3457
Why do we have to stomp all over each other's opinions and preferences. I fully admit that I have been guilty of that myself. No more. I will only state my own opinion of a show or character and not opine on anyone else's. I truly hope to read more posts from you NoGrav, as you always present your opinions both cogently and with good (often self-deprecating) humor.
